  • The objective of the study was to provide fun-damental data on somatotype for elderly women by classifying the somatotype and analyzing the characteristics of their somatotype. The subjects were 368 women ages of 60∼84, they were measured direct anthropometry. In or-der to find out differences among the age groups, the 368 subjects were grouped into two age groups(Group 1 aged 60 to 69, Group 2 ; aged 70 to 84) Data were analyzed using Factor analysis, Cluster analysis, Duncan test and Analysis of variance. The results of this study were as follows. 1. The characteristics of Elderly women's somatotype were bending of the upper-torso, fat-ness of the waist and abdomen, drooping of the bust and shoulder and hip. In addition, height, girth, depth and width items were decreased in their sizes respectively. 2. Through the factor analysis, we extracted 5 factors from anthropometric measurements. Factor components were obesity, height, girth of the leg and arm, length of the upper-torso except the center front length, the center front length, we categorized by 4 clusters using 5 factor scores. And after the cluster analysis using 5 factor scores, 4 clusters were categorized. The characteristics of clusters were as follows. Type 1 was characterized by short, obesity type, and droopy bust. Type 2 was characterized by short and slender type, dropped bust, and bending somatotype from the lateral view. Type 3 was characterized by middle sized and straight somatotype from the lateral view. Type 4 was characterized by tall and obese type from the lateral view.

  • This paper proposes a dynamic-tiling-based bandwidth-efficient (DTBE) virtual reality (VR) streaming scheme. We consider 360-degree VR contents with multiple view points such as the front, back, upper, and bottom sides. At a given time, the focus of a client is always bound to a certain view among multiple view points. By utilizing this perspective, under our proposed scheme, tiles with high encoding rates are selectively assigned to the focused view where multiple view points consist of multiple tiles with different encoding rates. The other tiles with low encoding rates are assigned to the remaining view points. Furthermore, for reducing view adaptation delay, we design a novel rapid view adaptation mechanism that selectively delivers an I-frame during view point updates by using frame indexing. We implement the proposed scheme on a commercial VR test bed where we adopt the MPEG media transport (MMT) standard with high-efficiency video coding (HEVC) tile modes. The measurement-based experiments show that the proposed scheme achieves an average data usage reduction of almost 65.2% as well as average view adaptation delay reduction of almost 57.7%.

  • Man-heo-Jeong, which was located in the middle of the Sibri bamboo grove near by Tae-hwa river in Ulsan, was a Jeong-ja(a kind of pavilion) by Park Chui-moon, both a military officer and a nationwide town chief. Now we can presume the appearance of Man-heo-Jeong, referring to the old map describing old Ulsan districts and to old literatures of Park Chui-moon's family describing downtown of Ulsan of that times. It is estimated that the size of Manheo-Jung was constructed three-bay in front view, one point half-bay in side view and terrace in the fore front. Its space composition was designed likewise one-bay was both sides and in the middle there was one-bay Maru called joong-dang-hyeob-sil type. Such a structure made people to enter from the back entrance of gazabo and look the front view dramatically.

  • Just as the front gate is located at the meeting point between the house and the street, the Subject and the Other face each other the same way. This study examines the relationship between House(subject) and Stree (other) at the boundary of the Front Gate-Face. Pursuing the aspects of the changing Front Gate-Face accordingly to the attitude of the Subject facing the Other, this study tries to analyze the possibilities and significance of the hospitality Front Gate-Face with the ethical point of view of Levinas. As architectural instance, results of examining the Front Gate-Face of traditional houses in Korea, China and Japan are as follows. Front Gate-Face of China is characterized by self-centered introversion to interact with the external world (the other). Front Gate-Face of Japan is characterized by a humble submission to the group. Front Gate-Face of Korea shows however more flexible relationship orientations in terms of hospitality, compared to Japan or China. When looking through hospitality factors, accordingly to the above mentioned Korean hospitality characteristics, the possibilities seem not be exclusively bordered inside the conceptual category perimeter suggested by Levinas' concept of hospitality. It is almost impossible for the nowadays ever-strong privacy culture to not allow room for the architectural structure of an absolute hospitality toward others. However, this impossibility not being absolute, still yields a space for a significant possibility to explore.

