  • Hull form development and Anti-rolling tank of G/T 360ton class fishery patrol ship was carried out in the CWC at Chosun university, cooperatively with WJFEL(The West Japan Fluid Engineering Laboratory). Same size of 15 knots class fishery patrol ship was selected as a parent form(Model number: CU-015), and modified fore and after body hull form under the slightly lengthened to be suitable for the operation at 20 knots. This paper investigated for a rolling performance and an effective using method when fishery patrol ship was equipped with anti-rolling tank. On several occasions of rolling test was made reference to design data of a similar ship. Although the hull form was highly constrained in being limited to modification of a parent hull form, significant wave resistance improvement was made.

Counter Flow 방식의 랙 다이를 이용한 고정 밀도 Worm 전조기술 개발 (Development of Form Rolling Technology for High Precision Worm Using the Rack Dies of Counter Flow Type)

  • The objective of this study is to suggest the form rolling technology to produce high precision worm on the base of three dimensional finite element simulation and experiment. It is important to determine the initial workpiece diameter in form rolling because it affects the quality of tooth profile. The calculation method of the initial workpiece diameter in form rolling is suggested and it is verified by finite element simulation. The form rolling processes of worm shaft used as automotive part using both the rack dies of counter flow type and the roll dies are considered and simulated with the same numerical model as actual process by the commercial finite element code, BEFORM-3D. Deformation modes of workpiece between the form rolling by the rack dies of counter flow type and the roll dies are investigated from the result of simulation. The experiments using rack dies and roll dies are performed under the same conditions as those of simulation. The surface roughness, the straightness and the profile of worm are measured precisely using the worm shafts obtained from experiment. The results of simulation and experiment in this study show that the form rolling process of worn shaft using the rack dies is decidedly superior to that using roll dies from the aspect of the precision of worm such as the surface roughness, the straightness and the profile of worm.

  • The objective of this study is to suggest the form rolling technology to produce high precision worm. Rack dies and roll dies are usually used to roll parts with worm teeth. The form roiling processes of worm shaft used as automotive part using the rack dies of counter flow type and the roll dies are considered and simulated by the commercial finite element code, DEFORM-3D. It is also important to determine the initial blank diameter in form rolling because it affects the quality of thread. The calculation method of the initial blank diameter in form rolling is suggested and it is verified by FE-simulation. The experiments using rack dies and roll dies are performed under the same conditions as those of simulation. The results of simulation and experiment in this study show that the from rolling process of worm shaft using the rack dies is decidedly superior to that using rolling dies from the aspect of the surface roughness and the profile of worm.

  • Hydrodynamic moments produced by the rolling oscillation on the free surface and the associated swaying force were exactly calculated by Ursell-Tasai method for the cylinders with Kim's chine form sections($a_1,\;a_7$). The coefficient of the added moment of inertia $K_{\varphi^{\tau}}$, the progressive wave height ratio $\bar{A}$, the coefficient of swaying forces $K_{RS}$, ${\alpha}_{RS}$ of rolling oscillations are shown in the several figures. The results of the computation were compared with those of lewis form sections. It is concluded that the effect of the section form on the added moment of inertia is significant for the cylinder with the section of same beam-draft ratio and sectional area coefficient, on the other hand, a little effect appears on the wave damping.

열간압연시 미세조직 예측을 위한 유한요소 모델 (A Finite Element Model for Predicting the Microstructural Evolution in Hot Rolling)

  • A full three-dimensional thermo-coupled rigid-viscoplastic finite element method and the currently developed microstructural evolution system which includes semi-empirical equations suggested by different research groups were used together to form an integrated system of process and micro- structure simulation of hot rolling. The distribution and time histroy of the momechanical variables such as temperature, strain, strain rate, and time during pass and between passes were obtained from the finite element analysis of multipass hot rolling processes. The distribution of metallurgical variables were calculated on the basis of instantaneous thermomechanical data. For the verification of this method the evolution of microstructure in plate rolling and shape rolling was simulated and their results were compared with the data available in the literature. Consequently, this approach makes it possible to describe the realistic evolution of microstructure by avoiding the use of erroneous average value and can be used in CAE of multipass hot rolling.

  • Many kinds of rolling-stocks that have various control methods are being operated by Seoulmetro which is a history of a city railroad rolling-stock. Seoulmetro is being faced with a wheel management comparing of other lines with a perpendicular wear of wheel and a side damage, and so on, by operating several cars at a loop line. This is causing maintenance expenses increase and deteriorating a fusibility of rolling-stock, for it has an effect on a rolling-stock using. A cutting pattern of wheel and a wear form affect the expected span of a wheel. A wheel cutting cause is classifed into cutting for reprofiling of a flange wear of wheel and for removing every kind defect which originates from wheel wear. In this study, Seoulmetro exhibit a stable rolling-stock use method and a reasonable management method of wheel, analysing wheel exchange condition and cutting management of wheel.

비지어곡면에 의한 블렌드곡면의 모델링 (Modeling of Blend Surfaces by Bezier Surface Patches)

  • Ball rolling blending is a popular technique for blending between parametric surfaces. The ball rolling blend surface is conceptually a trajectory of a ball rolling between two base sufaces. It is constructed by sweeping a circular arc along a ball contact curve pair. Since a ball rolling blend surfaces does not have a polynomial form like a Bezier surface patch, it is impossible to apply this method directly to a commercial CAD/CAM system. In this paper an algorithm is developed to approximate a ball rolling blend surface into Bezier surface patches. Least square method is applied to obtain proper Bezier surface patches under a given tolerance. The Bezier surface patches have degree three or more and guarantee VC1-continuity.
