Predicting the rate of inbreeding in populations undergoing four-path selection on genomically enhanced breeding values

  • Objective: A formula is needed that is practical for current livestock breeding methods and that predicts the approximate rate of inbreeding (ΔF) in populations where selection is performed according to four-path programs (sires to breed sons, sires to breed daughters, dams to breed sons, and dams to breed daughters). The formula widely used to predict inbreeding neglects selection, we need to develop a new formula that can be applied with or without selection. Methods: The core of the prediction is to incorporate the long-tern genetic influence of the selected parents in four-selection paths executed as sires to breed sons, sires to breed daughters, dams to breed sons, and dams to breed daughters. The rate of inbreeding was computed as the magnitude that is proportional to the sum of squared long-term genetic contributions of the parents of four-selection paths to the selected offspring. Results: We developed a formula to predict the rate of inbreeding in populations undergoing four-path selection on genomically enhanced breeding values and with discrete generations. The new formula can be applied with or without selection. Neglecting the effects of selection led to underestimation of the rate of inbreeding by 40% to 45%. Conclusion: The formula we developed here would be highly useful as a practical method for predicting the approximate rate of inbreeding (ΔF) in populations where selection is performed according to four-path programs.

다중 무인 항공기 이용 감시 및 탐색 경로 계획 생성 (Path Planning for Search and Surveillance of Multiple Unmanned Aerial Vehicles )

  • This paper presents an optimal path planning strategy for aerial searching and surveying of a user-designated area using multiple Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAVs). The method is designed to deal with a single unseparated polygonal area, regardless of polygonal convexity. By defining the search area into a set of grids, the algorithm enables UAVs to completely search without leaving unsearched space. The presented strategy consists of two main algorithmic steps: cellular decomposition and path planning stages. The cellular decomposition method divides the area to designate a conflict-free subsearch-space to an individual UAV, while accounting the assigned flight velocity, take-off and landing positions. Then, the path planning strategy forms paths based on every point located in end of each grid row. The first waypoint is chosen as the closest point from the vehicle-starting position, and it recursively updates the nearest endpoint set to generate the shortest path. The path planning policy produces four path candidates by alternating the starting point (left or right edge), and the travel direction (vertical or horizontal). The optimal-selection policy is enforced to maximize the search efficiency, which is time dependent; the policy imposes the total path-length and turning number criteria per candidate. The results demonstrate that the proposed cellular decomposition method improves the search-time efficiency. In addition, the candidate selection enhances the algorithmic efficacy toward further mission time-duration reduction. The method shows robustness against both convex and non-convex shaped search area.

Demand-based charging strategy for wireless rechargeable sensor networks

  • A wireless power transfer technique can solve the power capacity problem in wireless rechargeable sensor networks (WRSNs). The charging strategy is a wide-spread research problem. In this paper, we propose a demand-based charging strategy (DBCS) for WRSNs. We improved the charging programming in four ways: clustering method, selecting to-be-charged nodes, charging path, and charging schedule. First, we proposed a multipoint improved K-means (MIKmeans) clustering algorithm to balance the energy consumption, which can group nodes based on location, residual energy, and historical contribution. Second, the dynamic selection algorithm for charging nodes (DSACN) was proposed to select on-demand charging nodes. Third, we designed simulated annealing based on performance and efficiency (SABPE) to optimize the charging path for a mobile charging vehicle (MCV) and reduce the charging time. Last, we proposed the DBCS to enhance the efficiency of the MCV. Simulations reveal that the strategy can achieve better performance in terms of reducing the charging path, thus increasing communication effectiveness and residual energy utility.

텍스트 마이닝을 활용한 한국학 주경로(Main Path) 분석: '한국'을 키워드로 포함하는 SCOPUS 문헌을 대상으로 (The Main Path Analysis of Korean Studies Using Text Mining: Based on SCOPUS Literature Containing 'Korea' as a Keyword)

  • 이 연구는 한국학의 주류를 이루는 연구영역들의 기원과 발전경로를 파악하기 위하여 텍스트 마이닝과 주경로 분석(main path analysis, MPA) 기법을 수행하였다. 이를 위하여 전통적인 인문학 연구방법론이 아닌 디지털 텍스트를 기반으로 한 정량적 분석을 시도하였고 인용 데이터베이스를 활용하여 인용정보가 포함된 한국학 관련 문헌들을 수집하고 직접 인용 네트워크를 구축하여 한국학 분야 주경로를 추출하였다. 주경로 추출 결과, 한국학 인문분야에서는 키루트(key-route) 주경로 탐색에서 두 개의 주경로 군집(①한국 고대 농경문화(역사·문화·고고학), ②한국인의 영어습득(언어학))이 발견되었고, 한국학 인문·사회분야에서는 키루트 주경로 탐색에서 네 개의 주경로 군집(①한국 지역(공간)개발·조경, ②한국 경제발전(경제원조·소프트파워), ③한국의 산업(정치경제학), ④한국의 인구구성(남아선호)·북한경제(빈곤·중국협력))이 발견되었다. 이 연구의 결과가 한국학의 정체성을 파악하는데 기존의 지엽적 분석에서 벗어나 한국학이라는 학문에서 논의되고 있는 주 영역의 발전과 진화를 거시적으로 분석·제시함으로써 한국학이 가지는 포괄성과 모호성을 다소 해소하고 한국학 외연을 가시적으로 조망하는데 기여할 수 있으리라 기대한다.

