Reversed Elongation Effect on Boxes (상자 모양 용기에서의 역전된 신장 효과)

  • Previous research has shown that people perceive the larger volume for tall and lean cylindrical containers over short and wide containers of the same volume (e.g., Raghubir & Krishna, 1999; Wansink & Van Ittersum, 2003). The present research demonstrated that this elongation effect is reversed for boxes, presumably due to the affordance of the boxes. Two studies showed that participants judge short and wide boxes as having larger volume than long and lean boxes of the same volume. This effect replicated through two types of presentation formats (drawing, Study1; actual object, Study2) when the choice between two boxes was forced (Study 1) and not (Study 2). The results also replicated among participants residing in the U.S. (Study 1) and participants residing in Korea (Study 2). The reversed elongation effect held for liquid materials in general (water, Study 1; drinks, Study 2). Theoretical and managerial implications are discussed.

  • Because of economic polarization and difficulties, extreme personalization, and the complexity of social relationships, modern people are experiencing various mental disorders or pathologies. Accordingly, there is an urgent need to prepare more active countermeasures and support those with mental health difficulties to improve mental health and prevent abnormal pathologies. Artificial intelligence (AI) is expected to improve the mental health of individuals through emotional enhancement beyond affective computing. We investigated how to use AI to prevent and diagnose mental diseases or disorders, support treatment, and manage followup. In particular, promising services that can be used in daily life or medical clinics were discovered and active directions for realizing these services are suggested.

  • This study introduces the concept of image/impression of a product design, human interface elements, and the relationships between them. It is assumed that the human interface can be decomposed into detailed design elements, called human interface elements. This study attempts to build functional relationships between the image/impression of a product and human interface elements. Two different human factors experiments were conducted to demonstrate the effectiveness of the approach suggested in this study. A total of 35 audio/visual consumer electronics products (e.g., CD players, VCRs) were shown on a display screen and the subjects were instructed to evaluate them in terms of eight image/impression dimensions. One experiment was conducted using Korean subjects while the other using American subjects. The functional relationships were modeled by using the multiple linear regression technique. Similarity and difference between the Korean and the American subjects were analyzed. The approach suggested in this study is expected to help designers and developers identify important design variables to enhance the subjective satisfaction of a product design.

  • 무용, 춤, 연기 등의 전문가 퍼포먼스를 분석, 학습, 보급하는 콘텐츠 기술개발은 문화산업의 중요한 당면과제이나 기존 기술은 동작만 인식하고, 감성 및 도구를 포함하지 않으며, 단순 열람은 가능하나 체험 및 학습할 수 있는 효율적인 방법이 부재하다. 따라서 전문가의 퍼포먼스 동작을 일반인 시점에서 학습할 수 있는 체감형 콘텐츠를 제공하기 위해서는 빠르고 능동적인 동작 영상 획득 시스템의 개발과 동작 데이터를 분석 및 생성하는 기술들이 필요하다. 따라서, 본 논문에서는 퍼포먼스 무용의 학습 콘텐츠 제작을 위한 핵심 기술들의 동향을 분석하고자 한다.

On-line Recommendation Service Algorithm using Human Sensibility Ergonomics (감성공학을 이용한 온라인 추천 서비스 알고리즘)

  • To be successful in increasingly competitive Internet marketplace, it is essential to capture customer loyalty. This paper deals with an intelligent agent approach to incorporate customer's sensibility into an one-to-one recommendation service in on-line shopping mall. In this paper the focus of interest is on-line recommendation service algorithm for development of Human Sensibility based web agent system. The recommendation agent system composed of seven services including specialized algorithm. The on-line recommendation service algorithm use human sensibility ergonomics and on-line preference matching technologies to tailor to the customer the suggestion of goods and the description of store catalog. Customizing the system's behavior requires the parallel execution of several tasks during the interaction (e.g., identifying the customer's emotional preference and dynamically generating the pages of the store catalog). Most of the present shopping malls go through the catalog of goods, but the future shopping malls will have the form of intelligent shopping malls by applying the on-line recommendation service algorithm.

