  • The tracking system on the moving vehicle is made up of two parts. One is a stabilizer which is flatting the system against the moving vehicle, the other is a tracker which is tracking the target. This makes use of the geometric information of the tracking target and that utilizes the dynamic information of the moving vehicle equipping the tracking system. Especially the stabilizer is very important for an ocean vehicle affected by wave, wind, and current. In this paper, the stabilizer of sun tracking system for a ship is developed.

  • The problem of small-signal stability is usually one of insufficient damping of system oscillations. The use of power system stabilizers to control generator excitation system os the most cost effective method of enhancing the small-signal stability of power system. This paper presents the fuzzy type stabilizing controller to damp out the sustained oscillation, which is observed in normal operation. through the comparative simulation with PI type power stabilizer under various system operating condition, the efficiency of fuzzy stabilizing controller with respect to nonlinear power system is verified.

  • The paper describes and presents the experimental results of a fuzzy control scheme applied to an electric power system. The fuzzy control scheme which was recently proposed by T. Hiyama and T. Nakano [1] is implemented on a digital processor with A/D and D/A converters and is tested on our laboratory system. The results show that the proposed fuzzy controller with optimal settings of its parameters gives better performance than the PSS (Power System Stabilizer) optimally adjusted. The problems encountered throughout the experiment are also discussed.

  • This paper describes the application of Fuzzy Power System Stabilizer(FPSS) for improving dynamic stability of power system. The Real-coding Genetic Algorithm(RGA) was applied to optimize gains of the inputs and outputs of the FPSS. The effectiveness of the proposed FPSS was demonstrated by simulation studies for single-machine infinite system. To show the superiority of the proposed FPSS, its performances were compared with those of Conventional Power System Stabilizer(CPSS) The proposed FPSS showed better control performances than the CPSS in three-phase ground fault under a normal load which was system condition in tuning FPSS. To show the robustness of the proposed FPSS, it was applied to damp the low frequency oscillations caused by disturbances such as three-phase ground fault under heavy and light load conditions. The proposed FPSS showed better performance than CPSS in terms of the settling time and damping effect for power system operation condition.

  • In this study, an adaptive evolutionary computation (AEC), which uses adaptively a genetic algorithm having global searching capability and an evolution strategy having local searching capability with different methodologies, is suggested. We applied the AEC to design of fuzzy logic controllers for a PSS (power system stabilizer). FLCs for PSS controllers are designed for damping the low frequency oscillations caused by disturbances such as tile sudden changes of loads, outages in generators, transmission line faults, etc. The membership functions of FLCs is optimally determined by AEC.

  • In this paper, we design the GA-fuzzy precompensator of a Power System Stabilizer for Thyristor Controlled Series Capacitor(TCSC-PSS) for enhancement of power system stability. Here a fuzzy precompensator is designed as a fuzzy logic-based precompensation approach for TCSC-PSS. This scheme is easily implemented by adding a fuzzy precompensator to an existing TCSC-PSS. And we optimize the fuzzy precompensator with a genetic algorithm for complements the demerit such as the difficulty of the component selection of fuzzy controller, namely, scaling factor, membership function and control rules. Nonlinear simulation results show that the proposed control technique is superior to conventional TCSC-PSS in dynamic responses over the wide range of operating conditions and in convinced robust and reliable in view of structure.

  • 본 논문에서는 전력계통의 저주파 진동 억제와 안정도 향상을 위해 적응 뉴로-퍼지 전 보상기(Adaptive Neuro-Fuzzy Precompensator, ANFP)를 설계하였다. 여기서 ANFP는 종래의 전력계통 안정화 장치(Power System Stabilizer, PSS)를 보상하도록 설계되며, 이 설계기법은 기존의 PSS 최적 파라미터를 구하는 방식과는 달리 현재 사용중인 PSS 파라미터를 고정시켜놓고, ANFP만을 추가하는 구조적인 장점을 나타낸다. 먼저, 학습 능력을 가지는 퍼지 전 보상기가 구성되며, 이는 발전 유니트의 입출력 데이터로부터 학습된다. ANFP는 학습의 특성을 가지기 때문에 보상기의 퍼지규칙과 소속함수는 학습 알고리즘에 의해 자동으로 동조될 수 있다 학습은 ANFP와 목표 제어기(desired controller)의 출력을 비교하여 평가되는 오차를 최소화하도록 수행된다. 사례 연구 들에서 다양한 동작 조건들 상에서 전력계통의 우수한 제동을 제공할 수 있었으며, 시스템의 동특성을 향상시킬 수 있었다

  • Passive Stabilization method and active stabilization method are mainly used to comprise a control system of platform stabilizer. Passive Stabilization method has demerits because of size and weight except that control structure is simple while active stabilization method using sensors can reduce size and weight, it requires high sensor technique and control algorithm. In this paper, a stabilizing controller using adaptive fuzzy control technique and floating-point processor(DSP) is suggested.

  • This paper presents a design of self_tuning fuzzy logic controller using Genetic Algorithms for power system stabilization. FPSS(Fuzzy Logic Power System Stabilized is applied to the KERI(Korea Electric Research Int.) power system simulator so that its efficiency can be investigated in real time control. Genetic Algorithms are used to determine fuzzy membership functions. Experiment results show the better performances with FPSS in comparison to no PSS.
