This paper describes the design of an ALU and a shifter for RISC. The RISC datapath is designed to have a 4-stage pipeline and a 20 MHz operating frequency. The ALU makes use of the 32-bit BLC adder which has the characteristics of high speed ane regular structuer and executes the arithmetic instructions-addition and subtraction- and the logical instructions-AND, OR, and XOR. Additionally, multiplication is possible by iterative executions of step instructions to perform shift and add operations. The shifter is implemented by using the modified of funnel shifter. The shifter is able to perform the arithmetic andlogical shift instructions without maskiog. Moreover, it carries out data align operation which conforms to big endian byte address. The logical operation of the desinged ALU and the shifter were simulated using YSLOG and VLSIsim. SPICE simulation results using 1.2um double metal process parameters show that the ALU and shifter have a delay time of 15.9NS and 9.9NS, respectively. Therefore, the ALU and the shifter operates correctly above 20[ MHz ] click ferquency and are composed of about 7K and 15K teansistors, respectively.
Recently, the antiwashout underwater concrete with an antiwashout admixtures has been increasingly used for underwater structures. However, the credibility of antiwashout underwater concrete was brought up as problems because it seldom was applied to fields. In this study, experiments were made on the basic properties of antiwashout underwater concrete replaced with fly ash up to 30% to improve its properties. Resultant to the test, we got the results as follow; funnel flow time was decreased, the slump flow was increased and the elevation of head was decreased rapidly whereas the amount of suspended solids became high, pH became low. In view of 70%, the standard ratio of compressive strengths between cast in water and in air, it was obtained the result that the ratio was over 90% at 28days.
Experimental tests on the high strength self-compacting concrete with light-weight fine aggregate and light-weight coarse aggregate(LHSSC) were performed with slump-flow, reaching time to the slump-flow of 500mm, V-funnel dropping time and U-box difference level and compressive strength. LHSCC with light-weight fine aggregate of 75% and light-weight coarse aggregate of 100% was only satisfied with the property conditions of second self-compacting concrete(SCC), like as flowability, resistance to segregation and filling ability. The 28-day compressive strength of LHSCC indicated above 300kgf/$\textrm{cm}^2$ in all concrete mixtures, and it was increased to increase the replacement ratio of light-weight fine aggregate or to decrease the replacement ratio of light-weight coarse aggregate. Therefore, for satisfying the properties of fresh SCC and hardened concrete with above 350kgf/$\textrm{cm}^2$, it would expected that the replacement ratio of light-weight fine aggregate and light-weight coarse aggregate will be determined with 50~75% and 25~50%, respectively.
In this study, the properties of super flowing cocrete containing gly ash were experimentally investigated and compared with those of ordinary concrete. Tests were carried out on five types of super flowing concrete mixes containing fly ash and three types of ordinary concrete mixes without fly ash. Flow test, O-funnel test, box test, Ltype thest and slump test were carried out to obtain the properties for the workability of fresh concrete. Compressime strength, splitting tensile strength, modulus of elasticity. creep and shrinkage test were also obtained as the mechanical properties of hardened concrete. In fresh concrete, it was found that super flowing concrete had excellent workability and flowability compared with ordinary concrete, and the volume ratio of coarse aggregate to concrete volume greatly influenced flowability. Super flowing concrete also had good mechanical properties at both early and late ages with compressive strengths reaching as high as 40 MPa at 28 days. The creep deformation of super flowing concrete investigated were relatively lower than that of ordinary concrete.
A theoretical analysis of an annular injection supersonic ejector equipped with a second-throat was developed under the assumption that the secondary flow is choked aerodynamically by interaction with primary flow in the mixing chamber. The predicted secondary flow pressure agrees reasonably well with the measurements. Using the analysis, the compression ratio, the secondary flow Mach number, and the location of the choking point were presented in terms of entrainment ratio.
One of the more promising proposals for guiding and focusing neutral atoms involves dark hollow laser beams. When the frequency of the laser is detuned to the blue of resonance, the dipole force the atoms feel in the light confines them to the dark core where the atoms can be transported with minimal interaction with the light. The ability of the all-light atom guides to transport large number of ultracold atoms for long distances without physical walls leads to the possibility of a versatile tool for atom lithography, atom interferometry, atomic spectroscopy as well as for transporting and manipulating Bose-Einstein condensates. Furthermore since the atoms transported in all-light atom guides do not come into contact with matter, they can in principle be used to transport antimatter as well. The ability to vary the core size of the hollow beam makes the all-light atom guide potentially useful for focusing neutral atoms. The atoms could be focused as tight as the core size of the hollow beam at its waist. This new focusing scheme, called the atom funnel, would not show spherical and chromatic aberrations that conventional harmonic focusing suffers from. (omitted)
In this study, filling performance of concrete is investigated experimentally for the developmenmt of the concrete to be used in concrete filled steel tubular columns with inner diaphrams. Water-cement ratio with 3 levels, unit water contents with 5 levels, unit coarse aggregate contents with 5 levels, and slump flow with 3 levels are selected for test variables. For the estimation of the filling properties of the concrete, slump flow, V-type funnel time, U-type box height are measured and compared. A device which simulates the steel tubular column is designed and three kinds of concrete are tested with it. As the results, the filling performance is decreased with increasing coarse aggregate content. And, within the scope of this study, concretes with coarse aggregate content less than 880 kg/$\textrm{m}^3$ show good filling performance. To prevent excessive settlement of the concrete pumped into the steel tubular column, slump flow should be controlled within the limited range.
In this paper, the medium strength self-compacting concrete with simple mix design method was manufactured and investigated about the properties of flowability and strength. Two types of binders like as fly-ash and RP(rock powder) were contained to the SCC in order to obtain the target medium strength of 270-350kgf/$cm^2$. The experimental tests about slump-flow, reaching time to the slump-flow of 50cm, V-funnel and U-box were carried out in accordance with the specified by the Japanese Society of Civil Engineering(JSCE). The mechanical properties such as compressive strength, splitting tensile strength and static modulus of elasticity were checked with the requirements specified by KS.
This paper investigated rheological properties of binder pastes for self-compacting high performance concrete. Six mixtures of self-compacting concrete were initially prepared and tested to estimate self-compacting property. Then, the binder pastes used in self-compacting concrete were tested for rheological properties using a rotary type rheometer. Binder pastes with different water-binder ratios arid flow values were also examined to evaluate their rheological characteristics. The binders were composed of ordinary Portland cement, fly ash, two types of pulverized blast-furnace slag, and limestone powder. The flow curves of binder pastes were obtained by a rotary type rheometer with shear rate control. Slump flow, O-funnel time, box, and L-flow teats were carried out to estimate self-compacting property of concrete. The flow curves of binder pastes for self-compacting concrete had negligible yield stresses and showed an approximately linear behavior at higher shear rates beyond a certain limit. Test results also indicated that the binders incorporating fly ash are more appropriate than the other types of binders in quality control of self-compacting concrete.
