This paper describes a novel Context-awareness Markov Chain Prediction (CMCP) algorithm based on movement prediction using Markov chain in Delay Tolerant Network (DTN). The existing prediction models require additional information such as a node's schedule and delivery predictability. However, network reliability is lowered when additional information is unknown. To solve this problem, we propose a CMCP model based on node behaviour movement that can predict the mobility without requiring additional information such as a node's schedule or connectivity between nodes in periodic interval node behavior. The main contribution of this paper is the definition of approximate speed and direction for prediction scheme. The prediction of node movement forwarding path is made by manipulating the transition probability matrix based on Markov chain models including buffer availability and given interval time. We present simulation results indicating that such a scheme can be beneficial effects that increased the delivery ratio and decreased the transmission delay time of predicting movement path of the node in DTN.
Recently MIP becomes more important for the macro mobility support in the emergence of the global system such as IMT-2000. However this Protocol suffers from many weaknesses on the location management. MIPv4 regional registration is presented for the local registration of MNs. MIPv6 can benefit from the reduced mobility signaling with external networks by employing a local MAP, that is called HMIPv6. The total signaling cost of HMIPv6 is rapidly increased by the number of CNs of an MN when the MN moves around between MAPs. In this paper, we propose a new location management scheme in MIPv6 that reduces the total signaling cost in the location update based on HMIPv6 Here the MN does not send the BU to CNs and HA when it moves around between MAPs. Instead it informs the current location by transferring the modified BU to the previous MAP. According to the results of the performance analysis, we determine the upper bound for the number of forwarding links allowed among adjacent MAPs without the BU information.
Real-time streaming services over the Internet have increased with the explosive growth of the various mobile platforms, with a focus on smart phones, and the demand for them is growing. In addition, the bandwidth occupied by the streaming services over the Internet had already surpassed 50% in 2010. Because of the shortage of network bandwidth for multimedia services traffic, restrictions on quality and capacity will become more and more serious. CCN is a future Internet architecture that improves how existing host-based Internet architecture handles content-oriented structure, but it is designed for the transmission of general contents and is not suitable for transmitting real-time streaming contents. In this paper, we focus on the inefficient aspects of CCN and propose a hierarchical grade-based scheme for real-time service for a more efficient environment in real-time streaming services. Experiments have shown better performance in terms of bandwidth, network load, and reliability.
In opportunistic networks, each message is delivered to the destination by repeating, storing, carrying, and forwarding the message. Recently, with the vitalization of social networks, a large number of existing articles have shown performance improvement when delivering the message and considering its social relational networks. However, these works only deliver messages when they find nodes, assuming that every node cooperates with each other unconditionally. Moreover, they only consider the number of short-term contacts and local social relations, but have not considered each node's average relation with the destination node. In this paper, we propose novel message sending techniques for opportunistic networks using nodes' social network characteristics. In this scheme, each message is delivered to the destination node with fewer copies by delivering it mostly through nodes that have high intimacy with the destination node. We are showing that our proposed scheme presents a 20% performance increase compared to existing schemes.
In the CR-enabled MANET, routing paths can be easily destroyed due to node mobility and channel unavailability (due to the emergence of the PU of a channel), resulting in significant overhead to maintain/recover the routing path. In this paper, network caching is actively used for route maintenance, taking into account the properties of the CR. In the proposed scheme, even if a node detects that a path becomes unavailable, it does not generate control messages to establish an alternative path. Instead, the node stores the packets in its local cache and 1) waits for a certain amount of time for the PU to disappear; 2) waits for a little longer while overhearing messages from other flow; 3) after that, the node applies local route recovery process or delay tolerant forwarding strategy. According to the simulation study using the OPNET simulator, it is shown that the proposed scheme successfully reduces the amount of control messages for path recovery and the service latency for the time-sensitive traffic by 13.8% and 45.4%, respectively, compared to the existing scheme. Nevertheless, the delivery ratio of the time-insensitive traffic is improved 14.5% in the proposed scheme.

