In this study, because of change in electromagnetic force, deformation of the free surface motion of a magnetic fluid is changed. Deformation of the free surface motion of a magnetic fluid for the change in electromagnetic force is discussed and carried out theoretically and experimentally on the basis of Rosensweig Ferrohydrodynamic Bernoulli Equation. Objective of this study explicates free surface motion by electromagnetic force and planes to designed controller. To control free surface of magnetic fluid, it embody designed two-dimensional free surface form of magnetic fluid. By using this characteristics, they applied to oscillator for surface control, flow control, boundary layer control. Strength of magnetic field and height of free surface of magnetic fluid measure as a hall-effect sensor. As performing height control of magnetic fluid, the result will be presented possibility of free surface deformation control.
Here we consider the evaluation of the the dynamic component of the second order force due to wave diffraction by a circular cylinder analytically and numerically. The cylinder is fixed, vertical, surface piercing in water of finite uniform depth. The formulation of the wave-structure interaction is based on the assumption of a homogeneous, ideal, incompressible, and inviscid fluid. The nonlinearity in the wave-structure interaction problem arises from the free surface boundary conditions, namely, dynamic and kinematic free surface boundary conditions. We expand the velocity potential and free surface elevation functions in terms of a small parameter and then consider the second order diffraction problem. After deriving the pressure using Bernoulli's equation, we obtain the analytical expression for the dynamic component of the second order force on the cylinder by integrating the pressure over the wetted surface. The computation of the dynamic force component requires only the first order velocity potential. Numerical results for the dynamic force component are presented.
The objective of this study is to examine the nonlinear fluid characteristics near and inside a moonpool in various sea conditions. We estimate the flow of the free surface in a moonpool taking into account the viscosity effect and the hydrodynamic forces that affects a moonpool and hull through CFD calculations. The comparison of horizontal forces per wave length shows that the hydrodynamic force is greater for the long wave length than short wave length, and the greatest hydrodynamic force acts on the moonpool when the wave length is equal to the ship's length. The horizontal force decreases as the wave amplitude decreases, and the hydrodynamic force acting on the moonpool in ${\lambda}=LBP$ is 10 times that in ${\lambda}=LBP/3$. The free surface demonstrates the piston mode, in which it oscillates up and down while remaining essentially flat, and the rise of the free surface level increases as the wave length increases. We can assume that the hydrodynamic force acting on the moonpool increases owing to the effect of a strong vortex for ${\lambda}=LBP$ and owing to the rise of the free surface level for ${\lambda}=LBP{\times}2$.

A method for force-free control is proposed to realize pull-out work by an industrial articulated robot arm. This method achieves not only non-gravity and non-friction motion of an articulated robot arm according to an exerted force but also reflects no change in the structure of the servo controller. Ideal performance of a pull-out work by the force-free control method was assured by means of simulation and experimental studies with a two-degree-of-freedom articulated robot arm.
NC machines with 4 or 5 axes are capable of various tool approach motions, which makes interference-free and high machinablity machining possible. This paper deals with how to integrate these two advantages (interference-free and high machinability machining) in multi-axes NC machining with a ball-end mill. Feasible tool approach region at a point on a surface is first computed, then among which an approach direction is determined so as to minimize the cutting force required. Tool and spindle volumes are considered in computing the feasible tool approach region, and the computing time is improved by trans-forming surface patches into minimal enclosing spheres. A cutting force prediction model is used for estimating the cutting force. The algorithm is developed so as to be applied to 4- or 5-axes NC machining in common.
The paper describes the parametric instability of free-free beams subjected to a controlled pulsating follower force. The beam has a tip rigid body not a mass point, and the direction of pulsating follower force is controlled by the direction control sensor. Equations of motion are derived by Hamilton's principle and the instability regions are obtained by finite element formulation. The effects of magnitude, rotary inertia, the distance between free end of the beam and the center of gravity of the rigid body on the instability types and regions are investigated by the change of the constant and periodic part of the follower force.
