Recent research has shown that quadrupole noise has a significant influence on the overall characteristics of flow-induced noise and on the performance of underwater appendages such as sonar domes. However, advanced research generally uses the Ffowcs Williams-Hawkings analogy without considering the quadrupole source to reduce computational cost. In this study, flow-induced noise is predicted by using an LES turbulence model and a developed formulation, called the formulation Q1As method to properly take into account the quadrupole source. The noise around a circular cylinder in an underwater environment is examined for two cases with different velocities. The results from the method are compared to those obtained from the experiments and the permeable FW-H method. The results are in good agreement with the experimental data, with a difference of less than 1 dB, which indicates that the formulation Q1As method is suitable for use in predicting quadrupole noise around underwater appendages.

The purpose of this study was to evaluate relative bioavailability of the coenzyme Q10 (CoQ10) in emulsion and three liposome formulations after a single oral administration (60 mg/kg) into rats. Emulsion formulation of CoQ10 was prepared by conventional method using Phospholipon 85G as an emulsifier, and three liposome formulations (neutral, anionic, and cationic) of CoQ10 were prepared by traditional lipid film hydration technique using Phospholipon 85G, cholesterol, and charge carrier lipids (1,2-dioleoyl-3-trimethylammonium-propane chloride salt for cationic liposome and 1,2-dimyristoyl-sn-glycero-3-phosphate monosodium salt for anionic liposome). Mean particle size of all CoQ10-loaded liposome was less than a micron, and size distribution of the liposome population was homogeneous. Bioavailability of CoQ10 in emulsion was 1.5 to 2.6-fold greater than liposome formulations in terms of $AUC_{0-24\;h}$. $T_{max}$ was 3 h when administered as emulsion while it was greater than 6 h in liposome formulations. Notably, it was approximately 8 h in cationic liposome. $C_{max}$ was highest in emulsion and was significantly decreased when administered as liposome. Charged liposome showed even lower $C_{max}$ than neutral liposome, especially in cationic liposome. In conclusion, therefore, it is suggested that clinicians and patients consider bioavailability issue a primary concern when choosing a CoQ10 product, especially when very high plasma level is required such as in the treatment of heart failure and Parkinson's disease.

This paper presents an optimal robust LQ-PID controller design method for the second order system with time-delay to meet design specifications. By LQR formulation of the second order system with time-delay, the tuning parameters of PID controller are related by weighting factors Q and R of cost function. The selection of weighting factors Q and R are chosen to satisfy such the design specifications as overshoot and settling time.
Photosensitive compound, 1-methyl-4-[2-(4-diethylacetylphenyl)ethenyl] pridinium methosulfate(SbQ-A salt), was synthesized from dimethyl sulfate, terephthalaldehyde mono-(diethylacetal) and 4-picoline. SbQ-A salts were reacted with poly(vinyl alcohol)s, (PVA) in aqueous solution with phosphoric acid as catalyst to give photosensitive PVA-SbQ with different SbQ content and molecular weight. Relative photosensitivity of PVA-SbQ was determined by gray scale(GS) method. The rotative sensitivity of PVA-SbQ increased with increasing amount of bound SbQ in the case of high molecular weight(MW=77,000-79,000g/mol) as substrate and decreased with decreasing molecular weight of PVA with about constant(1.3mol%) amount of bound SbQ. The most sensitive polymer was obtained when SbQ group content in PVA-SbQ reached about 2.63mol% in the case of high molecular weight(77,000-79,000g/mol) PVA. This sample showed 90 times greater sensitivity than dichromated PVA as reference photosensitive system. PVA-SbQ photosensitive polymer synthesized was applied to the photolithographic screening process of phosphor on the panel of cathode ray tube(CRT). Phosphor slurry was made with PVA-SbQ, phosphor, a small amount of surfactant and other additives using water as medium. The slurry was coated onto panel, dried by heater, exposed to UV light and then developed by distilled water. When a small amount of cationic surfactant such as cetyltrimethylammonium chloride was used in the slurry formulation, the sharpness of phosphor pattern was equal to or better than that of dichromated PVA photosensitive polymer system used currently.
The time-stepping boundary element method has been so far applied by the authors to transient heat conduction in isotropic solids as well as in orthotropic solids. In this paper, attempt is made to extend the method to 2-D transient heat conduction in arbitrarily anisotropic solids. The resulting boundary integral equation is discretized by means of the boundary element with quadratic interpolation. The final system of equations thus obtained is solved by advancing the time step from the given initial state to the final state. Through numerical compuation of a few examples the potential usefulness of the proposed method is demonstrated.
In order for formulation of rectal containing OMZ, the OMZ suppositories were prepared using water-soluble base, PEG 4000 base and oil-soluble base, Witepsol H 15. Chemical stability of OMZ in suppositories was increased when Witepsol H 15 was used as a suppository base and arginine was added as a stabilizer. The decomposition of OMZ in suppository bases followed the first-order kinetics and their rate constants were 0.11 day $^{1}(t_{1/2}$=/6.25 days) for Witepsol H 15 suppository and 0.48 day $^{1}(t_{1/2}$=/1.43 days) for PEG 4000 suppository, respectively. On the other hand, the decomposition rate constants of Witepsol suppository and PEG suppository stabilized with arginine were 3.89$\times$10$^{-3}$(t$_{1/2}$=171.1 days) and 8.76$\times$10$^{-3}$ day $^{1}(t_{1/2}=79.9 days), respectively. Shelf-lives of the Witepsol and PEG suppositories stabilized with arginine were t$_{90%}$=291.8 days and t$_{90%}$=282.1 days at $35^{\circ}C$ and 75% RH, respectively. The dissolution test of OMZ suppositories was performed by rotating dialysis cell(RDC) method and the release rate constant was calculated by the simplified Higuchi's equation, Q'=K' t$^{1/2}$. Dissolution of OMZ from suppositories was augmented as arginine was added, particle size of OMZ was reduced and a suitable surfactant such as SLS was added. RDC method was more appropriate and available than Paddle method to evaluate the dissolution rate of lipophilic-base suppositoies. Arginine was found to be a very useful exipient for the enhancement of stability and dissolution of OMZ in suppositories.

