경계조건과 두께 변화에 따른 사각탱크의 진동 특성 (Vibration Characteristics of A Rectangular Tank in accordance with Changing Thickness And Boundary Condition)

  • Rectangular box type structures are used in many fields of civil, mechanical and marine engineering. Especially, Most ship structures are often in contact with inner or outer fluid, like ballast, fuel and stem tanks. Fatigue damages are sometimes observed in these tanks which seem to be caused by resonance with exciting force of engine and propeller. Vibration characteristics of these thin walled tanks in contact with fluid near engine and propeller are strongly affected by added mass of containing fluid. Therefore it is essentially important to estimate the added mass effect to predict vibration of the tanks. Many authors have studied vibration of rectangular tanks containing fluid. Few research on dynamic interaction among tank walls filled with fluid are reported in the vibration of rectangular tanks recently. In case of rectangular tanks, structural coupling between adjacent panels and effect of vibration modes of multiple panels on added mass of water have to be considered. In the previous report, a numerical analysis is performed for the coupling effect between panels of a tank on added mass of containing fluid, the effect of structural constraint between panels on each vibration mode for fluid region, and mode characteristics in accordance with changing breadth of the plates by using finite element method for plates and boundary element method for fluid region. In this paper, the coupling effect between panels of a tank on added mass of containing fluid, the effect of structural constraint between panels on each vibration mode for fluid region, and mode characteristics in accordance with changing length, thickness, and boundary condition of the plates are investigated numerically and discussed.

  • 항공안전 및 공역활용도를 높임과 동시에 항공기 소음, 조종사 관제사간의 교신, 연료소모 및 배기가스 등을 효과적으로 줄일수 있는 연속강하접근절차는 세계적으로 큰 기대를 모으며 확대 적용되고 있으며 한국에서도 많이 적용되어 환경적, 경제적 차원에서 많은 도움이 될 것으로 예상된다. 그러나 인천국제공항의 표준접근절차들을 면밀히 살펴본 결과 접근절차 중 일부절차의 최초접근지점에서의 고도제한이 다른 절차들에 비해 상대적으로 높아 조종사들이 연속강하접근절차의 목적에 역행하여 불필요한 항력장치를 사용하여야하는 경우가 종종 발생한다. 따라서 일부절차상의 문제점을 검토하여 연속강하접근절차의 취지에 맞도록 절차변경을 함으로써 안전하고 효율적이며 친환경적인 항공운항에 이바지하려한다.

  • 태양광 추진 항공기는 감시, 지구 모니터링, 통신 등에 대기 오염 없이 그리고 가까운 장래에 인공위성과의 가격 경쟁력까지 갖추게 될 수 있어 미래의 고고도 장기체공 임무수행을 위해 더욱더 그 중요성이 증대되고 있다. 그러나 전통적인 항공기 사이징 방법들은 태양광 추진 항공기에 바로 적용될 수 없다. 본 연구에서는 다양한 동력 시스템 구성품들이 태양광 추진 장기 체공 항공기의 사이징에 어떤 영향을 미치는지를 파악하기 위하여 에너지 균형 및 구속조건 연구를 수행하였다. 본 연구에서는 동력 생성과 연료전지의 재생 에너지 저장을 위한 광전지 모듈을 동력 시스템 구성품으로 고려하였다. 또한 본 연구 결과를 검증하기 위해 고고도 무인기에 이 새로운 사이징 기법을 적용하여 결과를 제시하였다.

  • The problem being considered here is the determination of optimal guidance laws for a launch vehicle for scientific missions. The optimal guidance commands are determined in the sense that the least amount of fuel is used. A numerical solution was obtained for the case where the position and velocity state variables satisfy a specified constraint at the time of thrust cutoff. The method used here is based on the Pontryagin's maximum principle. This is the method of solving a problem in the calculus of variations. In particular, it applies to the problem considered here where the magnitude of the control is bounded. Simulations for the optimal guidance algorithm, during the 2nd and the 3rd-stage flight of the Japanese rocket M-3H-3, are carried out. The results show that the guided trajectory that satisfying the terminal constraints is optimal, and the guidance algorithm works well in the presence of some errors during the 1st-stage pre-programmed guidance phase.

