Full-Color LED lighting system requires efficient control of the lighting color in order to easily achieve various color effects. In this paper, we present not only a portable color scanner using color sensors which can control lighting color directly from detected color but also methods to convert detected color to a complementary color, similar colors and so on. In addition, we propose a compensation method for measured sensor color to reduce measurement errors more than 50[%] in detected color. The developed color scanner is applied to control full-color LED ceiling light for emotional lighting.

Presented herein is a novel stereoscopic three-dimensional (3D) display system with active color filter glasses. This system provides full-color 3D images by applying the time-multiplexing technique on the original anaglyph method. By switching between the opposite anaglyph statuses, a full-color anaglyph is presented. A liquid crystal panel from a 3D monitor serves as an active color filter operating at 120 Hz. A display panel and a color filter are connected to one graphic card as a dual-link system, for synchronization. To test the quality of this system, a left/right-eye image separation test and an experiment with stereoscopic images were carried out. Although there was some crosstalk and blur, the system, as expected, provided full-color 3D display. This system overcomes a monochromatic 3D image, which is the major weakness of the original anaglyph system.
Full color holographic optical element fabrication using a photopolymer is proposed for a waveguide-type head mounted display. The fabricated full color holographic optical elements can be attached to the waveguide to replace the conventional couple-in and couple-out optics in the head mounted display. To implement the system, this study analyzed the optical characteristics of the photopolymer using three lasers (red, green and blue). Considering the color uniformity, a new laminated structure for a full color holographic optical element was also designed. The proposed system was confirmed experimentally.

Quaternions have been commonly employed in color image processing, but when the existing pure quaternion representation for color images is used in perceptual hashing, it would degrade the robustness performance since it is sensitive to image manipulations. To improve the robustness in color image perceptual hashing, in this paper a full quaternion representation for color images is proposed by introducing the local image luminance variances. Based on this new representation, a novel Full Quaternion Discrete Cosine Transform (FQDCT)-based hashing is proposed, in which the Quaternion Discrete Cosine Transform (QDCT) is applied to the pseudo-randomly selected regions of the novel full quaternion image to construct two feature matrices. A new hash value in binary is generated from these two matrices. Our experimental results have validated the robustness improvement brought by the proposed full quaternion representation and demonstrated that better performance can be achieved in the proposed FQDCT-based hashing than that in other notable quaternion-based hashing schemes in terms of robustness and discriminability.
This paper describes the realization of the full-color to the degree of nearest white light by compounding high brightness Red, Green and Blue LEDs with appropriate proportional index. Once these three colors; red, green and blue are mixed, they are genearlly additive mixing and produce white light color contrasted to negative mixing. The luminous efficiency is defined as the product of the efficiency(lm/w), which indicates the degree of perceptual response by the human eye to unit energy(W) of light emitted by an active display devises and as the conversion efficiency of the device from electric power consumed to optical energy produced. We will deduce the each number of LEDs theoretically and design several shapes of LED displays for the full-color. Finally theoretical predictions will be compared with the measured data with different type of display designs.

Rapid progress has been achieved towards commercially viable full color polymer OLED devices. New full color polymer OLED displays which incorporate a novel hole injecting-transporting layer show high efficiency, low operating voltage and long lifetimes. The performance of a 14.1" WXGA a-Si based solution processed AMOLED full color display is described.

White-emitting OLEDs have been prepared that provide emission close to 6500 K color temperature (D65) with exceptional stability and high efficiency. The combination of host and dopant materials offers significant improvement for full color displays, in terms of power consumption, with minimal changes in color and efficiency with current density. These features are important for fabricating RGB and RGBW full color displays using white OLEDs with color filters.
A new dithering algorithm, "Hi-FRC", to enable full (16,777,216) color display on LCD panel with 6-bit source D-IC's is presented. The conventional FRC can display only 16,194,277 colors. In addition, The LCD panel with Hi-FRC can meet the color grayscale linearity of TCO '03 because it can improve the color shift problem.
Purpose: For facial reconstruction, skin color match is crucial to achieve great aesthetic result. Forehead flap and full thickness skin graft have been used for many years to reconstruct facial defect. Their results are aesthetically valuable with remarkable resemblance and harmony of the skin color between donor and recipient sites. The purpose of this study is to evaluate and compare the aesthetic outcome of the two methods as the analysis of skin color match. Methods: From January 1995 to December 2005, ten forehead flaps and ten full thickness skin grafts were performed. The reconstructed areas of forehead flaps were five noses and five eyelids. Recipient sites of full thickness skin grafts were seven eyelids, two noses and one forehead. In order to obtain the objective validity, the skin color of flap(or graft) and the recipient sites were measured by chromameter. The skin colors were quantified according to a three-dimensional coordinate system used in chromameter, L*(brightness), a*(redness), and b*(yellowness). Results: There was no significant color difference between forehead flap site and adjacent skin in all color values. On the other hand, the L* and b* values of graft sites were significantly lower than those of the adjacent skins. The a* values of graft sites were higher than those of the adjacent skins. Conclusion: This study reveals that skin color match of forehead flap is greater than that of full thickness skin graft. As forehead flap has adequate volume and great color match, it can be useful to reconstruct deep facial defect such as nasal defect. On the other hand, full thickness skin graft can be used for superficial defect like partial eyelid defect.
Demosaicing, or color filter array (CFA) interpolation, estimates missing color channels of raw mosaiced images from a CFA to reproduce full-color images. It is an essential process for single-sensor digital cameras with CFAs. In this paper, a new demosaicing method for digital cameras with Bayer-like W-RGB CFAs is proposed. To preserve the edge structure when reproducing full-color images, we propose an edge direction-adaptive method using color difference estimation between different channels, which can be applied to practical digital camera use. To evaluate the performance of the proposed method in terms of CPSNR, FSIM, and S-CIELAB color distance measures, we perform simulations on sets of mosaiced images captured by an actual prototype digital camera with a Bayer-like W-RGB CFA. The simulation results show that the proposed method demosaics better than a conventional one by approximately +22.4% CPSNR, +0.9% FSIM, and +36.7% S-CIELAB distance.
