A dizziness case with functional cerebro-spinal therapy (FCST) was reviewed to explore the effect of FCST. The case was managed with Yinyang Balancing Appliance (YBA) and the TMJ Balancing Appliance (TBA), combined with acupuncture, cupping and herbal medicine. Clinical outcome measurement was performed based on subjective measures and clinical observation. The patient showed positive changes starting after the first treatment. Futher clinical and biological research on FCST is expected.

Objectives : The purpose of this clinical study is to evaluate the effect of Korean Medicine with Functional CerebroSpinal Therapy(FCST) on a tremor patient. Methods : A patient with tremor of one side was treated with herbal medication, acupuncture and FCST. The effect of treatment was evalutated by frequency of tremor. Results : After Korean medicine with FCST, symptoms were decreased and conditions were improved. Conculsions : The Korean medicine treatment with FCST might be effective for the tremor.

Objectives: The aim of this study was to report the effectiveness of TMJ balancing therapy and Traditional Korean Medicine (TKM) treatments on a thalamus cerebral infarction patient with hemiparesis and gait disturbance. Methods: The patient was treated with TMJ balancing therapy, along with korean herbal medicine, acupuncture, moxibustion, cupping and physical therapy. The motor function was evaluated through the Manual Muscle Test (MMT), Grasp power and Functional Ambulatory Category (FAC). And the daily life ability was evaluated by the Korean version of the Modified Barthel Index (K-MBI) and Korean National Institute of Health Stroke Scale (K-NIHSS). Results: After 17 days of TMJ balancing therapy and TKM treatments, the score of MMT did not improved, but the score of FAC, K-MBI, K-NIHSS improved. Conclusions: This study suggested that TMJ balancing therapy and TKM treatments could be effective for hemiparesis and gait disturbance in patients with thalamus cerebral infarction.

Objectives: Therapeutic effect of Yinyang Balancing Appliance of functional cerebrospinal therapy (FCST) for meridian and neurologic yinyang balance was observed in cervical dystonia cases. Methods: Two cervical dystonia cases were managed with the Yinyang Balancing Appliance on temporomandibular joint (TMJ), combined with acupuncture. Clinical outcome measurement was based on subjective measures and clinical observations. Results: The patients showed positive changes even after the initial treatment and this effect maintained over the follow-up period. Conclusions: Although it is not clear the effect is a sustaining or temporary in its nature, a positive effect was observed and further clinical and biological research on FCST is expected.

There are many studies that show the association between Parkinson's disease and temporomandibular joint disorder. However, no clinical studies have yet been reported that TMJ Banlancing Therapy (TBT) can treat Parkinson's disease. In this study, the applicability of TBT for the treatment of Parkinson's disease was investigated by reviewing several studies on the factors related to Parkinson's disease and temporomandibular joint disorder and clinical studies of patients with Parkinson's disease using conventional oral appliances and exercises. In summary, it is considered that TBT has a high potential for use in the treatment of Parkinson's disease, but it is thought that prospective clinical research is needed in the future to establish objective evidence related to this.
