  • For improving the magnetic properties of the amorphous Fe-B-Si alloy, we annealed the sample in a magnetic field oriented in the plane of the ribbon longitudinal to its long axis. By field annealing, coercive force and total core loss are reduced from 0.04 Oe to 0.02 Oe, and from 0.25 watt/kg to 0.15 watt/kg respectively in comparsion with non-field annealed specimen. These reductions were caused by the formation of 180 dcmain wall parallel to the annealing field due to the induced anisotropy.

  • Renal cyst was detected in a mongrel dog aged 3 months old. The most prominent clinical abnormalities were vomiting, loss of appetite, depression, abdominal swelling and lethargy. Gross appearances included ascites and bilaterally irregular capsular surfaces of the kidneys. Characteristic microscopical findings were various sized cysts formation, shrunken glomeruli with hypercellularity, connective tissue porliferation in the interstitum, tubular dilatation and sligth leukocytic infiltration. The cause. of the renal disorder in a mongrel dog could not be determined.

  • Paste micro-injection molding process was applied for fabrication of barrier ribs of PDP in an attempt to reduce processing steps and materials loss during the processing. For the paste, a thermally curable one was used and for the mold, a polymeric soft mold was used. It was demonstrated that the micro-molding process can be used successfully in producing barrier ribs of PDP.

  • The strain localization is a discontinuous phenomenon that addresses the formation of jumps of the field variables across a singularity surface. It has become widely accepted that the localization may occur as the result of discontinuous bifurcation which corresponds to the loss of ellipticity of the governing differential equations for elasto-plastic continua. In this paper, condition for strain localization in concrete based on bifurcation theory is studied and localization tensor analysis algorithm is employed to determine the directions of localization of deformations in concrete. By applying a plasticity model of concrete into the algorithm, localization analysis is performed concrete under uniaxial tension, pure shear and uniaxial compression.

  • The purpose of present study is to evaluate both the radiative heat loss from a flame and the local formation and oxidation rate of soot. The present paper describes a comprehensive mathematical model to deal with combustion and radiative heat transfer simultaneously. The involved radiative heat transfer model was based on the "heat ray tracing method" originally proposed by Hayasaka et al.. Some predicted results were compared with the experiments.periments.

  • Many countries in Asia have been researching for linking and activation of Asia transverse railway and we are trying to link Trans-Korean railway and Transcontinental railway. However we are confronted with a difficult question that the railway system of each country is different from each other-gauge, track formation and signal system. These problems will obstruct prior occupation of market because of loss of time and cost for trans vehicles and transshipment. In this paper, we tried to setting up development direction of Korean variable gauge vehicles by examine international development direction of variable gauge vehicles.

  • Diabetes is complex in nature but it gets further complicated in associating with number of other diseases like hypertension, ratinal disintegration, renal failure and many others. The latest addition to diabetic-complication is its association with bone degeneration disease:osteoporosis, which is a form of bone loss. In both the types of primary diabetes, the insulin dependent diabetes militus (IDDM) as well in insulin independent diabetes millitus (IIDM) the glucose metabolism is altered. (omitted)

  • In order to improve fuel economy and reduce CO2, HEV adopts ISG system as a standard. This ISG system increased the electric load that the battery had to bear, and the number of starting increased rapidly. AGM Lead Acid batteries have been developed and used, but the charging time is about three times longer as the electrolyte amount control during formation must be maintained at a higher level compared to conventional lead-acid batteries. In this study, we tried to shorten the charging time by increasing the charging efficiency through the optimization of the formation pattern. In order to optimize the Formation Pattern, 10 charging steps and 6 discharging steps were applied to 16 multi steps, and the charging current for each step was controlled, and the test was conducted under 4 conditions (21 hr, 24 hr, 27 hr, 30 hr). As a result of simultaneous application of multi-step and discharge step, it was verified that minimizing the current loss and eliminating the sudden polarization during charging contributes to the improvement of charging efficiency. As a result, it showed excellent results in reducing the charging time by about 30 % with improved charging efficiency compared to the previous one.

  • The Russo-Japanese War(1904-1905) in the early 20th century greatly influenced the international politics in Northeast Asia and the destiny of both countries. There are many studies on the cause of the outbreak and its effect on the Korean peninsula. The victory and defeat of the battle of Tsushima also the subject of research by renowned scholars and navy officers. Many previous studies have analyzed the process of engagement. However, There was a lack of research that analyzed at the tactical level of naval commanders. Therefore, this study tries to review the battle of Tsushima in terms of tactical level, that is formation, maneuvering, damage control. Naval operations at sea with many variables are not always done as planned. The intuitive judgement and readiness have had a decisive impact on victory and defeat. The analysis of the naval warfare on the basis of formation, maneuvering, and damage control makes the cause of the win more clearly. The conclusion of the this study can be summarized in five ways. First, victory would be achieved through the suppression of the beginning. The destiny of the Tsushima battle was determined by an 1 hour after first firing. The Japanese fleet caught fire by paralyzing the command and control capabilities of the Russian fleet. Second, the Japanese fleet's power was superior to the Russian fleet. In general, Japan and Russia had similar powers, and Admiral Togo's "T crossing tactics" decisively contributed the victory. However, when compared to the weapon system level, formation and maneuvering, Japan was much more dominant. Third, people realized that one side to be annihilated in the battle between similar powers after the Tsushima battle. The common perception before the Battle of Tsushima was that the battle ship would not sunken, and that the result of wiping out was difficult. However, there is s time for one sided victory and defeat depending on the early suppression nad the destruction of the command and control ability. Fourth, it is the importance of damage control ability. The main cause of the Russian fleet's loss of command and control ability was thick smoke from fire, and maneuverability was greatly deteriorated due to coal overload. In this way, importance is still valid after more than 100 tears. Fifth, the area of uncertainty. In the navy battles, one or two shots of clear firing in the beginning and small misconception and minor mistakes decide win or loss. Ultimately, this area of fortune can be linked to mindset of the commander. I hope this research will be help to naval researchers and naval commanders at the sea.
