연소실 형상에 따른 연소 및 배기가스 배출물 특성에 관한 연구 (A Study on Combustion and Characteristics of Exhaust Gas Properties for Combustion Chamber)

  • This paper presents characteristics of combustion and exhaust gas properties according to variation of the combustion chamber for economy and emissions standards. In order to use combustion and exhaust gas properties data, it is necessary to build some data base, which use cylinder pressure sensor and emission tester. A feasibility and necessity of combustion pressure based cylinder spark timing control has been examined. So, this was obtained the coefficient of variation(COV) and the specific fuel consumption(sfc). Using the results of the test, the effects of the variable combustion chamber can be improved combustion stability and be reduced exhaust emission.

  • The concern on the greenhouse gas emissions is increasing globally. Especially, the greenhouse gas emission from fisheries is an important issue due to Cancun Agreements Mexico in 1992 and the Kyoto protocol in 2005. Furthermore, the Korean government has a plan to reduce the GHG emissions as 5.2% compared to the BAU in fisheries until 2020. However, the investigation on the GHG emissions from Korean fisheries has not been executed much. Therefore, the quantitative analysis of GHG emissions from Korean fishery industry is needed as the first step to find a relevant way to reduce GHG emissions from fisheries. The purpose of this research is to investigate which degree of GHG emitted from the major coastal fisheries such as coastal gillnet fishery, coastal dual purpose fishery, coastal pots fishery and coastal small scale stow net fishery. Here, we calculated the GHG emission from the fisheries using the LCA (Life Cycle Assessment) method. The system boundary and input parameters for each process level are defined for LCA analysis. The fuel use coefficients of the fisheries are also calculated according to the fuel type. The GHG emissions from sea activities by the fisheries will be dealt with. Furthermore, the GHG emissions for the unit weight of fishes are also calculated with consideration to the different consuming areas. The results will be helpful to understand the circumstances of GHG emissions from Korean fisheries.

Furthermore, the Korean government has a plan to reduce the GHG emissions as 4.8% compared to the BAU in fisheries until 2020. However, the investigation on the GHG emissions from Korean fisheries rarely carried out consistently. Therefore, the quantitative analysis of GHG emissions from Korean fishery industry is necessary as a first step to find a relevant way to reduce GHG emissions from fisheries.   • The concern on the greenhouse gas emission is strongly increasing globally. In fishery industry section, the greenhouse gas emissions are an important issue according to The Paris Climate Change Accord in 2015. The Korean government has a plan to reduce the GHG emissions as 4.8% compared to the BAU in fisheries until 2020. Furthermore, the Korean government has also declared to achieve the carbon neutrality in 2050 at the Climate Adaptation Summit 2021. However, the investigation on the GHG emissions from Korean fisheries did not carry out extensively. Most studies on GHG emissions from Korean fishery have dealt with the GHG emissions by fishery classification so far. However, follow-up studies related to GHG emissions from fisheries need to evaluate the GHG emission level by species to prepare the adoption of environmental labels and declarations (ISO 14020). The purpose of this research is to investigate which degree of GHG emitted to produce the species (hairtail and small yellow croaker) from various fisheries. Here, we calculated the GHG emission to produce the species from the fisheries using the Life Cycle Assessment method. The system boundary and input parameters for each process level are defined for the LCA analysis. The fuel use coefficients of the fisheries for the species are also calculated according to the fuel type. The GHG emissions from sea activities by the fisheries will be dealt with.   • The interest in greenhouse gases (GHG) emitted from all industries is emerging as a very important issue worldwide. This is affecting not only the global warming, but also the environmentally friendly competitiveness of the industry. The fisheries sector is increasingly interested in greenhouse gas emissions also due to the Paris Climate Agreement in 2015. Korean industry and government are also making a number of effort to reduce greenhouse gas emissions so far, but the effort to reduce GHG in the fishery sector is insufficient compared to other fields. Especially, the investigation on the GHG emissions from Korean fisheries did not carry out extensively. The studies on GHG emissions from Korean fishery are most likely dealt with the GHG emissions by fishery classification so far. However, the forthcoming research related to GHG emissions from fisheries is needed to evaluate the GHG emission level by species to prepare the adoption of Environmental labels and declarations (ISO 14020). The purpose of this research is to investigate which degree of GHG emitted to produce the species (swimming crab and snow crab) from various fisheries. Here, we calculated the GHG emission to produce the species from the fisheries using the life cycle assessment (LCA) method. The system boundary and input parameters for each process level are defined for LCA analysis. The fuel use coefficients of the fisheries for the species are also calculated according to the fuel type. The GHG emissions from sea activities by the fisheries will be dealt with. Furthermore, the GHG emissions for producing the unit weight species and annual production are calculated by fishery classification. The results will be helpful to establish the carbon footprint of seafood in Korea.

