  • In this paper, the adaptive fuzzy sliding mode controller with two systems is designed. The existing sliding mode controller used to $approximation{\^{u}}(t)$ with discrete sgn function and sat function for keeping the state trajectories on the sliding surface[1]. The proposed controller decrease the disturbance for uncertain control gain and This paper is concerned with an Adaptive Fuzzy Sliding Mode Control(AFSMC) that the fuzzy systems ate used to approximate the unknown functions of nonlinear system. In the adaptive fuzzy system, we adopt the adaptive law to approximate the dynamics of the nonlinear plant and to adjust the parameters of AFSMC. The stability of the suggested control system is proved via Lyapunov stability theorem, and convergence and robustness properties ate demonstrated. Futhermore, fuzzy tuning improve tracking abilities by changing some sliding conditions. In the traditional sliding mode control, ${\eta}$ is a positive constant. The increase of ${\eta}$ has led to a significant decrease in the rise time. However, this has resulted in higher overshoot. Therefore the proposed ${\eta}$ tuning AFSMC improve the performances, so that the controller can track the trajectories faster and more exactly than ordinary controller. The simulation results demonstrate that the performance is improved and the system also exhibits stability.

  • In this paper a robust speed controller for an induction motor is proposed. The speed controller consists or a fuzzy sliding adaptive controller(FSAC) and a sliding mode torque observer(SMTO). FSAC removes the problem or oscillations caused by discontinuous inputs of the sliding mode controller. The controller also provides robust characteristics against parameter and sampling time variations. Although, however, the performance of FSAC is better than PI controller and fuzzy controller in robustness, it generates the problem of slow response time. To alleviate this problem, a compensator, which performs feedforward control using torque signals produced by SMTO, is added. The simulation and hardware implementation results show that the proposed system is robust to the load disturbance, parameter variations, and measurement noises.

  • In Underwater Flight Vehicle depth control system, the followings must be required. First, it needs robust performance which can get over modeling error, parameter variation and disturbance. Second, it needs accurate performance which have small overshoot phenomenon and steady state error to avoid colliding with ground surface or obstacles. Third, it needs continuous control input to reduce the acoustic noise and propulsion energy consumption. Finally, it needs interpolation method which can sole the speed dependency problem of controller parameters. To solve these problems, we propose a depth control method using Fuzzy Sliding Mode Controller with feedforward control-plane bias term and Neural Network Interpolator. Simulation results show the proposed method has robust and accurate control performance by the continuous control input and has no speed dependency problem.

  • The objective of this paper is to design a force feedback controller for bilateral control of a master-slave manipulator system using fuzzy sliding mode control. In a bilateral control system the motion of the master device is followed by slave the one. While the force applied to the slave is reflected on the master. In this paper, a proposed controller applied to the system. Adding a switching control term to the input, robustness is improved. Also the knowledge of the system dynamics is not needed. The computer simulation results show the performance of the proposed fuzzy sliding mode controller.

  • This paper proposes a self tuning fuzzy inference method by the genetic algorithm in the fuzzy-sliding mode control for a robot. Using this method, the number of inference rules and the shape of membership functions are optimized without an expert in robotics. The fuzzy outputs of the consequent part are updated by the gradient descent method. And, it is guaranteed that the selected solution become the global optimal solution by optimizing the Akaike's information criterion. The trajectory trucking experiment of the polishing robot system shows that the optimal fuzzy inference rules are automatically selected by the genetic algorithm and the proposed fuzzy-sliding model controller provides reliable tracking performance during the polishing process.

  • In this paper, we proposed a decoupled adaptive fuzzy sliding-mode control scheme in designing the SMC of a class of fourth-order nonlinear systems. These systems are decoupled the whole system into two second-order systems such that each subsystem has a separate control target expressed in terms of a sliding surface. Then, information from the secondary target conditions the main target, which, in turn, generates a control action to make both subsystem move toward their sliding surface. respectively, and Two sets of fuzzy rule bases are utilized to represent the equivalent control input with unknown system functions of the main target, The membership functions of the THEN-part. which is used to construct a suitable equivalent control of SMC. are changed according to adaptive law, Under this design scheme, we not only maintain the distribution of membership functions over state space but also reduce considerably computing time, we apply the decoupled adaptive sliding-mode control to control a nonlinear inverted pendulum system and confirms the validity of the proposed approach.

  • Radio-Controlled helicopter has superior movement abilities like as hovering or backward move. So it has been used as a sprinkler of agricultural medicines or an observer of dangerous area such as a volcano, etc. But its operation is not simple because it has many control factors and they interfere with each other. Therefore the helicopter is not controlled by simple theory in the case of automatic operation. Then fuzzy sliding mode control, which has fastness, fineness and robustness, is thought to be suitable to satisfy various requirements of the helicopter operation. In this work, the fuzzy sliding mode control was applied to the flying of RC helicopter, As tile result, it was controlled with good performance.
