Development of Layering System for Military Jacket based on the Factors of Comfort and Usability (쾌적성과 사용성에 기반한 군복의 레이어링 시스템 개발)

  • The aim of this study is to develop a model of layering system for future soldier system. Future soldier has been supposed to carry various digital devices embedded into the combat uniform. The combat uniform must be developed to be fit to soldier's body and movement, and can be felt comfortable to soldier. The Uniform must be studied in ergonomic and physiological component because it is different from the present one. It has many devices inside, so there are some unknown barriers to set the devices on to the body. For making the ergonomic aspect of future combat suits clear, the movement of the body was researched. The size of arms(3 parts), torsos(4 parts), and legs(3 parts) of people were measured by movement. Many dots were drawn on the testees' bodies every 3cm. Each time they made compulsory poses, the distances between dots be measured and analyzed. For making the physiological aspect of future combat suits clear, the thermo-map and sweating map of body were made. The 3 maps - movement, thermo and sweating- were overlapped. The devices for future soldier were arranged on the overlapped map considering relations between devices. The final layering system developed on the arrangement of devices.

  • This paper includes the algorithm of eliminating noise, the processing technique of sensor and the results of designing vital and environmental sensor, one of the survivability subsystem of Future Soldier System. In this paper, we propose the adaptive filtering, moving noise removal in order to detect signals stabilized. And these help that we get bio-signals the ECG calculating methods such as search back and ensemble method. It is made up the vital and environmental sensor including the flexible sensor. In that sense, this study can be applied when it is planned the modular type Future Soldier System.

  • Due to the continued demand for high-definition video, video compression technology is steadily developing and the High Efficiency Video Coding standard was established in 2013. However, despite the development of this compression technology, it is very difficult to smoothly transmit VGA-level videos in Ultra-narrowband environments. In this paper, the target information preprocessing algorithm is presented for smooth transmission of target images moving in forest or open-terrain in Ultra-narrowband environment. In addition, for algorithm verification, the target information preprocessing algorithm was simulated and the simulated results were compared with the video compression result without the algorithm being applied.

  • The purpose of this study is to develope a design prototype of 'Smart Battle Jacket' for the future soldier system. Future battle field is supposed to be the place where the information is the most important. Future soldiers are also supposed to get digital devices to have more possibility of survival in the battle field. To design the smart battle jacket that has digital devices inside, it's needed to forecast the body sizes and shape of the future soldiers, to research the human bodies and movements, and to study the functions of the digital devices and the relationship between the bodies and the devices. The usability of the 1st model for the Smart battle jacket had been tested, and the model had been corrected by the results from the test. After all, a smart battle jacket design prototype for the future soldier system has been developed.

  • The Female workforces opened the combatants which was not allowed so far including the artillery in the army, air defense, and etc. to the woman soldier in 2014. I exceeded 10,000 people in 2015 and it is in the plan to be expanded to 4,450 officers, 6,374 noncommissioned officers in 2017. A navy is the plan which selects the woman officer to board a submarine since 2017 and which I board over 3,000 t level in a submarine. But the institutional supplementation about this is insufficient although the woman soldier increased depending on the policy's decision. The role of the woman soldier was expanded and it was the time when the system developmental about the woman soldier management which is consistent with the future war aspect will have to be guaranteed, and the clear standard including the post circulation to the starting in advance of the woman soldier and human resource expansion and treatment, and etc. is required. I supplement the current regulation which I am applying as man soldier Army and the same standard although the woman soldier and man soldier Army has a difference and I analyze the phenomenon and the developmental solution should be suggested about the woman soldier people management.

Dynamic Slot Allocation Scheme in Tactical Multi-hop Networks for Future Soldier Systems (개인전투체계 다중홉 네트워크를 위한 동적 시간슬롯 할당 기법)

  • In this paper, we propose a dynamic slot allocation scheme to improve the slot utilization rate in tactical multi-hop networks in which the channel condition varies due to node movements. The proposed scheme takes advantage of the fact that nodes that are more than three hops apart can use the same slot simultaneously. The frame is divided into two parts: the control period and the data period. To know the available slot information within two-hop distance, the node exchanges a slot allocation information with one-hop neighbors during the control period. The node can get the information on idle slots that are not used within two-hop distance but assigned already to other nodes that are more than three-hop away. The identified idle slot can be used by the node, which increases the slot utilization rate. The performance analysis results of the proposed scheme show that it increases the slot utilization rate sufficiently despite the overhead of the control period in the multi-hop networks of the future soldier system.

  • 미래의 정보전의 환경 하에서 병사들은 전투 상황 중에 각종 정보를 획득하고 이에 신속히 대응하는 하나의 체계(system)로서 전투 임무를 담당하게 될 것이며, 미래의 병사들은 각종 첨단 장비들을 신체에 부착하고 전투에 임하게 될 것이다. 첨단 디지털 기기들을 추가로 휴대하고도 기동성과 움직임에 저해 받지 않고, 오히려 정보력 상승으로 더 나은 전투력을 갖추기 위해 장치 구성품들을 의복에 내장시킨 '스마트 전투복'을 입을 것으로 생각된다. 본 연구는 정확한 모션 캡쳐 솔루션을 지원하는 VICON사의 Motion Capture System을 이용하여 동작에 따른 체표변화를 측정하고 해석하여 적절한 신체 부위에 기기를 배치함으로써 미래 전장에 적합한 스마트 전투복 디자인을 개발하는 것을 목표로 한다.

  • In this paper, a study on variation of an accuracy rate as the gradient of a rifle is shown. In the a state of hostilities, a soldier is not easy to take a shot vertically against the ground. If a soldier shoots as the pistol is inclined, how the accuracy rate is changed. While the pistol is shot, the change of ballistic curve is estimated. And we also verify the accuracy rate through the firing test. Then we compare two results and present some ideas which overcome the decrease of an accuracy rate. Hereafter, it is possible to adapt in the future soldier system and expected that the accuracy rate of the conventional gun is maintained.

  • 미래병사를 위한 전투지원 시스템은 여러 가지 디지털 디바이스로 구성되며, 이러한 디바이스들을 적절한 위치에 분산시킴으로써 병사의 전투력을 향상시킬 수 있도록 설계하는 것이 중요하다. 분산 디자인을 위해서는 동작에 따른 인체의 변화를 측정하는 것이 중요하며, 특히 센서를 탑재하기 위해서는 인체 표면의 변화가 세밀히 분석되어야 할 것이다. 본 연구는 Moir$\acute{e}$ 계측방법을 이용하여 동작에 따른 체표변화를 측정함으로써 각종 디지털 디바이스를 탑재할 적절한 신체 부위를 알아내어 기기를 배치함으로써 미래 전장에 적합한 스마트 전투복 디자인을 개발하는 것을 목표로 한다.
