외국인 소비자 국적에 따른 한국 안경 제품 구매에 대한 만족도 조사 (A Survey of Foreign Consumers Satisfaction with Eye-wear Products in Korea According to Nationality)

  • 목적: 한국 안경원 제품에 대한 외국인의 만족도를 조사하고자 하였다. 방법: 한국 안경원의 이용 경험이 있는 외국인 106명(미국/캐나다, 일본, 중국, 그 외 아시아 등)을 대상으로 안경원에서 판매 되는 제품, 가격, 시력교정, 시설 그리고 친절도 등을 설문 조사하였다. 결과: 한국 안경원에서 외국인은 안경(62%)과 선글라스(25%)를 주로 구입하였고, 구입 제품의 품질 만족도의 경우 그 외 아시아 국가와 중국이 미국/캐나다와 일본에 비해 높았고, 가격만족도는 일본과 미국/캐나다가 중국과 아시아 국가보다 높았다. 시력 교정과 안경원 시설 만족도는 미국/캐나다인 에게서 상대적으로 낮게 나타났고 제품 설명 등 친절도는 모든 국적 외국인에게서 대체로 낮게 나타났다. 결론: 한국 안경원에 대한 만족도는 외국인의 국적에 따라 유의하게 차이가 있는 것으로 나타나, 소비 만족도의 다양한 항목을 바탕으로 국내 거주하는 외국인의 국적별 맞춤 마케팅 전략을 세우는데 기초가 될 것으로 판단된다.

국내 거주 외국인의 한류(韓流)에 대한 견해와 국내 의류 제품 구매 행동 (The Opinion about 'Hanllyu' and the Domestic Apparel Product Buying Behavior of Foreigners Residing in Seoul)

  • The purpose of this study is to analyse the foreigner's opinion about 'Hanllyu', and their buying behavior of clothes carried in Korean domestic market. The study was implemented through a normative-descriptive survey using self-administered questionnaires. The samples consisted of 75 foreigners residing in Korea. Data were analyzed by following statistical methods: frequency analysis, ${\chi}^2-test$, t-test, ANOVA, Scheffe's multiple range test. Results are as follows: There was no difference in the opinion about 'Hanllyu' between Chinese and Japanese. They regarded 'Hanllyu' as the phenomenon of the wave of Korean popular culture. Korean soap operas and movies were the main information sources on 'Hanllyu' stars for them. Significant differences were found in the behavior toward 'Hanllyu' stars according to sex and country, but there was no difference in the behavior according to their age. They mainly buy clothes in Dongdaemoon market and the main motivation of purchase were good design and price. The reason for dis-purchase was poor design. Respondents thought 'Hanllyu' fashion is gorgeous. There was significant difference in the behavior toward Korean culture according to sex.

외국인 묘지 기념물의 디테일 특성 - 양화진 외국인 묘지공원을 사례로 - (The Characteristics of Monuments in a Cemetery - ln the Case of the Seoul Foreigners' Cemetery Park at Yanghwajin -)

  • The purpose of this study is to identify the characteristics of monuments in the Seoul Foreigners′ cemetery at Yanghwajin, a place where many prominent Christian missionaries and other Christians have been buried near Choltusan. In considering the characteristics of gravestone details, the researcher has divided the details into 4 analysis categories: forms, symbols, epitaphs, and materials. For this research, 281 monuments were selected including 68 of missionaries, 26 of U. S. Army Soldiers, and 13 of teachers. The analysis revealed that there were 26 types of monuments. This includes simple and standardized types like the tablet, headstone, marker, and monolith. These were used more often than other shaped types such as the Cross, obelisk, sculpture, etc. Standardized types made in Korea have been preferred after the 1950s even though the beauty of the gravestones has been degraded. Symbolical decorations related to religious, social, professional or military emblems were also introduced to strengthen their symbolical objectives. Among them, fie Cross was the most predominant Christian symbol and emblem. The families wanted to inscribe epitaphs, the greater part of which originated from the Bible, poems, idioms related to tribute, rest, supplications to deity, love, achievement, to express human sentiment and religious faith. When using materials for making monuments, monument makers have mostly used stone because of its durability. Until the 1950s, various stones had been used to make monuments, for most marble and granite were brought from foreign countries. These were very different from the Korean white marble stone used for many monuments. After the 1950s, the source of stone has been limited to Korean stone, for Korean could make stone monuments that foreigners were agreeable. Especially, a black marble stone called "O-Suk" which means black stone, has been used as a main material. The study identified the following characteristics of monument details in the Seoul foreigners′ cemetery at Yanghwajin. First, Christianity has been applied as the main concept, while symbolizing the homogeneity of religious, family, social, professional or military groups by having the symbolic form, symbol, and epitaph in common. Second, monuments made after the 1950s have been standardized into unattractive and monotonous forms by the limited materials, and so the beauty of the monuments has been degraded.

