  • This paper deals with speed control of Sensorless DC servo motor using a FTHGO(FuzEy-Tuning High Gain observer). In this paper, we improved the problem from row speed section, the problem of sensor for detecting speed of motor, using FTHGO(Fuzzy-Tuning High-Gain Observer) with fuzzy control technique which is a class of adaptive control technique. In order to verify the performance of the FTHGO(Fuzzy-Tuning High Gain Observer) which is proposed in this paper, it is proved from the experiment to compare the case with a speed sensor to the case with FTHGO(Fuzzy-Tuning High Gain observer) in the speed control of DC servo motor.

  • This paper propose an optimal scaling gain tuning method of the fuzzy PI controller using Genetic Algorithm(GA). Scaling gains can reflect the control resolution and fuzziness of input/output variables. By the scaling gain method, the design of a fuzzy logic controller(FLC) can be simplified without affecting the system performance in comparison with multi-decision table method. In designing a fuzzy logic controller, the analytic approach method for the optimization is unavailable. Therefore GA is excellent optimization algorithms for scaling gain tuning. Using this optimal scaling gain tuning method, a good performance can be achieved both in transient and steady state.

  • Designing actuator controllers of aircraft, which control aileron, flap, elevator and so on, is quiet difficult, because they have time variant nonlinear mechanical structures and also have many kinds of disturbances which are not been able to model easily. This paper reports about the performance of Fuzzy Auto gain tuning Control algorithm applied unmaned aerial vehicle. Fuzzy Auto gain tuning PID control uses PID control and Fuzzy control, therefore It can be applied very easily and it also has advances of PID control. It can control a unmaned aerial vehicle actuators adaptively even though the designer does not have enough information of plant.

  • This paper deals with speed-sensorless control of an AC servo motor using Fuzzy-Tuning High Gain Observer(FTHGO). Resolver or encoder can be used to measure a rotor speed, but it has a limit to detect motor speed precisely. To solve this problem, it is studied to measure a speed of an AC servo motor without sensor. In this paper, the gain of an observer to estimate motor speed is properly set up and designed using the fuzzy control theory. It calculates the differentiation of the rotor current of the AC motor and estimates the rotor speed using it. Proposed speed sensorless control is performed using the estimated speed as the control variable. Designed FTHGO is applied to AC servo motor to verify the feasibility of the proposed observer. Feasibility of the FTHGO proposed in this paper is proven comparing the experimental results with/without the speed sensor.

  • In this paper, we proposed a new PID tuning algorithm by the fuzzy set theory to improve the performance of the PID controller. The new tuning algorithm for the PID controller has the initial value of parameter Kc, $\tau$I, $\tau$D by the Ziegler-Nichols formula using the ultimate gain and ultimate period from a relay tuning experiment. We get error and error change of plant output correspond to the initial value and new proportion gain(Kc) and integral time($\tau$I) from fuzzy tunner. This fuzzy tuning algorithm for PID controller considerably reduced overshoot and rise time compare to any other PID controller tuning algorithms. In real parametric uncertainty systems, the PID controller with Fuzzy auto-tuning give appreciable improvement in the performance. The significant properties of this algorithm is shown by simulation In this paper, we proposed a new PID algorithm by the fuzzy set theory to improve the performance of the PID controller.

  • In this paper, We propose the fuzzy controller for the gain tuning of PID controller The proposed controller doesn't use the crisp output error and rule tables though with a fuzzy inference process in forward fuzzifier, New Fuzzy PID Controller assigns relations and ranges of two variables of PID gain parameters. These new gain parameters are calculated by the fuzzy inference with max-min ranges of Kp and Kd. The Ki parameter is computed automatically between Kp and Kd parameter Is calculated by Ziegler-Nickels tuning rules. Finally we experimented the propose controller by the hydraulic servo motor control system. We can obtained desired results through the good control characteristics.

  • The fuzzy self-tuning PID controller is a PID controller with a fuzzy logic mechanism for tuning its gains on-line. In this structure, the proportional, integral and derivative gains are tuned on-line with respect to the change of the output of system under control. This paper deals with two types of fuzzy self-tuning PID controllers, rule-based fuzzy PID controller and learning fuzzy PID controller. As a medical application of fuzzy PID controller, the proposed controllers were implemented and evaluated in a laparoscopic surgery robot system. The proposed fuzzy PID structures maintain similar performance as conventional PID controller, and enhance the position tracking performance over wide range of varying input. For precise approximation, the fuzzy PID controller was realized using the linear reasoning method, a type of product-sum-gravity method. The proposed controllers were compared with conventional PID controller without fuzzy gain tuning and was proved to have better performance in the experiment.

  • Generally, PI control is simple and easy to implement and gains of PI control are determined by specifying a dynamics of the servo driver system. However, the gain-tuning is so difficult that it is relied on an expert's effort. This paper presents a gain auto-tuning method for PI controllers based on a fuzzy inference mechanism. First, the proposed fuzzy inference system identifies a system moment of inertia and adjusts control gains by using the difference in speed responses between a real plant and a reference model. Second, this paper proposes an improved fuzzy PI controller. To reduce the speed overshoot, we adapt a control method that selects a proper PI gains with respect to the load inertia variation. To prove the validity of the proposed gain tuning algorithm and the feasibility of the servo drive, a high performance servo drive will be implemented by DSP(TMS320C31) and intelligent power module (IPM). The proposed controller is applied to the speed control of the 300W AC servo motor. Some simulations and experimental results show that the proposed fuzzy PI controller is more robust than the conventional PI controller against the load inertia variation.

Gain Tuning of a Fuzzy Logic Controller Superior to PD Controllers in Motor Position Control

  • Although the fuzzy logic controller is superior to the proportional integral derivative (PID) controller in motor control, the gain tuning of the fuzzy logic controller is more complicated than that of the PID controller. Using mathematical analysis of the proportional derivative (PD) and fuzzy logic controller, this study proposed a design method of a fuzzy logic controller that has the same characteristics as the PD controller in the beginning. Then a design method of a fuzzy logic controller was proposed that has superior performance to the PD controller. This fuzzy logic controller was designed by changing the envelope of the input of the of the fuzzy logic controller to nonlinear, because the fuzzy logic controller has more degree of freedom to select the control gain than the PD controller. By designing the fuzzy logic controller using the proposed method, it simplified the design of fuzzy logic controller, and it simplified the comparison of these two controllers.

  • The Auto Tuning Controller is designed using Fuzzy set theory. And to verify its validity it is Applied to the Auto Tuner of hydraulic Control System. Fuzzy Tuning Procedures are written by linguistic model and translated into C language formation by preprocessor. Then it is executed with state feedback controller in real time, Fuzzy Logic Controller adjusts state feedback gain by proper tuning logic in each step to satisfy the desired maximum overshoot and settling time.
