동결융해작용을 받는 암반사면의 안정성해석에 관한 연구 (Study on Stability Analysis of Rock Slope Under Freezing-Thawing Cycle)

  • Rock slopes along the road or railroad are affected by temperature and therefore experienced iterative freezing-thawing process between winter and early spring. The purpose of this study is to analyze the stability of rock slopes which are influenced by the deterioration due to the freezing-thawing. The analysis is the homogenization method which evaluates the strength property of discontinuous rock mass, and as a strength failure criterion, Drucker-Prager failure criterion is used. The deterioration property of real rock is obtained by a freezing-thawing laboratory test of tuff and this property of deterioration is quantitated and used as a basic data of stability analysis for rock mass. To evaluate the deterioration depth due to the freezing-thawing in situ rock slope, one dimensional heat conductivity equation is used and as the result I can find that the depth of which is affected by a temperature. After the freezing-thawing depth of model slope is determined, we analyze the pattern of rock mass stength value of rock slope model which excesses the limit of self-load.

냉동과 해동에 따른 국매리복 근육의 독화 (Muscle Intoxication of 'Gukmeri-bok' Puffer (Takifugu vermicularis radiatus) by Freezing and Thawing)

  • We here report that the muscle of 'gukmeri-bok' puffer fish (Takifugu vermicularis radiatus) is intoxicated after freezing and thawing processes even though it is not toxic when it is fresh. This study was carried out to investigate the effect of different freezing and thawing conditions as well as the effect of the presence of skin or viscera on the intoxication of muscle of 'gukmeri-bok' puffer during freezing and thawing process. As a result of this investigation, thawing condition, but not freezing conditions or periods played an important role in muscle intoxication. Tetrodotoxin secretory grands exist in the skin of toxic puffer fish, the skin was more responsible for the muscles intoxication than the viscera during the freezing-thawing process. In other words, no toxicity was measured in the muscle of skinned-frozen specimens even when thawed. According to this result, it is recommended that the skin and viscera must be removed before being frozen for edible purpose. Otherwise, when a whole fish should be frozen, alternative half-thawing and removal of skin from frozen specimens is recommended.

외벽측 급수관의 동결 과정에 관한 연구 (The Freezing Process of the Water Supply Pipe in an Exterior Wall)

  • In this paper, the freezing process of the water supply pipe in the exterior wall of an apartment house was analyzed by numerical method. The thickness of the pipe insulation and the percentage of insulation damage were considered as parameters in this paper. In the cases of the 0%, 8% and 20% damaged of the 5mm thickness insulation, the freezing was completed after 13 hours, 10 hours and 7 hours respectively. And in cases of the 10mm thickness insulation, the freezing was completed after 18 hours, 10.5 hours and 8 hours respectively. As a result, it is predicted that the water freezing would occurred when the water supply pipe with 8% or 20% damaged insulation are installed in the exterior wall. However, the water freezing would not occurred when the water supply pipe with 10mm thickness insulation of 0% damage is installed in the exterior wall.

  • In this study, a series of test was conducted to show the characteristics of freezing -thawing process on soilcrete using the soft clay in a redevelopment paddy area, was treated with cement and several additives such as Beestar, CaSO4 , MgO, and polypropylene fiber, From the results of test, it was found that first addtivies -cement and beestar-was effective for compressive strength, and the resistance against freezing -thawing process was improved by secondary additives, in the order their effectiveness, i.e. CaSO4 , Synthetic fiber, MgO and Beestar.

유한차분법을 이용한 깐밤의 동결시간 예측 (Prediction of Freezing Time for Peeled Chestnut using Finite Difference Method)

  • In this study, the thermal properties of peeled chestnuts were measured, and the mathematical prediction model of freezing time was also developed for various interior positions from center to rind (surface). The measured thermal properties were showed that heat conductivity is $0.43W/m^{\circ}C$, specific heat is $2.7206J/m^3^{\circ}C$, latent heat is $216.9{\times}10^6J/m^3$ and freezing point is $-2.8^{\circ}C$. The entire process about reaching to the freezing time of peeled chestnuts was analyzed with its each regular depth position using the finite difference method (FDM) based on computer simulation. In case of regular freezing temperature, it was showed an that surface (rind) position is more rapidly reached into the freezing point rather than the center position, and also reaching time to the freezing point is more fast at the lower freezing temperature. Comparison results between simulation and experiments showed linear relationship. In regularly varying condition for freezing temperature, this method would give an information to predict a freezing time of the interior points for peeled chestnuts and more similar agricultural products.