  • The purpose of this study were (1) to thumbnail sketch of present general condition of foreigners and international marriage in Korea, (2) to study special trend of international marriage in rural Korea, particularly immigration connected with poverty, and (3) to focus on prospect of the problem of mixed-bloods, especially half blood children in rural Korea. Many of foreigners were treated discriminatingly, for example racial discrimination and wage discrimination. And discrimination to mixed-blood children will be happen in future. They are in a disadvantageous position because of economic status and appearances. Half blood children have korean nationality because one of his parent is korean. When they grow up and reach their the age of puberty and the age of working, they will resist to discrimination in working and marriage. I had examined precedent studies, and class theory in general, and to suggest it is time to looking for way of reduce social cost and way of coexistence.

국내거주 외국인의 재난 시 서비스에 대한 인식조사 연구 (A Study on the Awareness of Foreigners in the Country for the Occurrence of Disasters)

  • 본 논문에서는 국내에 거주하고 있는 외국인의 현황을 검토하고 이를 대상으로 재난의 경험 여부, 재난발생 시 위험성 및 문제점, 재난대응활동을 위한 서비스의 요구도 등에 대하여 인식조사를 실시하였다. 그 결과 재난발생 시 언어소통의 어려움으로 인한 신고의 어려움, 신고의 방법을 모른다는 점이 가장 큰 문제점으로 나타났다. 이에 대한 개선방안으로 신고를 접수할 수 있는 외국어 가능 전문인력을 확충하고 재난안전서비스가 필요한 곳에 지속적으로 제공해줄 필요성을 확인하였다. 또한 언어적인 문제와 신고방법의 어려움을 해소할 수 있는 제도적인 대책의 필요성을 확인하였다.

Injury trends among foreign and domestic tourists in Jeju from 2008 to 2018

  • Jeju is the largest island in Korea and one of its key tourist attractions. As the number of foreign tourists steadily increases, so does the number of injuries incurred there. Accordingly, this study aimed to describe and compare the characteristics of injuries suffered by foreign tourists versus those of domestic tourists. As a cross-sectional study of a retrospective medical record survey, the study was conducted with reference to the Jeju Injury Surveillance System from the 11-year period of January 2008 to December 2018. The following factors were investigated: demographic data, mechanism of injury, place of occurrence, activity when injured, patient outcome, and mortality. A total of 92,095 injured Jeju Island visitors was recorded during this time, a number that included 88,050 Koreans and 4,045 foreigners. The gender ratio showed similar patterns between the two groups and there were no significant age differences. In both groups, the most common mechanism of injury was collisions/cuts. Also, more foreigners experienced falls than Koreans. Regarding the location, Koreans had the most road accidents, while foreigners were most likely to be injured at outdoor locations, such as seas and rivers. Furthermore, more foreigners experienced severe injuries requiring hospitalization. Notably, this study showed the differences in injury between foreign and Korean tourists visiting Jeju Island and its findings lend support to targeted safety promotion programs.

국내거주 국가별 외국인의 한식 및 약선의 세계화 평가 (Evaluation of the Globalization of Korean Foods and Yak-sun among Nationalities of Foreigners Living in Korea)

  • This study investigated the perception, evaluation, and the possibility for globalizing Korean foods and Yak-sun among different nationalities of foreigners living in Korea. A survey was conducted with 171 foreigners (eastern Asian, southeastern and central Asian, European, and American). The questionnaire was composed of three parts, including perception, evaluation, and the possibility for globalizing Korean foods and Yak-sun. The reason for choosing Korean foods cited by southeastern and central Asians and Americans was "taste", whereas eastern Asians and Europeans chose "culture" and "curiosity", respectively. Americans and Europeans considered "spiciness" as a reason not to choose Korean foods (P<0.001). Regarding the possibility of globalizing Korean foods, eastern Asians and Americans/Europeans/southeast Asians and central Asians responded "Korean dining culture" and "incomprehensive menus", respectively (P<0.05). An "explanation of the menu to foreigners" was regarded as the main suggestion for globalizing Korean food. Most of the respondents understood that Yak-sun is an oriental medicinal food that provides improved health and disease prevention. A number of Europeans and Americans expressed high interest in the conceptualization of Yak-sun (P<0.001). With regard to the priority for developing Yak-sun, eastern Asians, southeastern and central Asians, and Europeans picked out "health status improvement", whereas "improved nutritional status" was manifested in the majority of the American's responses (P<0.001). Therefore, it is crucial that "localization" be applied to Korean foods and Yak-sun to meet the international standard. Furthermore, it is necessary to provide simplified and correct Korean food content information to foreigners.

