With the development of the NB-IoT (Narrow band Internet of Things) and smart cities, coupled with the emergence of smart smoke sensors, new requirements and issues have been introduced to study on the deployment of sensors in large spaces. Previous research mainly focuses on the optimization of wireless sensors in some monitoring environments, including three-dimensional terrain or underwater space. There are relatively few studies on the optimization deployment problem of smart smoke sensors, and leaving large spaces with obstacles such as libraries out of consideration. This paper mainly studies the deployment issue of smart smoke sensors in large spaces by considering the fire probability of fire areas and the obstacles in a monitoring area. To cope with the problems of coverage blind areas and coverage redundancy when sensors are deployed randomly in large spaces, we proposed an optimized deployment strategy of smart smoke sensors based on the PSO (Particle Swarm Optimization) algorithm. The deployment problem is transformed into a multi-objective optimization problem with many constraints of fire probability and barriers, while minimizing the deployment cost and maximizing the coverage accuracy. In this regard, we describe the structure model in large space and a coverage model firstly, then a mathematical model containing two objective functions is established. Finally, a deployment strategy based on PSO algorithm is designed, and the performance of the deployment strategy is verified by a number of simulation experiments. The obtained experimental and numerical results demonstrates that our proposed strategy can obtain better performance than uniform deployment strategies in terms of all the objectives concerned, further demonstrates the effectiveness of our strategy. Additionally, the strategy we proposed also provides theoretical guidance and a practical basis for fire emergency management and other departments to better deploy smart smoke sensors in a large space.

Purpose: This study identified the planning trends for formal and informal learning spaces in the college of medicine through literature reviews. And then, by the analysis of the actual condition of existing domestic facilities, It was organized the architectural planning baseline data and future directions for the formal and informal learning spaces in the college of medicine. Methods: This study was conducted using literature reviews on the existing medical education method and learning space planning. Subsequently on-site surveys and questionnaires were conducted at existing facilities. Results: In the past, learning space of the college of medicine was considered only a formal learning space such lecture rooms, labs. But lately it has been turned into a total learning concept that embraces shared learning spaces such as libraries, student spaces, amenities and common spaces such as lobbies and hallways. ① Formal learning spaces are composed of teaching and practice areas. Since It is the basic functions that comprise the college of medicine, this paper conducted a functional analysis based on the current operating system of the College of Medicine and provided baseline data on architectural planning such as function, layout, zoning, and detailed planning. ② The informal learning sharing space was divided into a library area and a student well-being and convenience area to analyze the real conditions of domestic medical college. In addition, by comparing the trends and differences in foreign medical colleges identified by literature analysis, this paper summarizes the need to revitalize informal learning spaces and their integration into formal learning spaces, architectural planning considerations, etc. Implications: the evolution of the learning method and the flexibility of the learning space bring about changes in the learning space.

Rising publication costs and declining financial resources have resulted in renewed interest among librarians in resource sharing. Although the idea of sharing resources is not new, there is a sense of urgency not seen in the past. Driven by rising publication costs and static and often shrinking budgets, librarians are embracing resource sharing as an idea whose time may finally have come. Resource sharing in electronic environments is creating a shift in the concept of the library as a warehouse of print-based collection to the idea of the library as the point of access to need information. Much of the library's material will be delivered in electronic form, or printed. In this new paradigm libraries can not be expected to su n.0, pport research from their own collections. These changes, along with improved communications, computerization of administrative functions, fax and digital delivery of articles, advancement of data storage technologies, are improving the procedures and means for delivering needed information to library users. In short, for resource sharing to be truly effective and efficient, however, automation and data communication are essential. The possibility of using full-text online databases as a su n.0, pplement to interlibrary loan for document delivery is examined. At this point, this article presents possibility of using full-text online databases as a means to interlibrary loan for document delivery. The findings of the study can be summarized as follows : First, turn-around time and the cost of getting a hard copy of a journal article from online full-text databases was comparable to the other document delivery services. Second, the use of full-text online databases should be considered as a method for promoting interlibrary loan services, as it is more cost-effective and labour saving. Third, for full-text databases to work as a document delivery system the databases must contain as many periodicals as possible and be loaded on as many systems as possible. Forth, to contain many scholarly research journals on full-text databases, we need guidelines to cover electronic document delivery, electronic reserves. Fifth, to be a full full-text database, more advanced information technologies are really needed.

of expressed sequence tags (ESTs) is an efficient approach for gene discovery, expression profiling, and development of resources useful for functional genomics. To analyze the transcriptome of olive flounder, Paralichthys olivaceus, we have conducted EST analysis using cDNA libraries made from muscle of P. olivaceus. Redundant ESTs were assembled into overlapping contigs by using the assembly program ICAtools software. We found that the 221 ESTs were composed of 21 clusters and 35 singletons, suggesting that the overall redundancy of the library was 74.7%. Of the 221 clones, 218 clones (98.6%) were identified as known genes by BLAST searches and 3 clones (1.4%) did not match to any previously described genes. Based on major functions of their encoded proteins, the identified clones were classified into 13 broad categories. Sequence analysis of the ESTs revealed the presence of microsatellite-containing genes which may be valuable for further gene mapping studies. This study contributes to the identification of many EST clones that could be useful for genetics and developmental biology of olive flounder.

