  • Data accuracy can be increased by detecting and removing the incorrect data generated in wireless sensor networks. By increasing the data accuracy, network lifetime can be increased parallel. Network lifetime or operational time is the time during which WSN is able to fulfill its tasks by using microcontroller with on-chip memory radio transceivers, albeit distributed sensor nodes send summary of their data to their cluster heads, which reduce energy consumption gradually. In this paper a powerful algorithm using proactive fuzzy system is proposed and it is a mixture of fuzzy logic with comparative correlation techniques that ensure high data accuracy by detecting incorrect data in distributed wireless sensor networks. This proposed system is implemented in two phases there, the first phase creates input space partitioning by using robust fuzzy c means clustering and the second phase detects incorrect data and removes it completely. Experimental result makes transparent of combined correlated fuzzy system (CCFS) which detects faulty readings with greater accuracy (99.21%) than the existing one (98.33%) along with low false alarm rate.

  • Clustering is one of the well-known unsupervised learning methods, in which a data set is grouped into some number of homogeneous clusters. There are numerous clustering algorithms available and they have been used in various applications. Fuzzy c-means (FCM), the most well-known partitional clustering algorithm, was established in 1970's and still in use. However, there are some unsolved problems in FCM and variants of FCM are still under development. In this paper, the problems in FCM are first explained and the available solutions are investigated, which is aimed to give researchers some possible ways of future research. Most of the FCM variants try to solve the problems using domain knowledge specific to a given problem. However, in this paper, we try to give general solutions without using any domain knowledge. Although there are more things left than discovered, this paper may be a good starting point for researchers newly entered into a clustering area.

  • In this paper, we have designed and implemented cluttering classification systems- unsupervised classifiers-for the processing of satellite remote sensing images. Implemented systems adopt various design patterns which include a factory pattern and a strategy pattern to support various satellite images'formats and to design compatible systems. The clustering systems consist of sequential clustering, K-Means clustering, ISODATA clustering and Fuzzy C-Means clustering classifiers. The systems are tested by using a Landsat TM satellite image for the classification input. As results, these clustering systems are well designed to extract sample data for the classification of satellite images of which there is no previous knowledge. The systems can be provided with real-time base clustering tools, compatibilities and components' reusabilities as well.

  • Missing values in data for fuzzy c-menas clustering is discussed. Two basic methods of fuzzy c-means, i.e., the standard fuzzy c-means and the entropy method are considered and three options of handling missing values are proposed, among which one is to define a new distance between data with missing values, second is to alter a weight in the new distance, and the third is to fill the missing values by an appropriate numbers. Experimental Results are shown.

  • Image segmentation is teh important step in image infromation extraction for computer vison sytems. Fuzzy clustering methods have been used extensively in color image segmentation. Most analytic fuzzy clustering approaches are derived from the fuzzy c-means (FCM) algorithm. The FCM algorithm uses th eprobabilistic constraint that the memberships of a data point across classes sum to 1. However, the memberships resulting from the FCM do not always correspond to the intuitive concept of degree of belongingor compatibility. moreover, the FCM algorithm has considerable trouble above under noisy environments in the feature space. Recently, the possibilistic C-mean (PCM) for solving growing for color image segmentation. In the PCM, the membersip values may be interpreted as degrees of possibility of the data points belonging to the classes. So, the problems in the FCM can be solved by the PCM. The clustering results by just PCM are not smoothly bounded, and they often have holes. So, the region growing was used as a postprocessing. In our experiments, we illustrated that the proposed method is reasonable than the FCM in noisy enviironments.

  • In this paper we introduce a modified objective function for fuzzy c-means clustering with logistic regression model in the presence of noise cluster. The logistic regression model is commonly used to describe the effect of one or several explanatory variables on a binary response variable. In real application there is very often no sharp boundary between clusters so that fuzzy clustering is often better suited for the data.

  • GBFCM(DM), Gradient-based Fuzzy c-means with Divergence Measure, for efficient clustering of GPDF(Gaussian Probability Density Function) in MPEG VBR video data modeling is proposed in this paper. The proposed GBFCM(DM) is based on GBFCM( Gradient-based Fuzzy c-means) with the Divergence for its distance measure. In this paper, sets of real-time MPEG VBR Video traffic data are considered. Each of 12 frames MPEG VBR Video data are first transformed to 12-dimensional data for modeling and the transformed 12-dimensional data are Pass through the proposed GBFCM(DM) for classification. The GBFCM(DM) is compared with conventional FCM and GBFCM algorithms. The results show that the GBFCM(DM) gives 5∼15% improvement in False Alarm Rate over conventional algorithms such as FCM and GBFCM.

  • In this study, we introduce a new architecture of fuzzy inference system. In the fuzzy inference system, we use Fuzzy C-Means clustering algorithm to form the premise part of the rules. The membership functions standing in the premise part of fuzzy rules do not assume any explicit functional forms, but for any input the resulting activation levels of such radial basis functions directly depend upon the distance between data points by means of the Fuzzy C-Means clustering. As the consequent part of fuzzy rules of the fuzzy inference system (being the local model representing input output relation in the corresponding sub-space), four types of polynomial are considered, namely constant, linear, quadratic and modified quadratic. This offers a significant level of design flexibility as each rule could come with a different type of the local model in its consequence. Either the Least Square Estimator (LSE) or the weighted Least Square Estimator (WLSE)-based learning is exploited to estimate the coefficients of the consequent polynomial of fuzzy rules. In fuzzy modeling, complexity and interpretability (or simplicity) as well as accuracy of the obtained model are essential design criteria. The performance of the fuzzy inference system is directly affected by some parameters such as e.g., the fuzzification coefficient used in the FCM, the number of rules(clusters) and the order of polynomial in the consequent part of the rules. Accordingly we can obtain preferred model structure through an adjustment of such parameters of the fuzzy inference system. Moreover the comparative experimental study between WLSE and LSE is analyzed according to the change of the number of clusters(rules) as well as polynomial type. The superiority of the proposed model is illustrated and also demonstrated with the use of Automobile Miles per Gallon(MPG), Boston housing called Machine Learning dataset, and Mackey-glass time series dataset.

  • In this paper, we introduce a fuzzy inference systems based on fuzzy c-means clustering algorithm for fuzzy modeling of nonlinear process. Typically, the generation of fuzzy rules for nonlinear processes have the problem that the number of fuzzy rules exponentially increases. To solve this problem, the fuzzy rules of fuzzy model are generated by partitioning the input space in the scatter form using FCM clustering algorithm. The premise parameters of the fuzzy rules are determined by membership matrix by means of FCM clustering algorithm. The consequence part of the rules is expressed in the form of polynomial functions and the coefficient parameters of each rule are determined by the standard least-squares method. And lastly, we evaluate the performance and the nonlinear characteristics using the data widely used in nonlinear process.

  • In this paper, we analyze the input-output characteristics of fuzzy inference systems according to the division of entire input spaces and the fuzzy reasoning methods to identify the fuzzy model for nonlinear process. And fuzzy model is expressed by identifying the structure and parameters of the system by means of input variables, fuzzy partition of input spaces, and consequence polynomial functions. In the premise part of the rules Min-Max method using the minimum and maximum values of input data set and C-Means clustering algorithm forming input data into the hard clusters are used for identification of fuzzy model and membership function is used as a series of triangular membership function. In the consequence part of the rules fuzzy reasoning is conducted by two types of inferences. The identification of the consequence parameters, namely polynomial coefficients, of the rules are carried out by the standard least square method. And lastly, we use gas furnace process which is widely used in nonlinear process and we evaluate the performance for this nonlinear process.