세 물체 간 마찰 완전 접촉 문제의 응력 특이성 거동 (Stress Singularity Behaviour in the Frictional Complete Contact Problem of Three Bodies)

  • This study investigates the stress singularity that occurs at the contact edge of three bodies in a frictional complete contact. We use the asymptotic analysis method, wherein we constitute an eigenvalue problem and observe the eigenvalue behavior, which we use to obtain the order of the stress singularity. For the present geometry of three bodies in contact, a contact between a cracked indenter and half plane is considered. This is a typical geometry of the PCMI problem of a nuclear fuel rod. Thus, this paper, specifically presents the characteristics of the PCMI problem from the perspective of stress singularity. Consequently, it is noted that the behavior of the stress singularity varies with the difference in the crack angle, coefficient of friction, and material dissimilarity, as is observed in a frictional complete contact of two bodies. In addition, we find that the stress singularity changes essentially linearly with respect to the coefficient of friction, regardless of the variation in the crack angle and material dissimilarity. Concurrently, we find the order of singularity to be 0.5 at a certain coefficient of friction, irrespective of the crack angle, which we also observe in the crack problem of a homogeneous and isotropic body. The order of singularity can also exceed 0.5 in the frictional complete contact problem of three bodies. This implies that the propensity for failure when three bodies are in frictional complete contact can be even worse than that in case of a failure induced by a crack.

Characterization of Polyester Cloth as an Alternative Separator to Nafion Membrane in Microbial Fuel Cells for Bioelectricity Generation Using Swine Wastewater

  • Polyester cloth (PC) was selected as a prospective inexpensive substitute separator material for microbial fuel cells (MFCs). PC was compared with a traditional Nafion proton exchange membrane (PEM) as an MFC separator by analyzing its physical and electrochemical properties. A single layer of PC showed higher mass transfer (e.g., for $O_2/H^+/ions$) than the Nafion PEM; in the case of oxygen mass transfer coefficient ($k_o$), a rate of $50.0{\times}10^{-5} cm{\cdot}s^{-1}$ was observed compared with a rate of $20.8{\times}10^{-5}cm/s$ in the Nafion PEM. Increased numbers of PC layers were found to reduce the oxygen mass transfer coefficient. In addition, the diffusion coefficient of oxygen ($D_O$) for PC ($2.0-3.3{\times}10^{-6}cm^2/s$) was lower than that of the Nafion PEM ($3.8{\times}10^{-6}cm^2/s$). The PC was found to have a low ohmic resistance ($0.29-0.38{\Omega}$) in the MFC, which was similar to that of Nafion PEM ($0.31{\Omega}$); this resulted in comparable maximum power density and maximum current density in MFCs with PC and those with Nafion PEMs. Moreover, a higher average current generation was observed in MFCs with PC ($104.3{\pm}15.3A/m^3$) compared with MFCs with Nafion PEM ($100.4{\pm}17.7A/m^3$), as well as showing insignificant degradation of the PC surface, during 177 days of use in swine wastewater. These results suggest that PC separators could serve as a low-cost alternative to Nafion PEMs for construction of cost-effective MFCs.

