단일 언어 사용 2-3세 아동의 외국어 단어에 대한 이해 (Monolingual 2- to 3-Year-Old Children's Understanding of Foreign Words)

  • Objective: This study investigated the age at which monolingual children can understand that different languages are different conventional systems of communication. In particular, we investigated when children can suspend using the mutual exclusivity (ME) assumption that a label solely refers to one category when interpreting novel words from foreign languages. Methods: Two-year-olds (n = 16) and 3-year-olds (n = 16) participated in the procedure, which consisted of three blocks. In the first block, a Korean speaker taught the children a novel word, muppi, referring to a novel object. The children were presented with two objects, muppi and another novel object. The Korean speaker then asked the children to find a referent of either muppi or the other novel Korean label, kkati. In the second block, a foreign language (either English or Spanish) speaker asked children to find the object for a foreign novel word, sefo, presenting two objects: muppi and the third novel object, which had not been presented before. The procedure of the third block was identical to that of the first block. Results: Three-year-olds exploited the ME assumption when interpreting a Korean novel word but not when interpreting a foreign novel word. In contrast, 2-year-old children did not use the ME assumption when interpreting native and foreign words. Conclusion: Children acquire an understanding that native and foreign languages have different words for an object at least by 3 years of age.

Fretting-Wear Characteristics of Steam Generator Tubes by Foreign Object

  • This study investigates the safety assessment of the potential for fretting-wear damages on steam generator (SG) U-tubes caused by foreign object in operating nuclear power plants. The operating SG shell-side flow field conditions are obtained from three-dimensional SG flow calculation using the ATHOS3 code. Modal analyses are performed for the finite element modelings of U-tubes to get the natural frequency, corresponding mode shape and participation factor. The wear rate of U-tube caused by foreign object is calculated using the Archard formula and the remaining life of the tube is predicted. Also, discussed in this study is the effect of the flow velocity and vibration of the tube on the remaining life of the tube.

Improved Metal Object Detection Circuits for Wireless Charging System of Electric Vehicles

  • As the supply of electric vehicles increases, research on wireless charging methods for convenience has been increasing. Because the electric vehicle wireless transmission device is installed on the ground and the electric vehicle battery is installed on the floor of the vehicle, the transmission and reception antennas are approximately 15-30 cm away, and thus strong magnetic fields are exposed during wireless charging. When a metallic foreign object is placed in the magnetic field area, an eddy current is induced to the metallic foreign object, and heat is generated, creating danger of fire and burns. Therefore, this study proposes a method to detect metallic foreign objects in the magnetic field area of a wireless electric vehicle charging system. An active detection-only coil array was used, and an LC resonance circuit was constructed for the frequency of the supply power signal. When a metallic foreign object is inserted into the charging zone, the characteristics of the resonance circuit are broken, and the magnitude and phase of the voltage signal at both ends of the capacitor are changed. It was confirmed that the proposed method has about 1.5 times more change than the method of comparing the voltage magnitude at one node.

항공기 배기후류가 FOD 발생에 미치는 영향 분석 (Analysis of the Influence of FOD by Aircraft Exhaust Wake)

  • The exhaust wake of an aircraft engine is discharged in a high temperature and high speed, which can damage objects such as an aircraft in the rear. The exhaust wake can lift small foreign substances lying on the ground or falling off, and the floating foreign substances can enter the intake duct of the aircraft moving from the rear and cause engine FOD (Foreign Object Damage). This study experimentally analyzed how the engine exhaust wake generated from military jet fighters affects the movement of foreign substances and evaluated the effects of foreign substances on the damaged area by measuring wake velocity. The simulation and field experimental results confirmed that the effect of exhaust wake increases as the rear position closer, and that foreign substances lifted by the wake can act as FOD to the adjacent rear aircraft.

  • 증기발생기 2차측(관판 상단 및 관 지지판)에 잔류하는 이물질은 전열관에 마모를 야기하여 누설을 발생시킬 가능성이 있으며, 마모는 전열관 재료의 부식 특성과는 별개로 이물질의 재료, 형태, 크기 등에 따라 큰 영향을 받는다. 관판 상단 및 관 지지판 부위의 이물질 여부는 원격육안검사(FOSAR) 방법과 와전류탐상검사(ECT)를 통해 확인하고 있다. 증기발생기 2차측의 잔류 이물질은 그 재질이나 전열관과의 접촉상태 등에 따라 검출하는데 제한성이 나타난다. 따라서, 본 연구에서는 다양한 형태와 재료의 이물질을 관판 상단에서 수직 및 수평한 방향으로 이동시켰을 때, 이물질에 대한 보빈신호의 검출 감도를 측정하기 위해 데이터를 수집하고 분석하였다.