국내 거주 외국인의 치과의료 이용 실태조사 (Use of Dental Institutions among Foreigners in Korea)

  • 본 연구는 국내 일부 지역에 거주하는 외국인의 치과의료 이용 실태를 분석하여 국내 거주 외국인에 대한 치과의료서비스를 확충하고, 관련 제도의 개선을 위한 기초자료를 제공하고자 수행하였다. 조사 대상자의 대부분이 국내에서의 치과치료 경험이 없었고, 치과치료를 받지 못한 이유는 시간부족과 진료비 부담 때문이었다. 건강보험이 있는 경우 치과치료 경험이 많았으며, 국내 치과의료기관 이용 시 만족도는 전반적으로 불만족하다고 응답하였다. 따라서, 국제화 시대에서 날로 증가하고 있는 외국인들이 국내에 체류하는 동안 기본적인 구강건강을 유지하고 양질의 치과의료서비스를 받을 수 있도록 실질적인 치과의료서비스 확충 및 관련 보건정책의 수립이 필요하다.

코로나19 긴급재난지원금을 둘러싼 한국과 일본의 다문화 국민에 대한 유튜브 댓글 비교 (Comparison of YouTube Comments on Multicultural Citizens of Korea and Japan over COVID-19 Emergency Relief Funds)

  • 본 연구에서는 한국과 일본은 단일 민족 국가관을 같이하지만, 정부의 코로나19 긴급재난금 외국인 대상에 대해서는 차이가 있었고 이에 대해 다수의 반응을 살펴보았다. 이를 위해 동영상 소셜미디어인 유튜브에서 한국과 일본 각국의 거주 외국인에게 코로나19 재난지원금을 지원한다는 동영상에 나타난 사용자들의 댓글을 분석하였다. 연구결과 한국과 일본은 공통적으로 긍정 의견들의 전제 조건들은 세금 납부 여부이며 즉 의무만 다한다면 이주민도 선주민과 같이 국가의 혜택, 지원을 받을 수 있다는 의견이다. 다음으로 한국과 일본은 공통적으로 한·중·일 서로를 의식하고 있음을 댓글을 통해 알 수 있다. 한국과 일본의 댓글에서 가장 두드러지는 차이점은 '국적'이다. 일본은 제도에 근거해 선주민과 이주민을 구분하고 한국은 국적의 여부보다 세금과 돈과 관련해 의견이 더 몰려있음을 알 수 있었다. 본 연구는 한국과 일본의 긴급재난지원금 외국인 포함 정책에 대해 외국인 인식 비교가 가능했다는 의의가 있다.

외래관광객과 주한외국인의 한국음식 및 전통외식업체에 대한 인식 차이 비교 분석 (The Gap Analysis of Recognition and Preference for Korean Traditional Foods and Restaurants between Foreign Visitors and Foreign Residents)

  • This study was prepared to present the research data for the promotion of Korean foods and restaurants in Korea and abroad by an analysis of the recognition and preference of Korean traditional foods and an importance-performance analysis of Korean restaurants by foreign visitors (n=351) and foreign residents (n=365). The most recognized Korean foods among foreigners were Bibimbap>Kimchi>Bulogi>Galbi>Samgyetang;however, the most preferred Korean foods were statistically different; Bibimbap>Kimchi>Bulgogi>Galbi>Rameyeon by foreign visitors and Bulgogi>Bibimbap>Galbi>Samgyetang>Kimchi by foreign residents. Especially, the preferences for Samgyetang and Dakgalbi were increased whereas that for Kimchi was decreased in foreign residents. The Korean foods were described as 'hot and pungent' and 'spicy' by foreign visitors, but 'hot and pungent', 'non-greasy' and 'salty' by foreign residents. In choosing a restaurant, 'quality of food' was most important among foreigners, but 'proper price' was considered more significant than 'sanitation and cleanness' by foreign residents compared with foreign visitors. The satisfaction with Korean restaurants of foreign residents was lower than that of foreign visitors. An analysis of importance and performance of Korean restaurants by foreigners was performed. There were significant differences in the evaluations of Korean restaurants between foreign visitors and foreign residents (p<0.05). The importance of the attributes related with 'foods' and 'sanitation' were rated higher by foreign residents. On the other hand, foreign visitors rated the importance of the attributes related to 'eating environment' and 'employees' more highly. Foreign residents significantly rated the performances of Korean restaurants lower in each attribute except 'additional free side dishes' and 'communications'.