Geo-graphical routing protocols as GPSR are known to be very suitable and useful for vehicular ad-hoc networks. However, a corresponding node can include some stale neighbor nodes being out of a transmission range, and the stale nodes are pone to get a high priority to be a next relay node in the greedy mode. In addition, some useful redundant information can be eliminated during planarization in the recovery mode. This paper deals with a new recovery mode, the Greedy Border Superiority Routing(GBSR), along with an Adaptive Neighbor list Management(ANM) scheme. Each node can easily treat stale nodes on its neighbor list by means of comparing previous and current Position of a neighbor. When a node meets the local maximum, it makes use of a border superior graph to recover from it. This approach improve the packet delivery ratio while it decreases the time to recover from the local maximum. We evaluate the performance of the proposed methods using a network simulator. The results shown that the proposed protocol reveals much better performance than GPSR protocol. Please Put the of paper here.

The Tactical Internet(TI) managed by Infantry Brigades is used for the purpose of sharing information of Command Control and Situation Awareness. When there are more than two destinations to transmit data in the TI system, a multicasting is utilized based on pre-defined multicast groups. However even in the case when a source node needs to send some messages like weathercast and attack alarm etc to only a part of Battalion or Brigades in a specific geographical region (destination region), the current TI multicasting protocol is designed to transmit the messages to the pre-defined group or all of the Battalion/Brigade nodes, resulting in inefficiency in terms of end-to-end delay and overhead. In this paper, we propose more efficient protocol for such cases, named as "Tactical Internet Geocasting (TIG)". The proposed scheme firstly checks whether the destination region belongs to one Battalion region or more than two Battalion regions using location information, and then performs a greedy forwarding from the source node to the destination region, followed by a local flooding inside of the destination region. With performance analysis and simulations using NS-2, TIG is compared to the current TI multicasting protocol (i.e., Simplified MDP) and the LBM (Location-based Multicast). The simulation results show that the proposed TIG is more efficient than both in terms of delay and network overhead.
Due to the application-specific nature of wireless sensor networks, the sensitivity to such a requirement as data reporting latency may vary depending on the type of applications, thus requiring application-specific algorithm and protocol design paradigms which help us to maximize energy conservation and thus the network lifetime. In this paper, we propose a novel delay-adaptive sensor scheduling scheme for energy-saving data gathering which is based on a two phase clustering (TPC). The ultimate goal is to extend the network lifetime by providing sensors with high adaptability to the application-dependent and time-varying delay requirements. The TPC requests sensors to construct two types of links: direct and relay links. The direct links are used for control and forwarding time critical sensed data. On the other hand, the relay links are used only for data forwarding based on the user delay constraints, thus allowing the sensors to opportunistically use the most energy-saving links and forming a multi-hop path. Simulation results demonstrate that cluster-based delay-adaptive data gathering strategy (CD-DGS) saves a significant amount of energy for dense sensor networks by adapting to the user delay constraints.

In many applications of wireless sensor networks, sensed data can be classified either normal or urgent data according to its time criticalness. Normal data such as periodic monitoring is loss and delay tolerant, but urgent data such as fire alarm is time critical and should be transferred to a sink with reliable. In this paper, by exploiting these data characteristics, we propose a novel energy-efficient data-aware routing protocol for wireless sensor networks, which provides a high reliability for urgent data and energy efficiency for normal data. In the proposed scheme, in order to enhance network survivability and reliability for urgent data, each sensor node forwards only urgent data when its residual battery level is below than a threshold. Also, the proposed scheme uses different data delivery mechanisms depending on the data type. The normal data is delivered to the sink using a single-path-based data forwarding mechanism to improve the energy-efficiency. Meanwhile, the urgent data is transmitted to the sink using a directional flooding mechanism to guarantee high reliability. Simulation results demonstrate that the proposed scheme could significantly improve the network lifetime, along with high reliability for urgent data delivery.

To prevent performance degradation of TCP due to packet losses in the smooth handoff by the route optimization extension of Mobile IP protocol, a buffering of packets at a base station is needed. A buffering of packets at a base station recovers those packets dropped during handoff by forwarding buffered packets at the old base station to the mobile user. But, when the mobile user moves to a congested base station in a new foreign subnetwork, those buffered packets forwarded by the old base station are dropped and TCP transmission performance of a mobile user in the congested base station degrades due to increased congestion by those forwarded burst packets. In this paper, considering the general case that a mobile user moves to a congested base station, we analyze the influence of packet buffering on TCP performance according to handoff arrival distribution for Drop-tail and RED (Random Early Detection) buffer management schemes. Simulation results show that RED scheme can reduce the congestion increased by those forwarded burst packets comparing Drop-Tail, but RED scheme cannot avoid Global Synchronization due to forwarded burst packets by the old base station and new buffer management scheme to avoid it is needed in Mobile IP based networks.
