  • 용접 넥 플랜지는 파이프간의 상호연결에 널리 사용되고 있다. 이 플랜지는 열간 단조 공정으로 제작되며, 심해에서 고압이 요구되는 분야에 사용되는 경우 플랜지 기저부 및 목 부분에 높은 항복강도가 요구된다. 일반적으로 항복강도 향상을 위해 탄소함유량을 높이면 고 강도를 얻을 수 있으나, 용접이 요구되는 제품의 특성상 탄소함유량을 최대 0.47로 제한함으로써 고용체 강화에 의한 강도 향상에는 한계가 있다. 이러한 경우 탄소 함유량의 변화 없이 강도를 향상시킬 수 있는 결정립 미세화 강화를 이용하여 제품의 항복강도를 향상시킬 수 있다. 본 연구에서는 다구찌 기법을 통해 최적의 결정립 미세화를 위한 단조공정을 제시하고 타당성을 검토하기 위해 유한요소해석을 수행하였다.

  • In a large scale oil hydraulic system having repeatedly operated actuator, such as a large scale forging press, pressure surges often due to the recombination of oil column in a return line attached to the downstream side of a directional control valve. Expecially, the pressure surges appear very severe ones at a certain valve operating frequency. These pressure surges restrict the operating frequency of the hydraulic system. But related reports on the above mentioned phenomenon are rarely to be found. In this study, therefore, the authors investigate the exact reason why such severe pressure surges occur at a certain range of valve operating frequency. The study is performed by experiment and numerical computation on the relationship between pressure surges and valve operating frequency.

소듐냉각고속로(원형로) 주요기기 제작 특성 (Manufacturing characteristic of major components for prototype SFR)

  • The prototype SFR has currently been under design by KAERI. The size of its major components is much larger than that of APR1400 and high temperature materials are applied for it. The increased size of components and those specific materials effect on material procurement, manufacturing process and fabrication facilities. The manufacturing methods are studied for Reactor Vessel/Guard Vessel, Control Rod Drive Mechanism, Heat Exchanger, Primary Pump, Reactor Vessel Internals, Steam Generator and In-Vessel Transfer Machine. The proper manufacturing methods are suggested for each component including side forging technology for ultra large forgings of Reactor Vessel to minimize the weld seams on which In-service Inspection should be conducted.

  • The oil pressure switch(OPS) for automobile is very important part to prevent an overheated engine and other problems by checking the operation of an engine oil system and displaying oil signs on a dashboard. OPS is the part that receives various stress caused by temperature, vibration, and corrosion in an engine room. Regarding existing steel OPS cases, there occur field errors due to the rust, and much concern comes from the low anticorrosion caused by CR6+ Free according to the restrictions of heavy metals. Therefore, the study analyzed average life, the failure rate, and reliability through the tests of performance according to temperature changes, mechanical strength, and run-test in order to confirm if the use of the oil pressure switch with Al of anti-corrosion can improves the reliability, instead of the existing steel products.

분말단조 공정의 3차원 유한요소해석 (Three Dimensional Finite Element Analysis for Powder Forging Process)

  • In order to obtain homogeneous and high quality products in powder compaction forging process, it is very important to control stress, strain, density and density distributions. Therefore, it is necessary to understand quantitatively the elasto-plastic deformation and densification behaviors of porous metals and metal powders. In this study, elasto-plastic finite element method using Lee-Kim's pressure dependent porous material yield function has been used for the analysis of three dimensional indenting process. The analysis predicts deformed geometry, stress, strain and density distribution and load. The calculated load is in good agreement with experimental one. The calculated results do not show axisymmetric distributions because of the edge effect. The core part which is in contact with the indentor and the outer diagonal edge part are in compressive stress states and the middle part is in tensile stress state. As a results, it can be concluded that three dimensional analysis is more realistic than axisymmetric assumption approach.

  • To improve the efficiency of fossil power plant, the higher steam temperature and pressure are required. Ultra super critical(USC) system meets very well this requirement. The HIP rotor is one of the most important parts of turbine in USC system and its material is easy to crack during hot forging. In this study, the upsetting and cogging process far $12\%Cr$ ESR ingot was analyzed and it is suggested a optimum process to avoid surface crack. The results were verified by test product with 4,200 tonnage press.

