An Improved Joint Detection of Frame, Integer Frequency Offset, and Spectral Inversion for Digital Radio Mondiale Plus

  • In digital radio broadcasting systems, long delays are incurred in service start time when tuning to a particular frequency because several synchronization steps, such as symbol timing synchronization, frame synchronization, and carrier frequency offset and sampling frequency offset compensation are necessary. Therefore, the operation of the synchronization blocks causes delays ranging from several hundred milliseconds to a few seconds until the start of the radio service after frequency tuning. Furthermore, if spectrum inversed signals are transmitted in digital radio broadcasting systems, the receivers are unable to decode them, even though most receivers can demodulate the spectral inversed signals in analog radio broadcasting systems. Accordingly, fast synchronization techniques and a method for spectral inversion detection are required in digital radio broadcasting systems that are to replace the analog radio systems. This paper presents a joint detection method of frame, integer carrier frequency offset, and spectrum inversion for DRM Plus digital broadcasting systems. The proposed scheme can detect the frame and determine whether the signal is normal or spectral inversed without any carrier frequency offset and sampling frequency offset compensation, enabling fast frame synchronization. The proposed method shows outstanding performance in environments where symbol timing offsets and sampling frequency offsets exist.

제주마에서 월라 모색의 유전적 특성 (Genetic Characterization of Wolla Coat Color in Jeju Horses)

  • 본 연구는 제주마 월라(Wolla) 모색의 백반형태 (Tobiano, frame Overo, sabino)에 대해 유전학적 특성을 구명하고자 수행하였다. 제주마 376두 (월라 142두, 비월라 234두)에 대해 Tobiano 모색 확인을 위해 ECA3-inversion을 분석하였으며, frame Overo 모색은 EDNRB 2-bp 염기치환 상태를 확인하였고, sabino 모색인자형 확인은 KIT intron 16 SNP를 분석하였다. 제주마 월라 모색 개체에서 ECA3-inversion 유전자형이 +/To 이형접합 형태가 140두 (0.986), To/To 동형접합 형태 2두 (0.013)가 나타나 제주마 월라 모두에서 ECA3-inversion이 확인되었다. 반면에 EDNRB와 KIT intron 16 SNP에서는 frame Overo나 sabino 인자는 나타나지 않았다. 제주마 비월라에서는 ECA3-inversion, EDNRB 그리고 KIT intron 16 SNP에서 백반형태와 관련된 인자는 나타나지 않았다. 따라서, 본 연구 결과 제주마 월라(Wolla) 모색은 모색 유전학적 분류에서 Tobiano 모색 유형에 속하는 것으로 사료된다.

  • We have studied how liquid crystal's rubbing direction and voltage driving method affect generation of disclination line. At first, generation of disclination line in vertical alignment(VA) cell and VA-twisted nematic(TN) cell has been examined. When liquid crystal's rubbing direction of bottom substrate was 0$^{\circ}$, the degree of generated disclination line was the smallest value. Further, the generation of disclination line above the electrode is less in the frame inversion than in the line inversion. Secondly, we have examined a generation of disclination line in reflective fringe-field switching cell. When the distance between common electrodes is over 3 ${\mu}{\textrm}{m}$ with on-state of one pixel and off-state of neighboring pixels, the reflectance appears only on-state pixel without generating reflectance in adjacent pixels.

  • 본 논문에서는 전송 분야 뿐만 아니라 interconnection 분야에서 사용할 수 있는 새로운 선로 부호를 제안한다. 제안된 선로 부호는 1 비트의 잉여(redundancy) 비트를 사용하면서도 선로 부호가 갖는 기본적인 특징을 보장하며, interconnection 분야에서 필요한 byte 또는 frame 동기를 위한 직렬 동기 패턴 제공, 특수 문자 또는 in-band signaling을 제공한다. 8비트 이상의 병렬 데이터를 부호화 하거나 직렬 비트 스트림(steam)으로 전송하기 쉽게 하여 주는 제안된 NIBI 부호 생성 알고리즘, 복호 알고리즘 및 부호 성능에 대해서 기술한다.

  • 본 연구를 통하여 3차원 자력역산 소프트웨어 시작품(KMag3D, 가칭)을 개발하고 개발 시 역점사항을 사용자 매뉴얼 형식으로 소개하였다. KMag3D는 다음 두 가지 사항을 기본 뼈대로 구성되었다. 첫째, 지금까지 자력역산에 일반적으로 적용되는 최소제곱법에 의한 방법 대신 대수적 재구성법에 기반한 알고리즘을 도입하였다. 이는 계산시간과 기억용량을 획기적으로 줄여 3차원 자력역산을 매우 효율적으로 수행한다. 둘째, 대수적 재구성법에 의한 3차원 역산에 필요한 초기모형과 사전정보 모형을 결정하는 데 2차원 수치모델링 및 역산 집합과 주향방향 내삽을 이용하는 방법을 제시하였다. 이는 3차원 역산 알고리즘에 사전정보를 효율적으로 적용하며 특히 매우 실용적임을 보여주었다.

