Intelligence Medical Diagnosis System using Cellular Phone (휴대폰을 이용한 지능형 의료진단 시스템)

  • In this paper, we have developed a tongue diagnosis system using fuzzy rules. A healthy person's tongue is red in color and has less tongue coating. However, when a person suffers from a disease, the color of their tongue changes from red to white, blue, or black. Therefore, it can analyze patient's health if analyze color and coated tongue of tongue. Medical diagnosis system can automatically determines the symptoms of the disease of a patient and their and calculate the optimal acupuncture time on the basis of the patient's physical conditions, illness conditions, and age from any place and at any time. The computer simulation results have shown that electro-acupuncture administered by using the medical diagnosis system developed in this study is more effective than the conventional method.

Face Detection for Automatic Avatar Creation by using Deformable Template and GA

  • In this paper, we propose a method to detect contours of a face, eyes, and a mouth of a person in the color image in order to make an avatar automatically. First, we use the HSI color model to exclude the effect of various light conditions, and find skin regions in the input image by using the skin color defined on HS-plane. And then, we use deformable templates and genetic algorithm (GA) to detect contours of a face, eyes, and a mouth. Deformable templates consist of B-spline curves and control point vectors. Those represent various shapes of a face, eyes and a mouth. GA is a very useful search algorithm based on the principals of natural selection and genetics. Second, the avatar is automatically created by using GA-detected contours and Fuzzy C-Means clustering (FCM). FCM is used to reduce the number of face colors. In result, we could create avatars which look like handmade caricatures representing user's identity. Our approach differs from those generated by existing methods.

Golf Swing Classification Using Fuzzy System (퍼지 시스템을 이용한 골프 스윙 분류)

  • A method to classify a golf swing motion into 7 sections using a Kinect sensor and a fuzzy system is proposed. The inputs to the fuzzy logic are the positions of golf club and its head, which are extracted from the information of golfer's joint position and color information obtained by a Kinect sensor. The proposed method consists of three modules: one for extracting the joint's information, another for detecting and tracking of a golf club, and the other for classifying golf swing motions. The first module extracts the hand's position among the joint information provided by a Kinect sensor. The second module detects the golf club as well as its head with the Hough line transform based on the hand's coordinate. Using a fuzzy logic as a classification engine reduces recognition errors and, consequently, improves the performance of robust classification. From the experiments of real-time video clips, the proposed method shows the reliability of classification by 85.2%.

Fuzzy Tracking Control Based on Stereo Images for Tracking of Moving Robot (이동 로봇 추적을 위한 스테레오 영상기반 퍼지 추적제어)

  • Tracking and recognition of robots are required for the cooperation task of robots in various environments. In the paper, a tracking control system of moving robot using stereo image processing, code-book model and fuzzy controller is proposed. First, foreground and background images are separated by using code-book model method. A candidate region is selected based on the color information in the separated foreground image and real distance of the robot is estimated from matching process of depth image that is acquired through stereo image processing. The open and close processing of image are applied and labeling according to the size of mobile robot is used to recognize the moving robot effectively. A fuzzy tracking controller using distance information and mobile information by stereo image processing is designed for effective tracking according to the movement velocity of the target robot. The proposed fuzzy tracking control method is verified through tracking experiments of mobile robots with stereo camera.

  • The management of image information settles as an important field with the advent of multimedia age and we are in need of the effective retrieval method to manage systematically image information. It is used to color, texture, and shape features for content-based image retrieval. And existing methods using multiple features have problems that the retrieval process is embarrassed because each weight is set up manually. So we have solved these problems by assignment of weight applying fuzzy integral. This paper proposed the optimized values of fuzzy measure by experiments.

  • The emotional information processing is to simulate and recognize human sensibility, sensuality or emotion, to realize natural and harmonious human-machine interface. This paper proposes an emotion-based image retrieval method. In this method, user can choose a linguistic query among some emotional adjectives. Then the system shows some corresponding representative images that are pre-evaluated by experts. Again the user can select a representative one among the representative images to initiate traditional content-based image retrieval (CBIR). By this proposed method any CBIR can be easily expanded as emotion-based image retrieval. In CBIR of our system, we use several color and texture visual descriptors recommended by MPEG-7. We also propose a fuzzy similarity measure based on Choquet integral in the CBIR system. For the communication between system and user, a relevance feedback mechanism is used to represent human subjectivity in image retrieval. This can improve the performance of image retrieval, and also satisfy the user's individual preference.