누에의 실용형질에 대한 유전력, 유전상관 및 경로계수의 분석 (Heritability, Genetic Correlation and Path Coefficient Analysis of Economic Characters in the Silkworm, Bombyx mori)

  • 가잠육종의 선발에 대한 유전적 Parameter를 추적학 ldnl해 누에 일본종계통 3, 중국종계통 4 모두 7개 품종을 이면교배하여 주요 견성과 사질의 유전력과 유전상관을, 그리고 유전상관의 값을 이용하여 여러 형질이 직접 또는 간접적으로 견사량에 미치는 영향을 구명하기 위한 경로계수를 추정하였다. 원잠종을 재료로 한 각 형질의 유전력은 F1, F2세대에서 5령경과, 단견중, 견층중, 견층비율, fibroin량, 견층연감율, 견사량 등이 모두 76.65% 이상이었다. 형질상호간의 상관관계를 F1, F2 세대에서 자웅별로 보면 표현형상관과 유전상관의 값은 대체로 정의 방향이었고, 유전상관의 값이 표현형상관의 값보다 일반적으로 높았다. 견사량과의 형질상호간의 상관관계에서 단견중, 견층중, 견층비율, fibroin량 등은 F1, F2세대의 자웅이 모두 0.727 이상의 높은 유전상관 값을 보였다. 주요 형질들의 유전력이 대체로 높고 유전상관의 값이 정의 방향이므로 이들 형질은 선발이 용이할 것으로 기대된다. 경로계수는 견사량에 관여하는 직접효과가 F1세대에서 자의 견층중이 0.991, 웅의 단견중이 0.803이고, F2세대에서 웅의 견층비율이 0.938, 웅의 fibroin량이 0.930으로서 정의 방향으로 그 효과가 크게 표현되었다. 경로계수에서 견사량에 관여하는 직·간접효과가 세대간과 자웅간에 차이는 있으나 주로 증량적 형질인 단견중, 견층중 등의 영향이 컸을 것으로 평가된다.

비선형공정계획에서 가공순서 결정을 위한 시뮬레이티드 어닐링 알고리듬 (Simulated Annealing Algorithms for Operation Sequencing in Nonlinear Process Planning)

  • This paper considers the problem of operation sequencing in nonlinear process planning, which is the problem of selecting and sequencing operations required to produce a part with the objective of minimizing the sum of operation processing costs and machine, setup and tool change costs. Main constraints are the precedence relations among operations. The problem can be decomposed into two subproblems: operation selection and operation sequencing. We suggest four simulated annealing algorithms, which solve the two subproblems iteratively until a good solution is obtained. Here, the operation selection problem can be solved using a shortest path algorithm. Application of the algorithms is illustrated using an example. Also, to show the performances of the suggested algorithms, computational experiments were done on randomly generated test problems and the results are reported. In particular, one of the suggested algorithms outperforms an existing simulated annealing algorithm.

병원용 서비스 로봇의 제어시스템 (Control System of Service Robot for Hospital)

  • This paper addresses a hybrid control architecture for the hospital service robot, SmartHelper. In hybrid architecture, the deliberation takes place at planning layer while the reaction is dealt through the parallel execution of operations. Hence, the system presents both a hierarchical and an heterarchical decomposition, being able to show a predictable response while keeping rapid reactivity to the dynamic environment. The deliberative controller accomplishes four functions which are path generation, selection of navigation way, command and monitoring. The reactive controller uses fuzzy and potential field method for robot navigation. Through simulation under a virtual environment IGRIP, the effectiveness of the hybrid architecture is verified.

  • A Mobile Sensor Network is widely used in real time applications. A critical need in Mobile Sensor Network is to achieve energy efficiency during routing as the sensor nodes have scarce energy resource. The nodes' mobility in MWSN poses a challenge to design an energy efficient routing protocol. Clustering helps to achieve energy efficiency by reducing the organization complexity overhead of the network which is proportional to the number of nodes in the network. This paper proposes"EERA: Energy Efficient Routing Algorithm for Mobile Sensor Network" is divided into five phases. 1, Cluster Formation 2.Cluster head and Transmission head selection 3.Path Establishment / Route discovery and 4,Data Transmission. Experimental Analysis has been done and is found that the proposed method performs better than the existing method with respect to four parameters.

한국재래생강(韓國在來生薑)에 있어서 수량구성요소(收量構成要素)의 유전변이(遺傳變異), 상관(相關) 및 경로분석(經路分析) (Genetic Variability, Correlation and Path Analysis for Yield Components in Korea Domestic Ginger)

  • 초장, 엽수, 경수, 경직경, 엽장, 엽폭, 근경생산량을 평가하기위하여 수집 한 94 clone은 경수와 근경생산량에서 유용한 변이를 보여주었다. 초장, 엽수, 엽장, 엽폭, 경직경은 약간의 변이가 관찰되었다. 작물학적 특성간의 단순상관은 근경생산량과 정의 상관을 보여주었고 엽수, 초장, 경직경은 근경생산량과 고도의 정의 상관을 보여주었다. 경로계수분석을 통하여 경수, 엽수, 경직경순으로 근경생산에 직접효과를 준다는 결과를 얻을 수 있었다. 엽수를 통한 초장의 간접효과가 가장 크게 나타났고, 엽수를 통한 엽장, 엽폭과 경직경을 통한 초장, 엽장, 엽폭에서도 간접효과가 관찰되었다. 선발의 관점에서 볼 때, 초장, 엽수, 경수와 같은 특성들은 좋은 유전형을 선발하기에 적합하다고 여겨진다.