Solving Time-dependent Schrödinger Equation Using Gaussian Wave Packet Dynamics

  • Using the thawed Gaussian wave packets [E. J. Heller, J. Chem. Phys. 62, 1544 (1975)] and the adaptive reinitialization technique employing the frame operator [L. M. Andersson et al., J. Phys. A: Math. Gen. 35, 7787 (2002)], a trajectory-based Gaussian wave packet method is introduced that can be applied to scattering and time-dependent problems. This method does not require either the numerical multidimensional integrals for potential operators or the inversion of nearly-singular matrices representing the overlap of overcomplete Gaussian basis functions. We demonstrate a possibility that the method can be a promising candidate for the time-dependent $Schr{\ddot{o}}dinger$ equation solver by applying to tunneling, high-order harmonic generation, and above-threshold ionization problems in one-dimensional model systems. Although the efficiency of the method is confirmed in one-dimensional systems, it can be easily extended to higher dimensional systems.

가중 쳐프 신호를 사용한 초음파 고조파 영상 기법

  • 본 논문에서는 펄스 압축 방식을 사용하여 기본주파수 성분을 효과적으로 제거하는 새로운 고조파 영상 기법을 제안한다. 제안된 기법에 의한 시스템은 가중 쳐프 신호를 송신하고 각 어레이 소자에 수신된 RF 샘플은 송신신호의 고조파 성분에 정합된 상관기를 통과함으로써 고조파 성분만을 선택적으로 펄스 압축한다. 이 때. 기본주파수 성분과 고조파 성분의 상호상관 값은 -50㏈ 이하로 억제하였다. 제안된 기법은 한번의 송수시 과정으로 기본주파수 성분을 효과적으로 제거하여 프레임 율이 기존의 펄스 반전 방식보다 우수한 방식과 우수한 해상도와 신호 대 잡음비 (SNR : Signal to Noise Ratio)를 갖는 고조파 영상을 구현하기 위해 펄스 반전을 적용한 후 펄스 압축을 수행하는 방식으로 구성된다 일반적인 펄스 송신 방식에서는 고조파 성분은 송신음압의 크기가 어느 임계값 이상이 되면 더 이상 증가하지 않고 포화되기 때문에 SNR이 제한되는 단점이 있다. 그러나 제안된 기법은 송신 가중 쳐프 신호의 길이를 늘림으로써 고조파 영상의 SNR을 임의로 증가시킬 수 있다 새로운 시스템의 성능을 컴퓨터를 이용한 모의실험과 실제실험을 통하여 검증하였다

A novel PSO-based algorithm for structural damage detection using Bayesian multi-sample objective function

  • Significant improvements to methodologies on structural damage detection (SDD) have emerged in recent years. However, many methods are related to inversion computation which is prone to be ill-posed or ill-conditioning, leading to low-computing efficiency or inaccurate results. To explore a more accurate solution with satisfactory efficiency, a PSO-INM algorithm, combining particle swarm optimization (PSO) algorithm and an improved Nelder-Mead method (INM), is proposed to solve multi-sample objective function defined based on Bayesian inference in this study. The PSO-based algorithm, as a heuristic algorithm, is reliable to explore solution to SDD problem converted into a constrained optimization problem in mathematics. And the multi-sample objective function provides a stable pattern under different level of noise. Advantages of multi-sample objective function and its superior over traditional objective function are studied. Numerical simulation results of a two-storey frame structure show that the proposed method is sensitive to multi-damage cases. For further confirming accuracy of the proposed method, the ASCE 4-storey benchmark frame structure subjected to single and multiple damage cases is employed. Different kinds of modal identification methods are utilized to extract structural modal data from noise-contaminating acceleration responses. The illustrated results show that the proposed method is efficient to exact locations and extents of induced damages in structures.

Research of Phase Correlation Method for Identifying Quantitative Similarity in Adjacent Real-time Streaming Frame

  • To minimize the damage by wild birds and acquire the benefits such as protection against weeds and maintenance of water content in soil, the mulching black color vinyl after seeding should be carried out. Non-contact and non-destructive methods that can continuously determine the locations are necessary. In this study, a crop position detection method was studied that uses infrared thermal image sensor to determine the cotyledon position under vinyl mulch. The moving system for acquiring image arrays has been developed for continuously detecting crop locations under plastic mulching on the field. A sliding mechanical device was developed to move the sensor, which were arranged in the form of a linear array, perpendicular to the array using a micro-controller integrated with a stepping motor. The experiments were conducted while moving 4.00 cm/s speed of the IR sensor by the rotational speed of the stepping motor based on a digital pulse width modulation signal from the micro-controller. The acquired images were calibrated with the spatial image correlation. The collected data were processed using moving averaging on interpolation to determine the frame where the variance was the smallest in resolution units of 1.02 cm. Non-linear integral interpolation was one of method for analyzing the frequency using the normalization image and then arbitrarily increasing the limited data value of $16{\times}4pixels$ in one frame. It was a method to relatively reduce the size of overlapping pixels by arbitrarily increasing the limited data value. The splitted frames into 0.1 units instead of 1 pixel can propose more than 10 times more accurate and original method than the existing correction method. The non-integral calibration method was conducted by applying the subdivision method to the pixels to find the optimal correction resolution based on the first reversed frequency. In order to find a correct resolution, the expected location of the first crop was indicated on near pixel 4 in the inversion frequency. For the most optimized resolution, the pixel was divided by 0.4 pixel instead of one pixel to find out where the lowest frequency exists.

  • We have proposed a new driving method which improve the current stability of a-Si:H TFTs for AMOLED. It performs the negative bias annealing on driving TFTs during a certain period of a frame time. In the proposed method, the range of data signals is significantly reduced by modulating VSS.