In this study, as examples of domestic libraries currently using the cloud-based library system, the main characteristics and issues that appeared in the experience of use divided into the processes of introduction, conversion, and operation of each system were investigated, and the results are as follows. First, it is said that new systems were introduced as alternatives to problems caused by the operation of the existing system, and the current products were selected because they were cost-effective. Second, the main issues in the conversion process were data migration work, implementation of existing service functions, and linking problems of internal and external systems in the library. Third, the main advantages identified in the operation process were cost reduction, simple installation and automatic management and maintenance, and convenient use in mobile devices. The main drawbacks were the difficulty of customizing that reflects the characteristics of the library, and the need for stability of the network. The disappeared role of the information technology librarian is the regular system inspection and maintenance support, and various new roles have been suggested. The responses of librarians and users to the new system were generally satisfied rather than dissatisfied.
In this study, a simulation model of the harmonic injection sensorless control technique is proposed. This model is suitable for the sensorless technique of low-speed area operation of motors. The motor of this model is permanent magnet motor. For sensorless control, 1kHz square wave is injected. The change in motor constant according to rotor position is realized by having different d-q inductance values. Sensorless techniques is implemented through functions of Simulink and models provided by Simulink libraries. It is shown that the harmonic component contained in the current is extracted using a filter, and the angle of the permanent magnet of the motor is detected using the extracted waveform. The validity of the simulation model is demonstrated through the estimated motor angle waveform and the related waveforms of the motor control applied to the 1kW permanent magnet motor.

Previously, we described a social media cloud computing service environment (SMCCSE). This SMCCSE supports the development of social networking services (SNSs) that include audio, image, and video formats. A social media cloud computing PaaS platform, a core component in a SMCCSE, processes large amounts of social media in a parallel and distributed manner for supporting a reliable SNS. Here, we propose a Hadoop-based multimedia system for image and video transcoding processing, necessary functions of our PaaS platform. Our system consists of two modules, including an image transcoding module and a video transcoding module. We also design and implement the system by using a MapReduce framework running on a Hadoop Distributed File System (HDFS) and the media processing libraries Xuggler and JAI. In this way, our system exponentially reduces the encoding time for transcoding large amounts of image and video files into specific formats depending on user-requested options (such as resolution, bit rate, and frame rate). In order to evaluate system performance, we measure the total image and video transcoding time for image and video data sets, respectively, under various experimental conditions. In addition, we compare the video transcoding performance of our cloud-based approach with that of the traditional frame-level parallel processing-based approach. Based on experiments performed on a 28-node cluster, the proposed Hadoop-based multimedia transcoding system delivers excellent speed and quality.

The purpose of this study is to explore the librarians' perceptions towards the changes in university library space in order to derive the future direction of improving the effectiveness of the renovation or new building construction and the efficiency of space reorganization of university libraries from the professional librarian perspective. For this, the study conducted a field survey of university librarians and further performed in-depth face-to-face or phone interviews with university librarians who are currently involved in the renovation or new building construction. The analysis results revealed that the changes in university library space were made for three major purposes: the securement of the space for diverse library objectives, the expansion of the latest IT facilities, and the securement of preservation space. Also the importance of the library space change considering pragmatic functions and utilization fit with the library's purposes, the creative space change reflecting the university characteristics, and the proactive and visionary roles of the librarians in such changes was brought up.
Abstract Up to now, a lot of efforts have been made for the management of telecommunication networks and equipment, but less effort has been made for the realization of higher-layer service and business management. There are recently worldwide growing interests for applying CORBA technology for the realization of higher layer Telecommunication Management Network (TMN) management functions. In this paper, we compare the features of TMN and CORBA with respect to information model, and operational behavior. And then, we propose a platform architecture for the efficient integration of CORBA technology within TMN framework. Within platform architecture, GDMO/ASN.1 to IDL translator has been designed and implemented for translating TMN management information into CORBA IDL interface. The TMN/CORBA gateway is also designed for realization of the interaction translation specification of JIDM task force. The libraries and code generators have been designed and implemented in a modular fashion to provide the functional extensibility.
