The formation mechanism of the vortex streets in the lee of the mountain Is Investigated by a three-dimensional numerical model. The model is based upon the hydrostatic Boussinesq equations in which the vertical turbulent momentum flux is estimated by a turbulence parameterization scheme, but the horizontal viscosity is assumed to be constant. The results show that Karman vortex streets can form even without surface friction in a constant ambient flow with uniform stratification. The vortex formation is related to breaking of the mountain wave, which depends on the Froude number (Fr). In the case of a three-dimensional bell-shaped mountain, the wave breaking occurs when Fr is less than about 0.8, while a barman vortex forms when Fr is less than about 0.22. Vortex formation also depends on Reynolds number, which is estimated from the horizontal diffusivity. The vortex formation can be explained by the wave saturation theory given by Lindzen (1981) with some modification. Simulations in this study show that in the case of Karman vortex formation the momentum flux in the lower level is much larger than the saturated momentum flux, whereas it is almost equal to the saturated momentum at the upper levels as expected from the saturation theory. As a result, large flux divergence is produced in the lower layer, the mean flow is decelerated behind the mountain, and the horizontal wind shear forms between unmodified ambient wind. The momentum exchange between the mean flow and the mountain wave is produced by the turbulence within a breaking wave. From the result, well developed vortices like Karman vortex can be formed. . The results of the momentum budget calculated by the hydrostatic model are almost the same as nonhydrostatic results as long as horizontal scale of the mountain is 10 km. A well developed barman vortex similar to the hydrostatic one was simulated in the nonhydrostatic case. Therefore, we conclude that the hydrostatic assumption is adequate to investigate the origin of the Km8n vortex from the viewpoint of wave breaking.
The origin of fibroblasts, their proliferative activity and roles in the early stages of periodontal regeneration were investigated in order to better understand the periodontal healing process in furcation defects of the beagle dog after guided tissue regeneration. Newly divided cells were identified and quantitated by immunolocalization of bromodeoxyuridine (BrdU) injected 1 hour prior to sacrificing the animals. The results were as follows :1. During periodontal healing in horizontal furcation defect, three different stages, namely the granulation tissue, connective tissue, and bone formation stages, were identified on the basis of major types of cells and tissue. 2. In the early stages of periodontal regeneration, both the remaining periodontal ligament and alveolar bone compartment were the major sources. 3. The majority of BrdU-labeled fibroblasts were located at the following areas ; 1) the coronal zone of the defect in case of the connective tissue fanned on the root surface. 2) the area within an 400 ${\mu}m$ distance from the remaining bone level in case of the periodontal ligament. 3) the area within an 100 ${\mu}m$ distance from the bone surface in case of areas of active bone formation.4. The highly proliferative fibroblasts adjacent to bone surface played a major role in the formation of osteoblast precursor cells, whereas both paravascular and endosteal cells played a minor role in new bone formation, In conclusion, it was suggested that the fibroblasts in the remaining periodontal ligament and bone will play a major role in periodontal regeneration, whereas both paravascular and endosteal cells will play a minor role in new bone formation.

Objectives : This study was carried out to investigate the inhibitive effect of a combined-herb prescription of Dansam-san (DSS) on formation of foam cells and cytokine. Methods : Experimental formation of foam cells was induced on macrophage RAW 264.7 with ox-LDL. The effect of DSS extract was observed by measuring the changes of CD36, $PPAR-{\Gamma}$, MMP-9, iNOS expression and changes of formation level of foam cells after treating experimentally induced foam cells with DSS extract. Then the antioxidative effect of DSS extract was compared with butylated hydroxyanisole (BHA). Result and Conclusions : Results obtained are as follows: 1. DSS extract showed significant antioxidative effect at 8 mg/ml or more. 2. DSS extract inhibited the formation of foam cells. 3. DSS extract inhibited the creation and revelation of conversion-related material about foam cells. 4. DSS extract prohibited the increase of smooth muscle of vessels.