This article is dedicated to the pursuit of establishing a robust empirical relationship that allows for the estimation of in-situ modulus of deformations (Em and Gm) within sedimentary rock slope masses through the utilization of Qslope values. To achieve this significant objective, an expansive and thorough methodology is employed, encompassing a comprehensive field survey, meticulous sample collection, and rigorous laboratory testing. The study sources a total of 26 specimens from five distinct locations within the South Pars (known as Assalouyeh) region, ensuring a representative dataset for robust correlations. The results of this extensive analysis reveal compelling empirical connections between Em, geomechanical characteristics of the rock mass, and the calculated Qslope values. Specifically, these relationships are expressed as follows: Em = 2.859 Qslope + 4.628 (R2 = 0.554), and Gm = 1.856 Qslope + 3.008 (R2 = 0.524). Moreover, the study unravels intriguing insights into the interplay between in-situ deformation moduli and the widely utilized Rock Mass Rating (RMR) computations, leading to the formulation of equations that facilitate predictions: RMR = 18.12 Em0.460 (R2 = 0.798) and RMR = 22.09 Gm0.460 (R2 = 0.766). Beyond these correlations, the study delves into the intricate relationship between RMR and Rock Quality Designation (RQD) with Qslope values. The findings elucidate the following relationships: RMR = 34.05e0.33Qslope (R2 = 0.712) and RQD = 31.42e0.549Qslope (R2 = 0.902). Furthermore, leveraging the insights garnered from this comprehensive analysis, the study offers an empirically derived support system tailored to the distinct characteristics of discontinuous rock slopes, grounded firmly within the framework of the Qslope methodology. This holistic approach contributes significantly to advancing the understanding of sedimentary rock slope stability and provides valuable tools for informed engineering decisions.
The supplementation of livestock feed with animal protein is a present cause for public concern, and plant protein shortages have become increasingly prominent in China. This conflict may be resolved by fully utilizing currently available sources of plant protein. We estimated the rumen degradability and the small intestinal digestibility of the amino acids (AA) in rapeseed meal (RSM), soybean meal (SBM), sunflower seed meal (SFM) and sesame meal (SSM) using the mobile nylon bag method to determine the absorbable AA content of these protein supplements as a guide towards dietary formulations for the dairy industry. Overall, this study aimed to utilize protein supplements effectively to guide dietary formulations to increase milk yield and save plant protein resources. To this end, we studied four cows with a permanent rumen fistula and duodenal T-shape fistula in a $4{\times}4$ Latin square experimental design. The results showed that the total small intestine absorbable amino acids and small intestine absorbable essential amino acids were higher in the SBM (26.34% and 13.11% dry matter [DM], respectively) than in the SFM (13.97% and 6.89% DM, respectively). The small intestine absorbable Lys contents of the SFM, SSM, RSM and SBM were 0.86%, 0.88%, 1.43%, and 2.12% (DM basis), respectively, and the absorbable Met contents of these meals were 0.28%, 1.03%, 0.52%, and 0.47% (DM basis), respectively. Among the examined food sources, the milk protein score of the SBM (0.181) was highest followed by those of the RSM (0.136), SSM (0.108) and SFM (0.106). The absorbable amino acid contents of the protein supplements accurately reflected protein availability, which is an important indicator of the balance of feed formulation. Therefore, a database detailing the absorbable AA should be established.
The multi-function of 18 Bacillus subtilis isolates collected from agricultural extension centers of local government and National Academy of Agricultural Science was investigated by measuring their antifungal activities against five plant pathogens, such as Rhizoctonia solani, Colletotrichum acutatum, Fusarium oxysporum, Magnaporthe oryzae and Phytophthora capsici, phosphorus solubilization ability, production of indole acetic acid (IAA) and siderophore, and nitrogen fixation. The B. subtilis isolates showed antifungal activity against several plant pathogens and nitrogen fixation activity, and produced siderophore and IAA. They could control pepper powdery mildew (Leveillula taurica), but there was no difference in control efficacy among the B. subtilis isolates. In fields, the control efficacy of B. subtilis R2-1 ($10^8$ cells/ml) was compared with two microbial fungicides, Q-pect and Topsid. In 2009, the control efficacy of B. subtilis R2-1 (37.7%) was lower than that of Topsid (47.6%), but higher than that of Q-pect (25.7%). In 2010, the control efficacy of B. subtilis R2-1 (83.3%) was higher than that of Topsid (67.9%). In order to elucidate mode of action of B. subtilis R2-1 for controlling pepper powdery mildew, spore germination rates of pepper powdery mildew pathogen collected on treated leaves was investigated when suspensions of B. subtilis R2-1 and two microbial fungicides (Q-pect and Topsid) were foliar-sprayed. They highly suppressed spore germination of the pathogen with inhibition values of 84.2% for B. subtilis R2-1, 97.9% for Q-pect and 94.7% for Topsid. Further study on the mass-culturing method and formulation is needed for development of a microbial fungicide.
