Transformer based Collision Detection Approach by Torque Estimation using Joint Information (관절 정보를 이용한 토크 추정 방식의 트랜스포머 기반 로봇 충돌 검출 방법)

  • With the rising interaction between robots and humans, detecting collisions has become increasingly vital for ensuring safety. In this paper, we propose a novel approach for detecting collisions without using force torque sensors or tactile sensors, utilizing a Transformer-based neural network architecture. The proposed collision detection approach comprises a torque estimator network that predicts the joint torque in a free-motion state using Synchronous time-step encoding, and a collision discriminator network that predicts collisions by leveraging the difference between estimated and actual torques. The collision discriminator finally creates a binary tensor that predicts collisions frame by frame. In simulations, the proposed network exhibited enhanced collision detection performance relative to the other kinds of networks both in terms of prediction speed and accuracy. This underscores the benefits of using Transformer networks for collision detection tasks, where rapid decision-making is essential.

  • Recently many informations are transmitted ,md stored as video data, and they are on the rapid increase because of popularization of high performance computer and internet. In this paper, to retrieve video data, shots are found through analysis of video stream and the method of detection of key frame is studied. Finally users can retrieve the video efficiently. This Paper suggests a new feature that is robust to object movement in a shot and is not sensitive to change of color in boundary detection of shots, and proposes the characterizing value that reflects the characteristic of kind of video (movie, drama, news, music video etc,). The key frames are pulled out from many frames by using the local minima and maxima of differential of the value. After original frame(not de image) are reconstructed for key frame, indexing process is performed through computing parameters. Key frames that arc similar to user's query image arc retrieved through computing parameters. It is proved that the proposed methods are better than conventional method from experiments. The retrieval accuracy rate is so high in experiments.

  • There is a large interest to find reliable and automatic methods for crack detection and quantification in the railway bogie frame. The non-destructive inspection of railway bogie frame has been performed by ultrasonic and magnetic particle testing in general inspection. The magnetic particle method has been utilized in the defect inspection of the bogie frame but the grinding process is required before inspection and the dust is developed resulting from the processing. The objective of this paper is to apply the inspection method of bogie frame using infra-red thermography. The infra-red thermography system using the excitation of eddy current was performed for the defect evaluation of weld specimen inserted artificial defects. The result shows that the infra-red thermography method can detect the surface and inner defects in weld specimen for bogie frame.

GAN Based Adversarial CAN Frame Generation Method for Physical Attack Evading Intrusion Detection System (Intrusion Detection System을 회피하고 Physical Attack을 하기 위한 GAN 기반 적대적 CAN 프레임 생성방법)

  • As vehicle technology has grown, autonomous driving that does not require driver intervention has developed. Accordingly, CAN security, an network of in-vehicles, has also become important. CAN shows vulnerabilities in hacking attacks, and machine learning-based IDS is introduced to detect these attacks. However, despite its high accuracy, machine learning showed vulnerability against adversarial examples. In this paper, we propose a adversarial CAN frame generation method to avoid IDS by adding noise to feature and proceeding with feature selection and re-packet for physical attack of the vehicle. We check how well the adversarial CAN frame avoids IDS through experiments for each case that adversarial CAN frame generated by all feature modulation, modulation after feature selection, preprocessing after re-packet.

  • In this paper, we proposed a method about improving face tracking efficiency of face detection for AF system using the faces to the ROI. The conventional face detection system detecting faces based skin color uses the ratio of skin pixels of the present frame to detected face regions of the past frame to track the faces. The tracking method is superior in the stability of the regions but it is inferior in the face tracking efficiency. We proposed a face tracking method using the area of the overlapping region in the detected face regions of the past frame and the present frame to improve the tracking efficiency. The proposed face tracking efficiency demonstration was performed by making a film of face detection with face tracking in real-time and using the moving traces of the detected faces.

  • DVB-S2 (Digital Video Broadcasting-Satellite, Version 2) system transmits frames which adapt their structures based on the channel conditions, thus requiring simultaneous detection of the start of the Same (SoF) and the frame structure at the initial acquisition stage of the receiver. Also, a very low value of the minimum operating signal-to-noise ratio (SNR) for the acquisition necessitates a method utilizing multiple received frames to meet the required performance. In this paper, performance of joint time synchronization and frame structure detection methods using multiple DVB-S2 frames is evaluated by deriving the detection error probability. In particular, we evaluate the performance and complexity variations when the soft- and hard-decision values of the signal correlation output are used, present the synchronization parameters to optimize the performance, and verify the analysis results via computer simulations.

A shot change detection algorithm based on frame segmentation and object movement (프레임 블록화와 객체의 이동을 이용한 샷 전환 탐지 알고리즘)

  • This paper proposes a shot change detection algorithm by using frame segmentation and the object changes among moving blocks. In order to detect the rapid moving changes of objects between two consecutive frames, the moving blocks on the diagonal are defined, and their histograms are calculated. When a block of the current frame is compared to the moving blocks of the next frame, the block histograms are used and the threshold of a shot change detection is automatically adjusted by Otsu's threshold method. The proposed algorithm was tested for the various types of color or gray videos such as films, dramas, animations, and video tapes in National Archives of Korea. The experimental results showed that the proposed algorithm could enhance the detection rate when compared to the studied methods that use brightness, histogram, or segmentation.

  • Fire flame and smoke detection algorithm studies are challenging task in computer vision due to the variety of shapes, rapid spread and colors. The performance of a typical sensor based fire detection system is largely limited by environmental factors (indoor and fire locations). To solve this problem, a deep learning method is applied. Because it extracts the feature of the object using several methods, so that if a similar shape exists in the frame, it can be detected as false postive. This study proposes a new algorithm to reduce false positives by using frame similarity before using deep learning to decrease the false detection rate. Experimental results show that the fire detection performance is maintained and the false positives are reduced by applying the proposed method. It is confirmed that the proposed method has excellent false detection performance.

  • In this paper, we propose an unmanned patient monitoring system design and performance of a motion capture and sound detection. Unmanned patient monitoring system can be used in the greek koma and meaning deep sleep patient to need 24 hour surveillance. To monitoring, we used laptop, CCTV camera (or PC camera), A/D converter, microphone and detection program. The detection program based on the frame difference method and sound level meter. It had several functions such as data collecting and storing. All of this system was tested in several the simulations of emergency situations. It can be expected that an unmanned patient monitoring system can be used in emergency situation and patient care.

Damage detection for truss or frame structures using an axial strain flexibility

  • Damage detection using structural classical deflection flexibility has received considerable attention due to the unique features of the flexibility in the last two decades. However, for relatively complex structures, most methods based on classical deflection flexibility fail to locate damage sites to the exact members. In this study, for structures whose members are dominated by axial forces, such as truss structures, a more feasible flexibility for damage detection is proposed, which is called the Axial Strain (AS) flexibility. It is synthesized from measured modal frequencies and axial strain mode shapes which are expressed in terms of translational mode shapes. A damage indicator based on AS flexibility is proposed. In addition, how to integrate the AS flexibility into the Damage Location Vector (DLV) approach (Bernal and Gunes 2004) to improve its performance of damage localization is presented. The methods based on AS flexbility localize multiple damages to the exact members and they are suitable for the cases where the baseline data of the intact structure is not available. The proposed methods are demonstrated by numerical simulations of a 14-bay planar truss and a five-story steel frame and experiments on a five-story steel frame.