  • RT-eCos3.0은 대표적 분산 실시간 객체 모델인 TMO(Time-triggered Message-triggered Object)의 실행을 제공하기 위하여 공개소스 eCos3.0 기반으로 개발된 초경량 경성 실시간 임베디드 운영체제이다. RT-eCos3.0에서는 분산 컴퓨팅 지원을 위하여 네트워크에 투명한 채널 기반 publisher/subscriber 모델의 멀티캐스트 분산 IPC를 지원하고 있다. 본 논문에서는 이와 같은 기존의 분산 IPC를 이용하여 보다 더 직관적인 분산 동기화 read/write 인터페이스를 제공하는 객체 기반의 분산 공유 메모리 시스템을 설계/구현하였다. 구현된 분산 공유 메모리는 각 로컬 노드의 캐시 객체의 사용으로 가능한 한 최소한의 네트워크 통신으로 동기화가 가능하도록 설계 구현되었다.

딥러닝 기반 활주로 청소 로봇 개발 (Development of Runway Cleaning Robot Based on Deep Learning)

  • This paper deals with the development of a deep-learning-based runway cleaning robot using an optical camera. A suitable model to realize real-time object detection was investigated, and the differences between the selected YOLOv3 and other deep learning models were analyzed. In order to check whether the proposed system is applicable to the actual runway, an experiment was conducted by making a prototype of the robot and a runway model. As a result, it was confirmed that the robot was well developed because the detection rate of FOD (Foreign Object Debris) and cracks was high, and the collection of foreign substances was carried out smoothly.

  • 유한요소해석을 이용하여 이물질이 고무 오링과 구조물에 미치는 영향과 성능을 연구했다. 오래전부터 2D 해석을 이용하여 초탄성 오링을 연구해왔다. 오링 설계 시, 접촉응력은 중요한 설계 요소이다. 접촉 응력이 가해진 압력보다 낮으면 누수, 진동, 소음, 출력 저하의 원인이 된다. 이 연구에서는 초탄성 오링을 2D와 3D로 해석하고 결과를 비교한다. 2D와 3D의 접촉 응력 결과는 거의 비슷하게 나타난다. 이물질이 있는 오링은 3D로 모델링해야하는데 모든 방향의 접촉 응력을 고려해야하기 때문이다. 3D 해석에서 간극을 달리하여 10가지 경우로 나누어 이물질이 오링과 구조물에 미치는 영향을 확인했다. 또한 접촉 응력이 가해진 압력보다 높은지 확인하였다. 따라서, 이물질이 포함된 오링은 3D 모델로 해석되어야하며 이러한 결과는 오링 설계에 포함된다.

  • Detecting of the object in image processing is substantial but it depends on the object itself and the environment. An object can be detected either by its shape or color. Color is an essential for pattern recognition and computer vision. It is an attractive feature because of its simplicity and its robustness to scale changes and to detect the positions of the object. Generally, color of an object depends on its characteristics of the perceiving eye and brain. Physically, objects can be said to have color because of the light leaving their surfaces. Here, we conducted experiment in the aquarium fish tank. Different color of fish robots are mimic the natural swim of fish. Unfortunately, in the underwater medium, the colors are modified by attenuation and difficult to identify the color for moving objects. We consider the fish motion as a moving object and coordinates are found at every instinct of the aquarium to detect the position of the fish robot using OpenCV color detection. In this paper, we proposed to identify the position of the fish robot by their color and use the position data to control the fish robot gathering in one point in the fish tank through serial communication using RF module. It was verified by the performance test of detecting the position of the fish robot.

고정형 이물질(FOD) 자동 탐지 시스템과 이동형 이물질 자동 탐지 시스템의 성능 비교 및 시험 (Performance Comparison and Test of Fixed FOD Automatic Detection System and Moving FOD Automatic Detection System)

  • FOD (foreign object debris)는 각종 금속 및 비금속 이물질 및 항공기 운항에 잠재적 위험요소를 가진 물질을 총칭한다. 항공기 이동지역에서 사람이 직접 FOD 탐지 및 수거를 하던 방식은 효율성 및 경제성 또한 매우 낮기 때문에 국내환경에 적합한 FOD 자동 탐지 시스템 개발이 필수적으로 요구된다. 본 논문에서는 한서대학교 태안비행장에서 EO/IR카메라 및 레이더를 이용한 고정형 이물질 자동 탐지 시스템과 이동형 이물질 자동 탐지 시스템을 이용하여 100 m이상 최적탐지시간과 90% 탐지 정확도의 복합운영을 위한 두 시스템의 성능비교 실험 결과이다. 지속적인 연구개발을 통하여 FOD를 무인력으로 수행 할 수 있을것으로 기대된다.