  • In recent years, with the advent of e-Commerce the need for personalized services and one-to-one marketing has been emphasized. To be successful in increasingly competitive Internet marketplace, it is essential to capture customer loyalty. In this paper, we provide an intelligent agent approach to incorporate human sensibility into an one-to-one recommendation service in cyber shopping mall. Our system exploits human sensibility ergonomics and on-line preference matching technologies to tailor to the customer the suggestion of goods and the description of store catalog. Customizing the system`s behavior requires the parallel execution of several tasks during the interaction (e. g., identifying the customer`s emotional preference and dynamically generating the pages of the store catalog). The recommendation agent system composed of five modules including specialized agents carries on these tasks. By presenting goods that are consistent with user interests as well as user sensibility, the accuracy and satisfaction of the recommendation service may be improved.

A Study on the Color Harmony Scheme of the Home Office Based on Digital Color Image Processing (디지털 이미지 색채분석을 이용한 재택근무 공간색채배색에 관한 연구)

  • The purpose of this study is to analyze the emotional color of home office and the trendy color with special comparison of office and library colors, and to suggest the harmony of color combination of home office based on the emotional color of this analytical data. this study, the Color Syntax Program, digital tool for color analysis of images is used. The results of this study are as follows. Firstly, the main color of home office images shows three color classifications of YR-Y, Y-GY, R-YR, and with relatively high ratios of YR-Y in the color of home offices, and B-PB, GY-G in offices and libraries. Secondly, from the point of emotional aspect, the trendy color of the home office can be classified into four color image categories: 'natural', 'peaceful', 'mild', and 'noble'. Under those categories this paper proposes 10 color harmony scheme that can be applied to color of home office interior design.

  • The purpose of this study is to estimate human sensibility quantitatively under color stimulation. We measured biological signals such as EEG, ECG, skin conductance and the number of respiration and eye blinking that were compared with color sensibilities mutually. Our result showed that red, yellow and violet color provoked active and exciting senses dominatively and blue, cyan, pink, and black color were involved in tranquil and resting emotions deeply. Our quantitative estimations of color sensibilites are useful in the design of manufactured goods and color therapy.

  • LED는 빛을 내는 반도체이다. LED는 백열전등에 비하여 전기 절감 효과가 높고, 형광 등에 비하여 수은을 사용하지 않아 친환경적이기 때문에 녹색성장의 대표주자 중 하나이다. 메모리 반도체와 전자통신 기기가 융합하여 지난 20년간 발전하여 왔듯이, 앞으로는 LED와 전자통신이 융합하여 새로운 형태의 융합 기술이 발전할 것이다. 현재 예상 가능한 LED 전자통신 융합 기술은 LED 조명과 동시에 통신을 할 수 있는 가시광 무선통신 기술과 감성 및 전기 절감을 실현할 수 있는 LED 조명 모듈간 유선 네트워킹 기술이다. 본 고에서는 LED 조명과 녹색성장이 연계된 배경, 가시광 무선통신의 국내 및 국제 표준 동향, LED 조명 네트워킹 기술을 설명한다. LED 융합 기술에 의하여 인간중심의 편리 시설을 제공하면서도 전기 절감 및 저탄소를 실현할 수 있다.

  • As a part of "The method of suitable design for resident," the purpose of this study is to figure out the resident aptitude of client through "Saju-Myungrihak" more effectively and precisely. That is, the study is to find out the relations between individual character and environmental interior tendency through experimentingss to make Images based on one's individual inherent aptitude and character. For all these reasons, we proudly launch to develop the interior design program based on emotional inherent-aptitude technology for our clients with applying Nakamitch Mizuo's emotional technology thesis "the Expert System." However, a critical implication made by Nakamitch Mizuo's emotional technology, elucidates the fact that there was a problem for understanding the system of client's inherent aptitude. 1. Appearance of The inherent-aptitude in Saju-Myungrihak 2. MBTI (Myers Briggs Type Indicator) Form K 3. To strengthen and develop the tools of visual images through understanding clients' character and tendency by the result of his or her DNA (ACE, DRD4, DRD2, G-protein) test.