In-situ $CaCO_3$ formation onto recycled wood pulp was studied to improve optical properties and ash attachment to the fiber furnish in papermaking. We controlled initial reaction temperature of in-situ $CaCO_3$ formation method from $30^{\circ}C$ to $50^{\circ}C$. It was found that the attachment of newly formed $CaCO_3$ to recycled fibers, old newspaper (ONP) in this case, was stronger than that of ground calcium carbonate (GCC, mean dia. $2.4{\mu}m$) addition case, but was not much different among those formed at different temperature. Morphologies of newly formed $CaCO_3$ were changed according to the reaction temperature. More aragonite shape was seen at higher temperature. In-situ $CaCO_3$ formation increased brightness and lowered ERIC value of ONP sheet greatly at the same level of ash contents when compared to GCC addition method, but gave equivalent ERIC and brightness when compared to those of the precipitated calcium carbonate (PCC) addition method. However, tensile strength of the handsheets of the in-situ $CaCO_3$ formation method were much greater than those of the PCC addition method.
Most bacteria form biofilm as self-defence system, making efficient food sanitization, preservation, and instrument washing more difficult. Biofilm formation of Salmonella, E. coli, B. cereus, and S. aureus was observed during 24 hr food preservations by performing microtiter plate and glass wool assays. Most cells formed biofilm and attached onto glass wool. When biofilm formation and injury were analyzed on the microtiter plate, 10 and 20% acid-injured E. coli and S. aureus, respectively, 30-50% cold temperature $(4^{\circ}C)-injured$ B. cereus and E. coli, and 30-55% 6% sodium chloride solution-injured Salmonella showed significant biofilm formation. Results indicate biofilm formation level differed within species depending on type of stress.

Background: The transosseous anchorless repair (ToR) technique was recently introduced to avoid suture anchor-related problems. While favorable outcomes of the ToR technique have been reported, no previous studies on peri-implant cyst formation with the ToR technique exist. Therefore, this study compared the clinical outcomes and prevalence of peri-implant cyst formation between the ToR technique and the conventional transosseous equivalent technique using suture anchors (SA). Methods: Cases with arthroscopic rotator cuff repair (ARCR) between 2016 and 2018 treated with the double-row suture bridge technique were retrospectively reviewed. Patients were divided into ToR and SA groups. To compare clinical outcomes, 19 ToR and 57 SA cases without intraoperative implant failure were selected using propensity score matching (PSM). While intraoperative implant failure rate was analyzed before PSM, retear rate, peri-implant cyst formation rate, and functional outcomes were compared after PSM. Results: The intraoperative implant failure rate (ToR, 8% vs. SA, 15.3%) and retear rate (ToR, 5.3% vs. SA, 19.3%) did not differ between the two groups (all P>0.05). However, peri-implant cysts were not observed in the ToR group, while they were observed in 16.7% of the SA group (P=0.008). Postoperative functional outcomes were not significantly different between the two groups (all P>0.05). Conclusions: The ToR technique produced comparable clinical outcomes to conventional techniques. Considering the prospect of potential additional surgeries, the absence of peri-implant cyst formation might be an advantage of ToR. Furthermore, ToR might reduce the medical costs related to suture anchors and, thereby, could be a useful option for ARCR. Level of evidence: III.
The Electrostatic Charge Prevention Technology is a core factor that highly influences the yield of Ultra High Resolution Flat Panel Display and high-integrated semiconductor manufacturing processes. The corona or x-ray ionizations are commonly used in order to eliminate static charges during manufacturing processes. To develop such a revolutionary x-ray ionizer that is free of x-ray radiation and has function to control the volume of ion formation simultaneously is a goal of this research and it absolutely overcomes the current risks of x-ray ionization. Under the International Commission on Radiological Protection, it must have a leakage radiation level that should be lower than a recommended level that is $1{\mu}Sv/hour$. In this research, the new generation of x-ray ionizer can easily control both the volume of ion formation and the leakage radiation level at the same time. In the research, the test constraints were set and the descriptions are as below; First, In order not to leak x-ray radiation while testing, the shielding box was fully installed around the test equipment area. Second, Implement the metallic Ring Electrode along a tube window and applied zero to ${\pm}8kV$ with respect to manage the positive and negative ions formation. Lastly, the ion duty ratio was able to be controlled in different test set-ups along with a free x-ray leakage through the metallic Ring Electrode. In the result of experiment, the maximum x-ray radiation leakage was $0.2{\mu}Sv/h$. These outcome is lower than the ICRP 103 recommended value, which is $1{\mu}Sv/h$. When applying voltage to the metallic ring electrode, the positive decay time was 2.18s at the distance of 300 mm and its slope was 0.272. In addition, the negative decay time was 2.1s at the distance of 300 mm and its slope was 0.262. At the distance of 200 mm, the positive decay time was 2.29s and its slope was 0.286. The negative decay time was 2.35s and its slope was 0.293. At the distance of 100 mm, the positive decay time was 2.71s and its slope was 0.338. The negative decay time was 3.07s and its slope was 0.383. According to these research, the observation was shown that these new concept of ionizer is able to minimize the leakage radiation level and to control the positive and negative ion duty ratio while ionization.