건설장비의 CO2배출량 실시간 측정방법 개발을 위한 CO2 및 유속센서의 활용 (The Application of CO2 and Hydrometer Sensor for Development of Real Time Measuring Method on CO2 Emission of Construction Equipment)

  • 지구온난화의 원인인 $CO_2$를 줄이기 위한 연구들이 전(全) 산업분야에서 활발하게 진행되고 있는 가운데, 건설분야에서도 $CO_2$의 발생을 최소화하려는 연구들이 다양하게 추진되고 있다. $CO_2$ 발생량 최소화를 위한 연구는 $CO_2$ 배출량을 기반으로 하고 있는데 $CO_2$배출량을 산정하는 방법은 크게 연료사용량 대비 탄소배출계수를 이용한 방법, LCA기반 방법론 그리고 산업연관표를 이용한 방법으로 나뉜다. 특히 연료사용량을 기반으로 탄소배출계수를 이용하는 방법은 IPCC 에서 3가지 방법(Tier1~Tier3)을 권장하고 있다. 이 중 현재 가장 많이 활용되고 있는 방법이 Tier1으로서 연료사용량과 탄소배출계수만을 이용하는 방법이다. 그러나 이 방법은 차종별 이동거리가 반영되지 않을 뿐 아니라 주행환경 등의 반영이 안되기 때문에 정확한 $CO_2$배출량을 산정할 수 없다. 특히 건설프로젝트 는 프로젝트의 특성에 따라 이산화탄소 배출량은 달라질 수 있다. 하지만 현재의 방법으로는 이러한 차이를 제대로 반영할 수 없다. 따라서 개별 프로젝트의 특성을 반영하여 이산화탄소 배출량을 산정하는 방법론이 필요하며 이러한 방법론의 가장 핵심은 에너지를 사용하는 건설장비의 이산화탄소 배출량을 직접 측정하는 것이다. 본 연구에서는 건설과정에서 발생하는 이산화탄소의 배출량 산정방법론을 개발하기 위한 연구로서 건설장비의 이산화탄소 배출량을 실시간으로 측정할 수 있는 방법의 제안을 목적으로 한다.

Analysis of the Efficiency of Improved Bubble Sheet for Heat Curing in Cold Weather

  • When building with concrete in cold weather, an insulation method of heat curing must be determined, and a holistic curing plan that considers the characteristics of structures, the heat loss coefficient of a curing sheet, the joint condition of the curing materials and the quantity of heat produced by a heating apparatus is an essential prerequisite for protection against early frost damage. But on a number of national construction sites, there have been serious problems in cold weather concreting due to the unreliability of the information obtained from practical experience. In the construction field in Japan, there is a specification for heat curing prepared by Japanese Architectural Society, which provides an equation for calculating heat quantity. It is also necessary to adopt a detailed specification for a standard heat curing method that is applicable to all national construction sites. In this study, the effect of bubble sheets on the economic feasibility of cold weather concrete is investigated through a comparison with the blue sheets commonly prescribed in national construction sites. In conclusion, this study found that bubble sheets had the effect of reducing the cost of curing materials and the fuel cost consumed by a heating apparatus, compared to the use of blue sheets.

흡기 선회유동 및 연소인자가 V8형 TCI 디젤엔진의 성능 및 배출가스특성에 미치는 영향 (Effects of Intake Swirl and Combustion Parameters on the Performance and Emission in a V8 Type Turbocharged Intercooler Diesel Engine)

  • The Effects of intake swirl and combustion parameters on the performance and emission characteristics in a V8 type turbocharged intercooler D.I. diesel engine of the displacement $16.7\iota$ were studied experimentally in this paper. Generally the swirl in the combustion process of diesel engine promotes mixing of the injection fuel and the intake air. Also, TCI diesel engine is put to practically use intercooler in order to increase boost efficiency which is cooled boost air. As a result of steady flow test, when the swirl ratio is increased, the mean flow coefficient is decreased, whereas the Gulf factor is increased. And through engine test, its can be effected to meet performance and emission by optimizing the main parameters; the swirl ratio is 2.25, compression ratio is 17.5, combustion bowl is re-entrant $8.5^{\circ}$, nozzle hole diameter is $\phi0.33^{\ast}3+\phi0.35^{\ast}2$, injection timing is BTDC $12^{\circ}CA$ and turbocharger is T02 model which are compressor 0.6A/R+46trim and turbine 1.0A/R+57trim.
