  • A linear elastic fracture mechanics analysis of double subsurface cracks propagation in a half-space subjected to moving thermomechanical surface traction was performed using the finite element method. The effect of frictional heat at the sliding surface on the crack growth behavior is analyzed in terms of the thermal load and peclet number. The crack propagation direction is predicted in light of the magnitudes of the maximum shear and tensile stress intensity factor ranges. When moving thermomechanical surface traction exists, subsurface horizontal cracks are propagation in-plane crack growth rate at the beginning but they are propagation out-of-plane crack growth rate by the frictional heat which is occurrence by the repeated sliding contact.

손상저감을 위한 접촉부형상의 고찰 (A Study on the Contact Shape for Failure Mitigation)

  • Method for contact failure mitigation is studied in this paper. The focus is laid on the contact shape that eventually influences the internal stresses. Contact mechanics is consulted within the frame of plane problem. Hertzian contact, rounded punch and uniform traction profiles are considered. Frictional as well as frictionless contact is also considered. As results, the higher traction profile induced by the rounded punch reveals the greatest among the considered shapes. Therefore, it is suggested to increase the edge radius as large as possible if a contact body of punch shape needs to be designed. It is also found that uniform traction cannot always provide the solution of contact failure mitigation.

  • The wear of rubber track being in contact with the road surface is an important subject because it decreases the traction performance and the operating efficiency of tracked vehicle. For the above reasons, many attempts have been made to quantitatively calculate the rubber track. However, it depends on the experimental methods which are highly time- and cost-consuming. Therefore, the numerical simulation approach is highly desirable, but it needs to model the complex geometry and the material behavior in details as well as the interaction with the road surface. In this study, the rubber track and its material behavior are elaborately modeled since these factors are very important in the prediction of the wear rate of the rubber track. Accordingly to the studies on the rubber wear by previous investigations, it has been found that the wear is greatly influenced by the frictional energy. The frictional energy of rubber track is computed by utilizing the 3D finite element analysis of the rubber track, and the wear rate is evaluated making use of the frictional energy and a wear model.

  • A numerical scheme is developed for the analysis of incipient sliding contact with orthotropic friction condition subjected to tangential load and twisting moment. The inherent nonlinearity in the orthotropic friction law has been treated by a polyhedral friction law. Then, a three-dimensional linear complementarity problem(LCP) formulation in an incremental form is obtained, and the existence of a solution is investigated. A Lemke's complementary pivoting algorithm is used for solving the LCP. The scheme is illustrated by spherical contact problems, and the effects of eccentricity of elliptical friction domain on the traction and stick region are discussed.

  • 마찰력(friction)은 급정지나 급출발, 또는 두 동작이 동시에 이루어질 때, 미끄럼방지는 효과적으로 이루어져야 하며, 특히 테니스, 농구, 배구 등 코트 스포츠에 있어서 최적의 마찰력은 필수적이다. 이러한 마찰력은 무게가 많이 나갈수록, 다른 물체와의 접촉면이 넓을수록, 장력이 클수록 커진다. 또한 표면이 매끄러울 때보다는 거칠수록 커지는 특성을 가지며, 본 연구의 목적은 테니스화겉창과 테니스코트에 설치되어 있는 스토츠바닥재사이에 마찰력을 대해서 고찰해 보고자 하였으며, 마찰력운동 및 이의 관련 선행 국외 연구활동이 어떻게 이루어졌는지를 종단적 국외문헌조사를 통해 어떤 상관관계가 있는지를 구명해 보고자 하였다. 국내 테니스화의 연구와 테니스스포츠바닥재간의 국외 연구활동의 종단적 연구지표로서 스포츠와 스포츠바닥재간의 마찰력 관련주요연구연표를 작성해 봄으로서 연구활동의 경과추이를 조사하였다. 테니스 바닥재 현황으로는 테니스코트의 표층재는 일반적으로 천연재료를 사용한 클레이계코트와 합성재료를 사용한 전 천후계 하드코트로 구별된다. 본 연구를 통하여 테니스화 겉창과 테니스 스포츠바닥재간의 마찰력의 국외선행연구현황 이해를 돕고, 향후 국내에서 스포츠화 겉창과 마찰력, 스포츠바닥재와 마찰력의 평가에 대한 연구시 국외에서 기 실시된 연구를 중복연구하는 시행착오 방지 및 국외 선행연구에 대한 기초자료 및 연구현황을 자세히 파악할 수 있을 것으로 사료된다.

  • CIIR에 BR, SBR 및 NBR을 다양한 조성으로 혼합하여 블렌드물의 마찰계수와 내마모특성 및 물리적 특성 변화 등을 검토하였다. 영구압축줄음율 측정에서 블렌드비율 25%에서 가장 높은 값을 나타내어 변형에 대한 저항 특성이 가장 낮은 것으로 나타났다. SBR, NBR, BR이 CIIR에 블렌딩됨에 따라 블렌드물의 마찰계수는 산술평균적으로 저하하는 경향을 나타내었다. 마찰력 향상을 위하여 BR에 CIIR을 블렌딩하는 경우 마찰계수 증가에 의한 접지력 향상보다는 내마모 성능 저하에 의한 마이너스효과가 더욱 큰 것으로 나타났다.

상승저항력을 고려한 로터리경운작업을 위한 승용트랙터의 설계 (Tractor Design for Rotary Tillage Considering Lift Resistance)

  • The purpose of this study is to develop design equations to calculate optimum specifications and dimensions such as weight, engine horsepower, etc. of the tractor necessary to perform stable rotary tillage. The main results of this study are as follows. 1. A wheel-lug ought to receive a special resistance in downward direction which resists the lug's upward motion on wet sticky soil surface. The authors introduce a new academic name of the "lift resistance(上昇抵抗力, 상승저항력)" for such a force which resists retraction of a wheel lug from the soil in the upward trochoidal motion. This force is composed of the frictional force acting on the trailing and the leading lug side, and the "perpendicular adhesion(鉛直付着力, 연직부착력)" acting on the lug face and the undertread face on adhesive soil. 2. The "lift resistance ratio(上昇抵抗力係數, 상승저항력계수)" and the "perpendicular adhesion ratio(鉛直付着力係數, 연직부착력계수)" were defined, which are something similar to the definition of the motion resistance ratio, the traction coefficient, etc. 3. The design equation of the optimum weight of a rotary tiller mounted on the tractor derived by calaulating the forces acting on the rotary blades. 4. The design equations to calculate optimum specifications and dimensions such as weight, engine horsepower, etc. of the tractor necessary to perform stable rotary tillage were derived. It becomes clear that the optimum weight of a rotary tiller and a tractor can be estimated in planning design by means of putting about 21 design factors of the target into the equation. These equations are useful for planning design to estimate the optimum dimensions and specifications of a rotary tiller as well as a tractor by the use of known and/or unknown design parameters.