Scenedesmus sp.로부터 Taguchi 법을 이용한 지방추출의 최적화 (Optimization of Lipid Extraction from Scenedesmus sp. Using Taguchi Approach)

  • For the biodiesel fuel production from microalgae, the lipid from wet and dry samples of green algae Scenedesmus sp. was extracted by using various solvents and pre-treatment methods. Extraction yield of the lyophilized sample was better than that of dry sample. Chloroform/methanol (2:1, v/v) and ultrasonication or homogenization method were also selected as the most effective solvent and pre-treatment methods for lipid extraction, respectively. Under these constraint conditions, optimization experiment of lipid extraction was investigated by Taguchi approach using orthogonal matrix $L_9$ ($3^4$) method. The optimum extraction conditions of lipid extraction was obtained at pre-treatment of homogenization, extraction time of 5 hour, temperature of $35^{\circ}C$, and solvent ratio of 1:20 (w/v). Yield of extraction at optimized condition was 20.55% and it was 96% of total lipid content (21.38%) of Scenedesmus sp.

  • The main functions of excavator are mainly carried out by excavator attachments such as arm and boom. These components should be designed to be light as well as durable enough because their effects on the whole structure are significant. In this paper, an optimization procedure for lightweight design considering fatigue strength for excavator attachments is presented. The weight of attachments and allowable fatigue stresses at critical areas are used as objective function and constraints, respectively, in which design variables are the thickness of the plates of attachments. The simulated annealing search method is adopted for a global optimization solution. Besides, the response surface method using the artificial neural network is used to simulate constraint function for the sake of practical fast calculation. Some example case of optimization is presented here for a sample excavator. This weight optimization is expected to contribute to a considerable improvement of fuel efficiency of excavator.

가압경수로용 환형 핵연료의 간극 크기 다중목적 근사최적설계 (Approximate Multi-Objective Optimization of Gap Size of PWR Annular Nuclear Fuels)

  • In this study, we conducted the approximate multi-objective optimization of gap sizes of pressurized-water reactor (PWR) annular fuels. To determine the contacting tendency of the inner-outer gaps between the annular fuel pellets and cladding, thermoelastic-plastic-creep (TEPC)analysis of PWR annular fuels was performed, using in-house FE code. For the efficient heat transfer at certain levels of stress, we investigated the tensile, compressive hoop stress and temperature, and optimized the gap sizes using the non-dominant sorting genetic algorithm (NSGA-II). For this, response surface models of objective and constraint functions were generated, using central composite (CCD) and D-optimal design. The accuracy of approximate models was evaluated through $R^2$ value. The obtained optimal solutions by NSGA-II were verified through the TEPC analysis, and we compared the obtained optimum solutions and generated errors from the CCD and D-optimal design. We observed that optimum solutions differ, according to design of experiments (DOE) method.

내구성을 고려한 하부 컨트롤 암의 구조설계 (Structural Design of a Front Lower Control Arm Considering Durability)

  • Recently developed automotive components are getting lighter providing a higher fuel efficiency and performance. Following the current trend, this study proposes a structural optimization method for the lower control arm installed at the front side of a Vehicle. Lightweight design of lower control arm can be achieved through design and material technology. In this research, the shape of lower control arm was determined by applying the optimization technology and aluminum was selected as a steel-substitute material. Strength performance is the most important design requirement in the structural design of a control arm. This study considers the static strength in the optimization process. For the optimum design, the durability analysis is performed to predict its fatigue life. In this study, the kriging interpolation method is adopted to obtain the minimum weight satisfying the strength constraint. Optimum designs are obtained by the in-house program, EXCEL-Kriging. Also, based on the optimum model obtained for the static strength, the optimization of Index of Fatigue Durability is carried out to get th optimum fatigue performance.

  • This paper presents a hybrid algorithm for solving optimal power flow(OPF) in order to enhance a systems capability to cope with outages, which is based on combined application of evolutionary computation and local search method. The efficient algorithm combining main advantages of two methods is as follows : Firstly, evolutionary computation is used to perform global exploitation among a population. This gives a good initial point of conventional method. Then, local methods are used to perform local exploitation. The hybrid approach often outperforms either method operating alone and reduces the total computation time. The objective function of the security constrained OPF is the minimization of generation fuel costs and real power losses. The resulting optimal operating point has to be feasible after outages such as any single line outage(respect of voltage magnitude, reactive power generation and power flow limits). In OPF considering security, the outages are selected by contingency ranking method(contingency screening model).