  • The semi-solid process has been developed near net-shape components for kinds of methods. Thixo-forming with reheating prepared billet and rheo-forming with cooled melt until semi-solid state. Material is applied electromagnetic stirring system to slurry with aluminum 6061 alloy. An experiment has variation factors which are pressure, solid-fraction, stirring current and stirring time. The mechanical properties are compared to forge sample with to apply heat treatment T6. This study is researched function a virtual pressure and fine shape zone. Optimum pressure is found to prevent defect of porosity.

사각 컵 배터리 케이스 바닥 벤트 성형을 위한 단조 금형 설계 (Forging Die Design for Vent Forming of Square Cup Battery Case)

  • 최근 자동차 산업에서 전기 모터 연료 전지에 대한 수요가 급증했으며, 연료 전지 케이스로 사용되는 사각형 알루미늄 캔에 대한 수요 또한 증가하고 있다. 직사각형 배터리 케이스의 바닥에 있는 에어 벤트는 비정상적으로 높은 압력이 발생할 때 미리 압력을 방출하여 큰 폭발을 방지하는 역할을 한다. 직사각형 컵 배터리 케이스는 6 단계의 다단계 딥 드로잉으로 외형을 만들고 직사각형 배터리 케이스와 용접하여 벤트 부품을 제작해왔다. 그러나 본 연구에서는 직사각형 케이스의 바닥면에 공기 벤트 형상을 직접 추가 하는 연구를 수행하였다. 단조의 초기 형상으로는 사각 컵 다단식 딥 드로잉 성형 해석에서 추출한 두께와 형상을 이용한 유한 요소 해석 기법을 사용 하였다. 그 결과, 예측 정밀도가 향상되고, 배부름 및 파단 등의 결함을 미리 예측할 수 있었다. 초기 분석 결과를 토대로 두 가지 단조 형상이 후보로 제시되었고 성형 해석을 통해 최적의 단조 형상을 결정 하였다. 이러한 결과를 바탕으로 금형을 제작하고 실제 결과와 분석 결과를 비교하여 본 연구의 타당성을 검증하였다.

A Study on the Heat Transfer Enhancement of Miniature loop Heat Pipes by Using the Cu Nanofluids

  • An experimental study was carried out to understand the heat transfer performance of a miniature loop heat pipes using water-based copper nanoparticles suspensions as the working fluid. The suspensions consisted of deionized water and copper nanoparticles with an average diameter of 80 nm. Effects of the cupper mass concentration and the operation pressure on the average evaporation and condensation heat transfer coefficients, the critical heat flux and the total heat resistance of the mLHPs were investigated and discussed. The pressure frequency also depends upon the evaporator temperature which has been maintained from $60^{\circ}C$ to $90^{\circ}C$. The Investigation shows 60% filling ratio gives the highest inside pressure magnitude of highest number pressure frequency at any of setting of evaporator temperature and 5wt% results the lowest heat flow resistance.

펀치 노우즈의 곡률반경이 표면확장에 미치는 영향 (Influence of Punch Nose Radius on the Surface Expansion)

  • This paper is related to an analysis on the surface expansion in backward can extrusion process using spherical punches. It is generally known that the backward can extrusion process usually experiences severe normal pressure and heavy surface expansion. This is a reason why the backward can extrusion process is one of most difficult operations among many forging processes. Different punch nose radii have been applied to the simulation to investigate the effect of punch nose radius on the surface expansion, which is a major effort in this study. AA 2024 aluminum alloy is selected as a model material for investigation. Different frictional conditions have also been selected as a process parameter. The pressure applied on the punch has been also investigated since heavy surface expansion as well as high normal pressure on the tool usually leads to severe tribological conditions along the interface between material and tool. The simulation results are summarized in terms of surface expansion at different reduction in height, deformation patterns including strain distributions and maximum pressure exerted on the workpiece and punch, the effect of punch nose radius and the frictional condition on the surface expansion and the location and magnitude of maximum pressure exerted, respectively.