  • Objective: To investigate whether the accuracy of 3D laser scanning is influenced by the angles and number of scans. Methods: Using a 3D laser scanner, 10 manikins with facial markers were scanned at 7 horizontal angles (front view and at $20^{\circ}$, $45^{\circ}$, and $60^{\circ}$ angles on the right and left sides). Three-dimensional facial images were reconstructed by 6 methods differing in the number and angles of scans, and measurements of these images were compared to the physical measurements from the manikins. Results: The laser scan images were magnified by 0.14 - 0.26%. For images reconstructed by merging 2 scans, excluding the front view; and by merging 3 scans, including the front view and scans obtained at $20^{\circ}$ on both sides; several measurements were significantly different than the physical measurements. However, for images reconstructed by merging 3 scans, including the front view; and 5 scans, including the front view and scans obtained at $20^{\circ}$ and $60^{\circ}$ on both sides; only 1 measurement was significantly different. Conclusions: These results suggest that the number and angle of scans influence the accuracy of 3D laser scanning. A minimum of 3 scans, including the front view and scans obtained at more than $45^{\circ}$ on both sides, should be integrated to obtain accurate 3D facial images.

  • Walled town was located on the axis connecting symbolic places, which was a feng-shui lucky place of a mountain sits to the rear and a body of water sits to the front. It represents environmental development of cultural space by blend of folk belief, religion, social system, administration facilities and living culture buildings. Therefore it is sustainable cultural view connected of formed or formless religious view and artificial view(wall, government buildings, living houses, and cultivated land so on) in a nature landscape. Environmental design technique, enlarging its meaning and value of living to mental level was founded from space composition and settlement, which was constructed organized space of government and residence area of walled town within the wall for looking for lucky place(from best, better, and good places) in order to construct ecological network (天+地+人, 山+水+方位+人, 地理+生利+山水+人心) by outlook of space and settlement.

  • As a faithful study about the intended plan of builder, this article studied the Dosanseodang(陶山書堂) which is located in the Dosanseodang(陶山書堂). The Dosanseowon is one of the representative Yi-Dynasty' Seowons. Through the review of $\ulcorner$The Writings of Toegye$\lrcorner$. It is found several intended plan of the Dosanseodang(陶山書 堂) as follows. 1. When Toegye located the site of the Dosanseodang in the Dosan, using four criteria such as 1) geographical characteristics(地 理), 2) hills and waters(山水) 3) form and orientation of valley, 4) so-cial characteristics. 2. In the Dosan area, the location of Seodang was determined by the physical characteristics of the valley(orientation and entrance), not by the concept of Fung-sui(風水). 3. The whole spatial structure of Seodang area formed triangle, and the Dosanseodang was located at the angular point of the triangle. 4. The landscape elements of the Dosanseodang falled into the three landscape hierarchy such as a front view, a middle view, and a distance view. Besides the three views, there was a borrowed view which Toegye defined in terms of ownership.

  • Formula race car is generally recognized as a vehicle which is optimally designed for on-road race track with the regulations of race host bodies. Especially, the uprights of suspension system decisively have effects on the performance of cornering and stability of race car's driving performance, which are very important factors in the design of race car. This paper is a study of optimal upright design of F1800 grade formula race car which are normally used in professional race circuit in Korea. To design optimally the front upright of F1800 formula race car, Taguchi's orthogonal array, which is known for more useful method than full factorial design experimental method in cost and time, is used with CAE method such as FEM analysis. And the result of this paper shows that Taguchi's orthogonal array employed for this optimal design is very useful for designing the front upright of race car by minimizing its weight as well as keeping its safety factor as enough as designer wants in the view of quality, cost and delivery at the early design step.

  • The widely used spot welded section members of vehicles are structures which absorb most of the energy in a front-end collision. In front-end collision, sufficiently absorbed in the front parts, the impact energy does not reach the passengers. Simultaneously, the frame gets less damaged. This structures have to be very stiff, but collapse progressively to absorb the kinetic energy as expected. In the view of stiffness, the double-hat shaped section member is stiffer than the hat shaped section member. In progress of collapse, the hat shaped section member is collapsing progressively, but the double-hat shaped section member does not due to stiffness. An analysis on the hat shaped section member was previously completed. This paper concerns the collapse characteristic of the double-hat shaped section member. In the program system presented in this study, an explicit finite element code, LS-DYNA3D is adopted for simulating complicate collapse behavior of double hat shaped section members with respect to spot weld pitches. And comparing with the results from the quasi-static and impact experiment, the simulation has been verified.

  • Forward collision warning systems(FCWS) and lane departure warning systems(LDWS) need regions of interest for detecting lanes and objects as road regions. In general, the lane departure warning system using a vehicle front camera is tracking a lane curve using RANSAC or the like in the form of a straight line obtained image are compared with the center of the vehicle. This algorithm has weaknesses that requires a wide range of the lane being vulnerable to the curve. This paper presents an algorithm that checks whether the current lane departure by car from the Top-view space. The algorithm also can check whether the vehicle in the lane departure of the narrow range, and shows the result that is almost not affected by noise.
