MIMO Fuzzy Reasoning Method using Learning Ability (학습기능을 사용한 MIMO 퍼지추론 방식)

  • Z. Cao had proposed NFRM(new fuzzy reasoning method) which infers in detail using relation matrix. In spite of the small inference rules, it shows good performance than mamdani's fuzzy inference method. But the most of fuzzy systems are difficult to make fuzzy inference rules in the case of MIMO system. The past days, We had proposed the MIMO fuzzy inference which had extended a Z. Cao's fuzzy inference to handle MIMO system. But many times and effort needed to determine the relation matrix elements of MIMO fuzzy inference by heuristic and trial and error method in order to improve inference performances. In this paper, we propose a MIMO fuzzy inference method with the learning ability witch is used a gradient descent method in order to improve the performances. Through the computer simulation studies for the inverse kinematics problem of 2-axis robot, we show that proposed inference method using a gradient descent method has good performances.

Design of Fuzzy-Sliding Model Control with the Self Tuning Fuzzy Inference Based on Genetic Algorithm and Its Application

  • This paper proposes a self tuning fuzzy inference method by the genetic algorithm in the fuzzy-sliding mode control for a robot. Using this method, the number of inference rules and the shape of membership functions are optimized without an expert in robotics. The fuzzy outputs of the consequent part are updated by the gradient descent method. And, it is guaranteed that he selected solution become the global optimal solution by optimizing the Akaikes information criterion expressing the quality of the inference rules. The trajectory tracking simulation and experiment of the polishing robot show that the optimal fuzzy inference rules are automatically selected by the genetic algorithm and the proposed fuzzy-sliding mode controller provides reliable tracking performance during the polishing process.

  • In this paper an electro-hydraulic servo system is designed by using a fuzzy control algorithm. In order to drive an optimal fuzzy control system, a simulation program for the control system has been developed. By this program the fuzzifier and defuzzifier, a fuzzy inference method, a fuzzy relational matrix, and a fuzzy inference method are investigated. As a result, Larsen inference method, 9*9 fuzzy relational matrix, and center of area defuzzifier are turned out the best as parameters. Finally this method is compared with the conventional PID algotithm, and showed that the fuzzy control performs better than PID algorithm. The fuzzy control performs very well adap- tation against uncertain disturbances.

  • In this paper, the optimization of fuzzy inference systems is proposed for fuzzy model of nonlinear systems. A fuzzy model needs to be identified and optimized by means of the definite and systematic methods, because a fuzzy model is primarily acquired by expert's experience. The proposed rule-based fuzzy model implements system structure and parameter identification using the HCM(Hard C-mean) clustering method, genetic algorithms and fuzzy inference method. Two types of inference methods of a fuzzy model are the simplified inference and linear inference. in this paper, nonlinear systems are expressed using the identification of structure such as input variables and the division of fuzzy input subspaces, and the identification of parameters of a fuzzy model. To identify premise parameters of fuzzy model, the genetic algorithms is used and the standard least square method with the gaussian elimination method is utilized for the identification of optimum consequence parameters of fuzzy model. Also, the performance index with weighting factor is proposed to achieve a balance between the performance results of fuzzy model produced for the training and testing data set, and it leads to enhance approximation and predictive performance of fuzzy system. Time series data for gas furnace and sewage treatment process are used to evaluate the performance of the proposed model.

  • This paper proposes a fuzzy-sliding mode control which is designed by a self tuning fuzzy inference method based on a genetic algorithm. Using the method, the number of inference rules and the shape of the membership functions of the proposed fuzzy-sliding mode control are optimized without the aid of an expert in robotics. It is further guaranteed that the selected solution becomes the global optimal solution by optimizing Akaikes information criterion expressing the quality of the inference rules. In order to evaluate the learning performance of the proposed fuzzy-sliding mode control based on a genetic algorithm, a trajectory tracking simulation of the polishing robot is carried out. Simulation results show that the optimal fuzzy inference rules are automatically selected by the genetic algorithm and the trajectory control result is similar to the result of the fuzzy-sliding mode control which is selected through trial error by an expert. Therefore, a designer who does not have expert knowledge of robot systems can design the fuzzy-sliding mode controller using the proposed self tuning fuzzy inference method based on the genetic algorithm.

  • This paper describes the arousal measurement and the control system using fuzzy logic to prevent drowsy driving. Sugeno's method was used for fuzzy inference in this study. Membership function and rule base were determined form the modfied arousal level criteria. The output of fuzzy inference tracked well the change of subject's arousal level. When IRI(Inter-SIR interval) was under the 60sec, maximum output of three step warning method was medium sound, but that of fuzzy logic system was changed from medium to big. Furthermore, the output of the fuzzy inference was highly correlated with $N_{z}$(r=0.99). Therefore, the fuzzy inference method for evaluation and the control of arousal will be more effective at real driving sityation than three step warning method.ning method.

  • In this paper, a new design methodology named FNNN(Fuzzy Polynomial Neural Network) algorithm is proposed to identify the structure and parameters of fuzzy model using PNN(Polynomial Neural Network) structure and a fuzzy inference method. The PNN is the extended structure of the GMDH(Group Method of Data Handling), and uses several types of polynomials such as linear, quadratic and modified quadratic besides the biquadratic polynomial used in the GMDH. The premise of fuzzy inference rules defines by triangular and gaussian type membership function. The fuzzy inference method uses simplified and regression polynomial inference method which is based on the consequence of fuzzy rule expressed with a polynomial such as linear, quadratic and modified quadratic equation are used. Each node of the FPNN is defined as fuzzy rules and its structure is a kind of neuro-fuzzy architecture Several numerical example are used to evaluate the performance of out proposed model. Also we used the training data and testing data set to obtain a balance between the approximation and generalization of proposed model.

  • A design method of rule-based fuzzy modeling is presented for the model identification of complex and nonlinear systems. The proposed rule-based fuzzy modeling implements system structure and parameter identification in the efficient form of ``IF....,THEN...', using the theories of optimization theory , linguistic fuzzy implication rules and fuzzy c-means clustering. Three kinds of method for fuzzy modeling presented in this paper include simplified inference (type I), linear inference (type 2), and modified linear inference (type 3). In order to identify premise structure and parameter of fuzzy implication rules, fuzzy c- means clustering and modified complex method are used respectively and the least sequare method is utilized for the identification of optimum consequence parameters. Time series data for gas furance and those for sewage treatment process are used to evaluate the performance of the proposed rule-based fuzzy modeling. Comparison shows that the proposed method can produce the fuzzy model with higher accuracy than previous other studies.

Arousal evaluation and control criteria were modified from result of Nz-IRI analysis depending on arousal sate. Membership function and rule base of fuzzy inference were determined from the modified arousal level criteria When lRl (Inter-SIR Interval) was shorter than 60sec, outputs of both methods were changed from small to big, but output of three step warning method was same level until the next warning range. Since output of fuzzy inference tracked well the change of subject's arousal level, problems of three step warning method could be overcome by fuzzy inference method Furthermore, the output of the fuzzy inference was highly correlated with Nz(r = 0.99). Therefore, the fuzzy inference method for evaluation and the control of arousal will be more effective at real driving situation than three step warning method.