  • 본 논문은 상대적으로 대비도 차이가 크게 나타나는 역광 이미지에 대해서 Retinex 알고리즘을 적용하여 보정 했을 경우 발생하는 밝은 영역에서의 컬러 성분의 손실을 개선하기 위한 새로운 기법을 제안한다. 역광 이미지의 경우 밝은 영역과 어두운 영역에 대한 밝기 차이가 매우 크게 발생하기 때문에 Retinex 알고리즘을 이용하여 영상의 대비도를 향상시킬 경우 밝은 영역에서의 컬러 성분이 손실되는 현상이 발생한다. 이러한 손실을 보완하기 위해서 원본 영상의 밝은 영역에 해당하는 컬러 성분을 Retinex 알고리즘으로 보정된 영상에 추가해준다. Fuzzy c-means 군집화 알고리즘을 이용하여 원본 영상에서의 밝은 영역과 어두운 영역에 대하여 모든 화소의 소속 정도를 나타내는 퍼지 소속 함수를 구한다. 밝은 영역에 대해서의 컬러 성분은 원본 영상 값에 밝은 영역 퍼지 소속 함수를 적용하고, 어두운 영역에 대해서의 컬러 성분은 Retinex 복원 영상 값에 어두운 영역 퍼지 소속 함수를 이용한다. 제안하는 알고리즘의 성능 평가를 위해 역광 현상이 강하게 나타나는 자연영상들을 대상으로 적용하여 기존의 Retinex 알고리즘(MSRCR) 보다 우수한 성능을 가지고 있음을 보였다.

Design and Implementation of Green Coastal Lighting System for Entrance to Coastal Pier

  • The hardware of an LED lighting control system for coastal lighting at coastal pier entrance consists of a power supply unit, an AVR control unit, a CLCD output unit, an LED control unit, a scenario selection switch unit, and an operation speed display unit. It is made of an 8-channel. The CPU used ATmega128 and the FET was used to control the current signal. To operate the CPU, DC 12V was converted to DC 5V using a regulator 7805. A heat sink was used to remove heat generated in the FET. By connecting the load LED module to the manufactured 8-channel LED lighting control system, the operation was confirmed through various production scenarios. In addition, a control system was designed to show the most suitable color for the atmosphere of the coastal pier according to the input value of temperature and illumination using a fuzzy control system. Computer simulation was then conducted. Results confirmed that fuzzy control did not need to store many data inputs due to characteristics of artificial intelligence and that it could efficiently represent many output values with simple fuzzy rules.

  • 최근에 지능형 로봇분야에서 주위 카메라를 기반으로 실시간으로 환경인식 및 물체 추적 등 다양한 분야에서 연구가 활발히 진행되고 있다. 환경인식 및 물체 추적은 결국 배경과 관심물체를 분리하는 것이라고 볼 수 있는 데, 차 연산을 이용하여 물체의 움직임만을 배경으로 분리하는 방법과 물체인식을 통해 배경으로부터 분리하여 추적하는 방법에 대한 연구가 지속적으로 이루어지고 있다. 본 논문에서는 배경과 물체 사이에서 변화하는 색상의 변화를 퍼지기법을 이용하여 물체를 배경과 분리하여 실시간으로 물체를 추적하고자 한다. 실시간 물체 추적을 위해 전체영상에 대한 전역적 탐색을 통해 여러 후보 물체 중 관심물체를 배경에서 추출 후, 추출된 물체의 크기에 따른 지역탐색을 통하여 물체를 추적하는 방법이다. 그리고 본 논문에서는 ARM프로세서를 이용한 카메라시스템을 제작하여 실시간 추적을 실험하였다.

Automatic Colorectal Polyp Detection in Colonoscopy Video Frames

  • Colonoscopy is currently the best technique available for the detection of colon cancer or colorectal polyps or other precursor lesions. Computer aided detection (CAD) is based on very complex pattern recognition. Local binary patterns (LBPs) are strong illumination invariant texture primitives. Histograms of binary patterns computed across regions are used to describe textures. Every pixel is contrasted relative to gray levels of neighbourhood pixels. In this study, colorectal polyp detection was performed with colonoscopy video frames, with classification via J48 and Fuzzy. Features such as color, discrete cosine transform (DCT) and LBP were used in confirming the superiority of the proposed method in colorectal polyp detection. The performance was better than with other current methods.