In this study, the force and moment acting on a Joubert BB2 submarine model at depths near the free surface were measured through a captive model test with the scale ratio of 1/15. Based on the experiment, the pitch moment and heave force due to the "Tail suction effect", including the change in surge force with depth near the free surface, were quantitatively analyzed. The change of force and moment according to the relative position of the sail and the free surface was reviewed with the free surface waves generated for each depths. As a result, the angle of attack of the hull to counteract the pitch moment induced by the tail suction effect was derived. The effect of the hydrostatic moment component according to the angle of attack on the equilibrium of pitch moment was also taken into account. The control plane performance tests for the X-type rudder and sail plane were conducted in snorkel and surface depth conditions to figure out the control plane angles for the neutral level flight of the submarine at near free surface. The results of this study are expected to be used as a reference data for the neutral level flight of the submarine at near free surface operation in the free running model test as well as numerical studies.
Previously we developed a method of coronal force-free field construction using vector potentials. In this method, the boundary normal component of the vector potential should be adjusted at every iteration step to implement the boundary normal current density, which is provided by observations. The method was a variational method in the sense that the excessive kinetic energy is removed from the system at every iteration step. The boundary condition imposing the normal current density, however, is not compatible with the variational procedure seeking for the minimum energy state, which is employed by most force-free field solvers currently being used. To resolve this problem, we have developed a totally new method of force-free field construction. Our new method uses a unique magnetic field description using two scalar functions. Our procedure is non-variational and can impose the boundary normal current density exactly. We have tested the new force-free solver for standard Low & Lou fields and Titov-Demoulin flux ropes. Our code excels others in both examples, especially in Titov-Demoulin flux ropes, for which most codes available now yield poor results. Application to a real active region will also be presented.
The purposes of this study were investigated physical compensation for gait on induced knee stiffness in normal subjects. Ten subjects were participated in the experiment(age: $26.0{\pm}6.3$ yrs, height: $175.5{\pm}5.3$ cm, weight: $69.1{\pm}6.1$ kg). The study method adopted 3D analysis with five cameras and ground reaction force with two force-plate. Induced knee stiffness level were classified as gait pattern on ROM of knee(free level, $30^{\circ}$ restriction level, fix level). The results were as follows; In angular displacement of hip joint, left hip joint was the more extended in mid-stance on induced right knee stiffness. In angular displacement of knee joint, there was no physical compensation on induced right knee stiffness, but free knee level gait was more flexed in swing phase of right knee joint. In angular displacement of ankle joint, right ankle joint was the more dorsiflexed on induced right knee stiffness, and $30^{\circ}$ restriction level and fix level gait were less plantarflexed in TO2. In trunk tilt, free and $30^{\circ}$ restriction level gait was more backward tilt on induced right knee stiffness. In ROM of each joint, right knee joint was more larger and trunk tilt was more lower on induced right knee stiffness. In GRF, Fx was more bigger lateral force in free and $30^{\circ}$ restriction level gait, and was more bigger medial force in fix level gait. Fy was more bigger propulsion force in free level gait, and was was more bigger braking force in $30^{\circ}$ restriction level gait. Left braking force in $30^{\circ}$ restriction level gait was more bigger. Fz was no significant.
Numerical analysis is conducted on the deformation of free surface of magnetic fluid. Steady magnetic fields are induced by a circular current loop. Governing equations of magnetic fields are solved by using the concept of vector potential. The free surface of magnetic fluid is formed by the balance of surface force, gravity, pressure difference, magnetic normal pressure and magnetic body force. The deformations of free surface of magnetic fluid are qualitatively clarified. And, the patterns of steady non-uniform magnetic fields induced by a circular current loop are quantitatively presented. The shape of free surface attained by the polar fluid approach is rougher and higher than that attained by the quasi-steady approach.