Comparison results of callus formation ratio from seed explants, callus sizes, regeneration ratios from callus and regeneration efficiency [calculated by following formular; callus formation ratio(%) ${\times}$ regeneration ratio(%)/100] for 27 ochardgrass (Dactylis glomerata L.)varieties imported and Hapsung 2 developed in Korea are as follows; 1. Among ochardgrass varieties showing more than 50% callus formation ratios, the descending order of callus formation ratio after bedding the seed explants for 4 weeks was 93M>Sparta> Pizza>Condor>Lidaglo>Glorus>Hapsung 2>Frode. 2. The callus sizes after bedding for 4 weeks were in the range of $\Phi$ 0.43cm~4.2cm in which there was 10 times size difference between the largest one and the smallest one but most of them were between ${\Phi}2.5cm~4cm$. 3. The regeneration ratio from callus among varieties were in the range of 0~36% and descending order of the upper 6 varieties was Plano>Akimidori>Justus>Lidacta>Currie>Hall mark. 4. The regeneration efficiency which is calculated by the ratios of regeneration from seed explant numbers was between 0 to 17.4% among which Justus showed the highest value in the 4-week treatment. 5. The correlation between callus formation ratios and the callus sizes, callus formation ratios and regeneration efficiency, and callus sizes and regeneration efficiency were r=0.5765, r=0.6365 and r=0.6246, respectively in 4-week callus and all the correlations were significant on the 1% level. 6. In 6-week callus, the descending order callus formation ratios from seed explants fur the best 6 varieties was Condor>Sparta>93 M>Justus>Potomac>Lidaglo>Frode. 7. The callus sizes formed were between ${\Phi}1.5~5.7cm$ in which Sparta, the largest one of ${\Phi}5.7cm$ was five times larger than the smallest one. The callus size of the control variety, Hapsung 2 was ${\Phi}3.8cm$, which belonged to a larger size. 8. Regeneration ratio showed a great deviation among varieties from 6-week old calli by showing from 0% to 100% in which all the calli were regenerated in Piano while no callus was regenerated in Juno. 9. The range of regeneration efficiency was between 0~28% among varieties in which the values from 6-week callus treatment were larger than those from 4-week callus treatment. Especially, the value of Potomac in 6-week was 3 times larger than that in 4-week. 10. The correlation between callus formation ratios and the callus sizes, callus formation ratios and regeneration efficiency, and callus sizes and regeneration efficiency were r=0.5369, r=0.6683 and r=0.5937. respectively in 6-week callus, and all the correlations were significant on the 1% level.
This study proposes a strategy for the creation and management of urban forests in Paju Heyri art village. Urban forest composition attributes (4 categories and 16 items) were extracted and the questionnaire was asked to the level and the current level for tourists, local residents and workers in Paju Heyri art village. And the priority order for the creation of urban forests was derived through the difference between the present level (performance) and the required level (importance) and the requirements analysis procedure. In this study, the priorities of each item of urban forest formation attributes were determined. The t-test alone had limitations, so we calculated the Borich needs which were not covered by the existing Importance - Performance Analysis (IPA). We used the Locus for Focus Model, which is a method for visually confirming the difference between the current level and the required value for the required level in the 4-quadrant coordinate plane. The results of this study show that the seven priorities can be used as a useful tool for the formulation of urban forests and operational strategies and can be a basic research for the activation of urban forests in the future.
