  • For a certain set G in the complex plane, we construct a transcendental entire function f whose translated family ${f(2^{n}z)}$ is normal only at z in G and establish the relation between the normal family and the Julia direction of f(z).

  • We investigate the equation Ax = y, where the vectors x and y are given and the operator A is normal and required to lie in CSL-algebra $AlG{\mathcal{L}}$. We desire a necessary and sufficient condition for the existence of a solution A.

  • In this paper, we will discuss on the above problem for the case that .upsilon. is a Riemannian foliation. If .upsilon. is a Riemannian foliation on (M, g), we derive some basic relations between the curvature $R^{D}$ of the normal connection D and the curvature R of the Levi-Civita connection .del. on (M, g) (see Lemma 1).).

  • This study was carried out to investigate the influence of stem materials such as black stem on the quality of expended stem and cigarettes. Normal and black stem were separated by tobacco scan and then, those stems were expanded after treating with their respective stem casings. Total sugar, ether extract, ash contents and pH were slightly low in black stem compared with normal stem. However, the number of bacteria and fungi ratio were remarkably higher in black stem than that of normal stem. As compared with normal stems, ratio of rushed stem in rolled process was approximately 2 times higher in black stem with the consequency that the filling capacity of black stem was decreased. The ratio of large particles (> 3.35 mm) of expanded black stem showed decreasing tendency and small particles rate (1.40 mm <) was increased compared with normal stem. When expanded stems were prepared using stem containing 5 levels (0, 10, 20, 30 and 100 %) of black stem, the filling capacity was decreased and static burning rate was significantly decreased with increasing expanded black stem rate. However, the weight and hardness of cigarettes were slightly increased with increasing expanded black stem rate. The contents of phenol compounds, aromatic amines and carbonyl compounds in the cigarette mainstream smoke from the cigarette which was manufactured with various ratio of expended black stem, were gradually increased with increasing expanded black stem rates. Also, the cytotoxicity and the mutagenicity of the TPM were significantly increased with increasing expanded black stem rate. The sensory test result showed that cigarettes blended with 10 and 30 % level of black stem rate was exhibited significantly high sensory attributions such as off-taste, impact, hotness, bitterness and irritation as compared with cigarette blended with normal stem, while smoke fullness and cleanness were slightly decreased with increasing expanded black stem rates. The number of brown spots on cigarettes paper was 2 to 3 times high in cigarettes containing black stem than that of cigarette made from normal stem and were high with increasing black stem rate. The overall assessment in this study suggest, that black stem should not be used because of bad quality of expanded stem and high toxicological activity of cigarette mainstream smoke.

  • Tributyltin chloride(TBTCl) was administered through discrete immersion(2 hr each) from the $18^{th}-25^{th}$ day after hatching(dph). At the doses of 1, 2, 4 and 8 ${\mu}g/L$, the immersion at 2 ${\mu}g/L$ ensured 93% masculinization and the highest survival of 75% after the treatment. TBTCl acted as a growth suppressant and the magnitude of its suppression was stronger in females. During the 300 day experiment, it postponed sexual maturity of females from 120$^{th}$ dph in the control to 240$^{th}$ dph in the females treated at 8 ${\mu}g/L$. It reduced spawning frequency(22-3 times) and cumulative fecundity(1,632-19 eggs) by reducing the number of vitellogenic eggs. In the treated males too, it reduced sperm motility(100-68 sec); consequently, fertilizability of the sperm cells drawn from these males was also reduced from 88 to 43%. Progeny testing showed that the cross between males treated at>2 ${\mu}g/L$ and normal females generated the presumed 'homogametic' males. Both the treated 'homogametic' and 'heterogametic' males could induce the females to spawn fewer eggs than that of the normal males. A normal female somehow deducted the differences between the control, treated and sex reversed males; it preferred a normal male over a treated one, and a treated one over the sex reversed male.

  • This study was performed to evaluate the mechanical properties of high performance lightweight polymer concrete using fillers and synthetic lightweight coarse aggregate. The following conclusions were drawn. 1. The unit weight of the G3, G4 and G5 concrete was 1.500t/m$^3$, 1.506t/m$^3$ and 1.535t/m$^3$, respectively. Specially, the unit weights of those concrete were decreased 33~35% than that of the normal cement concrete. 2. The highest strength was achieved by heavy calcium carbonate, it was increased 27% by compressive, 95% by tensile and 195% by bending strength than that of the normal cement concrete, respectively. 3. The elastic modulus was in the range of 8.0 x 104~ 10.4 x lO4kg/cm2, which was approximately 35~42% of that of the normal cement concrete. Normal cement concrete was showed relatively higher elastic modulus. 4. The ultrasonic pulse velocity of fillers was in the range of 2, 900m/sec, which was showed about the same compared to that of the normal cement concrete. Heavy calcium carbonate was showed higher pulse velocity. 5. The compressive, tensile, bending strength and ultrasonic pulse velocity were largely showed with the increase of unit weight.

  • In the present paper, by generalizing the definition of the zero-difference balanced (ZDB) function to be the G-ZDB function, several classes of G-ZDB functions are constructed based on properties of cyclotomic numbers. Furthermore, some special constant composition codes are obtained directly from G-ZDB functions.

  • The nonlinear boundary value problem $$ y" = f(x, y, y') = -\frac{x}{3}y' - \frac{y^2}{g(x)}, 0 < x < 1, $$ $$ (1.1) y'(0) = 0, and either (H) : y(1) = \lambda > 0 $$ $$ or (S) : y'(1) + (1 - \upsilon)y(1) = 0, 1 - \upsilon > 0, $$ $$g \in C[0, 1], k \leq g(x) \leq K on [0, 1] for some k, K > 0 $$ arises in the nonlinear circular membrane under normal pressure [2, 3]., 3].
