A Construction of Fuzzy Model for Data Mining

  • A new GA-based methodology using information granules is suggested for the construction of fuzzy classifiers. The proposed scheme consists of three steps: selection of information granules, construction of the associated fuzzy sets, and tuning of the fuzzy rules. First, the genetic algorithm (GA) is applied to the development of the adequate information granules. The fuzzy sets are then constructed from the analysis of the developed information granules. An interpretable fuzzy classifier is designed by using the constructed fuzzy sets. Finally, the GA are utilized for tuning of the fuzzy rules, which can enhance the classification performance on the misclassified data (e.g., data with the strange pattern or on the boundaries of the classes). To show the effectiveness of the proposed method, an example, the classification of the Iris data, is provided.

  • This paper presents a new short-term load forecasting system using data mining. Since the electric load has very different pattern according to the day, it definitely gives rise to the forecasting error if only one forecasting model is used. Thus, to resolve this problem, the fuzzy model-based classifier and predictor are proposed for the forecasting of the hourly electric load. The proposed classifier is the multi-input and multi-output fuzzy system of which the consequent part is composed of the Bayesian classifier. The proposed classifier attempts to categorize the input electric load into Monday, Tuesday$\sim$Friday, Saturday, and Sunday electric load, Then, we construct the Takagi-Sugeno (T-S) fuzzy model-based predictor for each class. The parameter identification problem is converted into the generalized eigenvalue problem (GEVP) by formulating the linear matrix inequalities (LMIs). Finally, to show the feasibility of the proposed method, this paper provides the short-term load forecasting example.

숫자 인식을 위한 PCA 기반 pRBFNNs 패턴 분류기 설계 (Design of PCA-based pRBFNNs Pattern Classifier for Digit Recognition)

  • 본 논문에서는 필기체 숫자를 인식하기 위해 주성분 분석법(PCA) 기반 방사형 기저함수 신경회로망(pRBFNNs) 패턴 분류기를 설계한다. 제안된 패턴 분류기는 PCA를 이용한 데이터 전처리 단계와 pRBFNNs를 이용한 분류 단계로 구성된다. 전처리 단계에서는 PCA를 사용하여 주어진 데이터의 정보손실을 최소화한 특징데이터를 생성하고, 이를 분류 단계인 pRBFNNs의 입력으로 사용한다. 제안된 분류기의 조건부에서는 Fuzzy C-Means(FCM) 클러스터링 알고리즘으로 구성하였고, 연결가중치는 1차 선형식을 사용하였다. 결론부에서는 최소자승법(LSE)을 사용하여 다항식 계수를 구하였다. 제안된 분류기의 성능평가를 위해 대표적인 필기체 숫자데이터인 MNIST 데이터를 사용하였으며, 제안된 분류기의 결과를 기존 다른 분류기들과 비교한다.

  • In this paper, an Adaptive neuro-fuzzy Inference system(ANFIS) using fuzzy min-max network(FMMN) is proposed. Fuzzy min-max network classifier that utilizes fuzzy sets as pattern classes is described. Each fuzzy set is an aggregation of fuzzy set hyperboxes. Here, the proposed method transforms the hyperboxes into gaussian membership functions, where the transformed membership functions are inserted for generating fuzzy rules of ANFIS. Finally, we applied the proposed method to the classification problem of iris data and obtained a better performance than previous works.

기상레이더를 이용한 뉴로-퍼지 알고리즘 기반 에코 분류기 설계 (Design of Echo Classifier Based on Neuro-Fuzzy Algorithm Using Meteorological Radar Data)

  • In this paper, precipitation echo(PRE) and non-precipitaion echo(N-PRE)(including ground echo and clear echo) through weather radar data are identified with the aid of neuro-fuzzy algorithm. The accuracy of the radar information is lowered because meteorological radar data is mixed with the PRE and N-PRE. So this problem is resolved by using RBFNN and judgement module. Structure expression of weather radar data are analyzed in order to classify PRE and N-PRE. Input variables such as Standard deviation of reflectivity(SDZ), Vertical gradient of reflectivity(VGZ), Spin change(SPN), Frequency(FR), cumulation reflectivity during 1 hour(1hDZ), and cumulation reflectivity during 2 hour(2hDZ) are made by using weather radar data and then each characteristic of input variable is analyzed. Input data is built up from the selected input variables among these input variables, which have a critical effect on the classification between PRE and N-PRE. Echo judgment module is developed to do echo classification between PRE and N-PRE by using testing dataset. Polynomial-based radial basis function neural networks(RBFNNs) are used as neuro-fuzzy algorithm, and the proposed neuro-fuzzy echo pattern classifier is designed by combining RBFNN with echo judgement module. Finally, the results of the proposed classifier are compared with both CZ and DZ, as well as QC data, and analyzed from the view point of output performance.

  • Pattern classification is one of the most important topics for machine learning research fields. However incomplete data appear frequently in real world problems and also show low learning rate in classification models. There have been many researches for handling such incomplete data, but most of the researches are focusing on training stages. In this paper, we proposed two classification methods for incomplete data using triangular shaped fuzzy membership functions. In the proposed methods, missing data in incomplete feature vectors are inferred, learned and applied to the proposed classifier using triangular shaped fuzzy membership functions. In the experiment, we verified that the proposed methods show higher classification rate than a conventional method.

  • Support Vector Machine(SVM)은 통계적 학습 이론에 기반을 둔 분류기이다. 또한 Twin Support Vector Machine(TWSVM)은 이진 SVM 분류기의 한 종류로써, 서로 관련된 두 개의 SVM 유형 문제를 통해 평행하지 않은 두개의 평면을 결정하고 이 두 평면을 통해 분류기를 완성하는 방식이다. 이러한 방식의 TWSVM은 학습 시간이 SVM에 비해 훨씬 짧으며, SVM과 비교하여 떨어지지 않는 성능을 보여준다. 본 논문은 분류기 입력에 Fuzzy Membership을 적용하는 방식의 TWSVM을 제안하고, 전리층 레이더 데이터를 이용한 실험을 통하여 기존에 세시 되었던 분류기와 비교한다.

  • This paper presents an arificial neuro-fuzzy technique based prtial discharge (PD) pattern classifier to power system application. This may require a complicated analysis method employ -ing an experts system due to very complex progressing discharge form under exter-nal stress. After referring briefly to the developments of artificical neural network based PD measurements, the paper outlines how the introduction of new emerging technology has resulted in the design of a number of PD diagnostic systems for practical applicaton of residual lifetime prediction. The appropriate PD data base structure and selection of learning data size of PD pattern based on fractal dimentsional and 3-D PD-normalization, extraction of relevant characteristic fea-ture of PD recognition are discussed. Some practical aspects encountered with unknown stress in the neuro-fuzzy techniques based real time PD recognition are also addressed.

  • Polynomial networks have been known to have excellent properties as classifiers and universal approximators to the optimal Bayes classifier. In this paper, the use of polynomial neural networks is proposed for efficient implementation of the polynomial-based classifiers. The polynomial neural network is a trainable device consisting of some rules and three processes. The three processes are assumption, effect, and fuzzy inference. The assumption process is driven by fuzzy c-means and the effect processes deals with a polynomial function. A learning algorithm for the polynomial neural network is developed and its performance is compared with that of previous studies.