  • Currently as due to the rapid development of industry and increase in population we meet serious problems concerning the shortage and pollution of water. In the country many experts predict a shortage of water approaching 450 million tons by the year 2006. To cope with this serious problem it is necessary to construct desalination plants. In the adoption of a desalination system the most important factor is the cost of fresh water production,. In general LNG is stored in a tank as a liquid state below $-162^{\circ}C$. When it is serviced, however the LNG absorbs energy from a heat source and transforms to a high pressure gaseous state. During this process a huge amount of cold energy accumulated in cooling LNG is wasted. This wasted cold energy can be utilized to produce fresh water by using a sea water freezing desalination system. In order to develop a sea water freezing desalination system and to establish its design technique qualitative and quantitative data regarding the freezing behavior of sea water is required in advance, The goals of this study are to reveal the freezing behavior of sea water is required in advance. The goals of this study are to reveal the freezing mechanisms of sea water to measure the freezing rate and to investigate the freezing heat-transfer characteristics,. The experimental results will provide a general understanding of sea water freezing behavior in a rectangular vessel cooled from above.

CRM 개질아스팔트 혼합물의 소성변형 및 박리저항 특성 (Evaluation of Stripping and Rutting Properties of CRM Modified Asphalt Mixtures)

  • 본 연구는 산업부산물인 폐타이어인 #30 체를 거의 다 통과한 CRM 입자를 아스팔트 콘크리트 혼합물의 개질재로서 8%, 10%, 12%를 각각 습식 및 건식방법의 CRM 개질아스팔트 혼합물에 대하여 동결융해에 의한 수분취약성 시험을 통하여 동결융해저항성을 평가하였다. 건식 및 습식방법에 의한 CRM 개질아스팔트 혼합물의 배합설계를 통하여 최적아스팔트 함량을 결정하였고. OAC로 제조한 CRM 개질 혼합물은 반복주행시험과 수분취약성시험을 수행하였다. 그 결과, CRM 개질아스팔트 혼합물의 소성변형 저항성은 일반 AP-5 혼합물보다 우수하게 나타났다. 그러나 수분취약성시험에 의한 동결융해 저항성이 상당히 낮게 나타나 동결융해에 의한 수분취약성에 아주 민감한 것으로 나타났다. 반면에, CRM 개질아스팔트 혼합물에 박리저감제의 첨가는 동결융해에 의한 수분취약성에 대한 저항성을 상당히 향상시키는 것으로 나타났다. 따라서 국내에서 CRM 개질아스팔트 혼합물을 사용할 때에는 반드시 수분취약성에 대한 동결융해저항성에 대한 예방책이 제시된 혼합물을 사용될 것이 권장된다.

  • 일반적으로 철근콘크리트 건축물은 외부의 기후에 노출되어 있어 겨울에서 이른 봄까지 동결과 융해의 반복적인 작용에 영향을 받는다. 이러한 동결융해 작용은 콘크리트의 균열을 발생시키거나 콘크리트 표면의 박리를 일으켜 내구성 저하의 원인이 된다$^{1),2)}$. 본 연구에서는 철근콘크리트보의 동결융해 경험에 따른 반복하중 하에서의 이력 특성의 평가를 위해 동결융해 사이클을 변수로 하여 철근콘크리트보의 반복하중 가력시 거동을 비교하고자 6개의 시험체를 제작, 실험하였다. 실험결과를 통해 동결 융해에 노출되어있는 철근콘크리트보의 반복하중하의 이력특성을 평가하는데 기초적인 자료를 제시하고자 하였다.

  • 의료용 고분자로 널리 알려진 poly(vinylalcohol)(PVA)와 poly(N-vinylpyrrolidone)(PVP)를 이용하여 상처치료용 하이드로겔을 제조하였다. PVP 하이드로겔의 기계적 강도를 향상시키기 위해 PVA/PVP 혼합용액에 \"freezing and thawing (동결융해)\"을 반복한 후 방사선 ($^{60}$Co${\gamma}$-rays)을 조사하여 하이드로겔을 얻었다. PVA와 PVP의 조성비 (30 : 70 ~ 100 : 0), 동결융해의 반복횟수, PVA 분자량을 변화시키면서 PVA/PVP 하이드로겔의 겔화율, 팽윤도, 겔강도를 측정하였다. PVA/PVP 하이드로겔은 방사선 조사로만 제조되었을 때 보다 동결융해 반복 후 방사선조사했을 때 겔화율과 겔강도가 향상되었다. 이외에 동결융해의 반복정도에 따른 물성의 특징을 논의하였다.특징을 논의하였다.

  • The frost heaving pressure can be a problem for weakening of the railroadbed material. In this study, upon freezing a saturated soil in a closed-system from the top, a considerable pressure was developed. This pressure is induced as a result of a curved ice-water interface. This study was initiated to investigate the soils frost heaving expansion pressure and physical characteristics resulting from freezing and freezing-thawing cycle process. Weathered granite soils, sandy soil were used in the laboratory freezing test subjected to thermal gradients under closed-systems.
