  • This study aims to enhance Korea's competitiveness by taking the lead in the international standardization and relevant global market. This is to be achieved by performing the role of First Mover through the resolute investment from Fast Follower that is servile to the decision of the organization in the e-Navigation strategy that has been promoted by the IMO. The study methodology is an integrated approach. It is established by modelling LSCM G2B2C2 Platform in maritime safety/security logistics and applied to the enhancement of maritime safety/security in global LSCM. This paper externally contributes to the reduction of world maritime accidents and exalt the national prestige; internally, the enhancement of the national competitiveness through the improvement of shipping port logistics and others. These eventually contribute to Korea's economic development that is combined by both theory and practice and of practical use of the integrated approach.

  • The purpose of this current study is to examine CEO image presented in messages of CEO twitter and perceived by CEO twit followers. To conduct this study, we selected two CEOs, ChanJin Lee and HyeonMyeong Pyo who are top ranking based on a number of followers in Korea. We investigated each CEO's Tweet, RT, Reply, and RT+Reply using three CEO image factors: CEO personality, CEO quality, and CEO outward characteristics. Also, followers were asked what image mostly they have based on those three image factors. The results showed that for ChanJin Lee, CEO quality were more presented in twitter than CEO personality and CEO outward characteristics, and CEO Lee's followers also perceived that Lee has more CEO quality image than others. Pyo, HyeonMyeong has CEO quality image in twitter than others, and his followers thought that he had more CEO outward characteristics image than others.

  • Purpose: The purpose of this study was to identify the role adaptation process experienced by executive directors of nursing department of general hospitals. Methods: Data were collected from 9 executive nursing directors though in-depth interviews about their experiences. The main question was "How do you describe your experience of the process of role adaptation as an executive nursing director?" Qualitative data from field and transcribed notes were analyzed using Strauss & Corbin's grounded theory methodology. Results: The core category of experience of the process of role adaptation as an executive nursing director was identified as "entering the center with pushing and pulling". The participants used five interactional strategies; 'maintaining modest attitudes', 'inquiring about trends of popular feeling', 'making each person a faithful follower', 'collecting & displaying power', 'leading with initiative'. The consequences of role adaptation in executive nursing directors were 'coexisting with others', 'immersing in one's new role with dedication', and 'having capacity for high tolerance'. The types of role adaptations of executive directors in nursing department were friendly type, propulsive type, accommodating type. Conclusion: The results of this study produced useful information for executive nursing directors on designing a self-managerial program to enhance role adaptation based on interactional strategies.

  • The purpose of this study is to investigate the influence of golf participants' major hitting factors on their consumption behavior characteristics and golf consumption behavior. To achieve this objective, the study subjects were set as the population aged 20 years or older who use golf courses and driving ranges in Gwangju Metropolitan City and Jeollanam-do, and then 158 males and 172 females using cluster random sampling. A total of 300 persons were selected as the study subjects. The survey tool was the questionnaire method, and among the tools that had already been used to verify the reliability and validity of the questionnaire in domestic and foreign previous studies, it was reused or modified or supplemented according to the variables of this study. The collected data were winter-processed according to the purpose of analysis using the SPSS statistical program as follows. The results obtained through this process are as follows. First, it was found that the major players participating in golf had partial differences in the characteristics of golf consumption behavior. Second, it was found that the major hitters participating in golf had a partial difference in their golf consumption behavior. Third, it was found that the golf consumption behavior characteristics of golf participants partially affected the golf consumption behavior.

  • Credit option is a policy that has been studied by many researchers in the area of supply chain management. This policy has been applied in practice to improve the profits of supply chain members. Usually, a credit option policy is proposed by the seller, and often under a symmetric information environment where members have complete information on each others' operations. In this paper, we investigate two scenarios: firstly, the seller offers a credit option to the buyer, and secondly, the buyer attempts to stretch the length of the credit period offered by the seller. The proposed model in both scenarios will be investigated under an asymmetric information structure where some information are private and are only known to the individual who has knowledge of this information. The interactions between buyer and seller will be modeled by non-cooperative Stackelberg games where the buyer and seller take turn as leader and follower. Among some of the numerical results obtained, the seller and buyer's profits obtained from symmetric information games are larger than those obtained from an asymmetric information game in both scenarios. Furthermore, both buyer and seller's profit in the second scenario are better than in the first scenario.

  • Astronomical observation is the beginning of scientific attitudes in the history of mankind. According to Indian tradition, there existed 18 early astronomical texts (siddhantas) composed by Surya, Pitamaha and many others. Varahamihira compiled five astronomical texts in a book named panchasiddhantika, which is now the link between early and later siddhantas. Indian scholars had no practice of writing their own names in their works, so, it is very difficult to identify them. Aryabhata is the first name noticed, in the book Aryabhatiya. After this point most astronomers and astro-writers wrote their names in their works. In this paper I have tried to analyze the works of astronomers like Aryabhata, Varahamihira, Brahmagupta, Bhaskara I, Vateswara, Sripati and Bhaskaracharya in a modern context and to obtain an account of Indian astronomical knowledge. Aryabhata is the first Indian astronomer who stated that the rising and setting of the Sun, the Moon and other heavenly bodies was due to the relative motion of the Earth caused by the rotation of the Earth about its own axis. He also estabished the 'yuga' theory (one Mahayuga = 432000 years). Varahamihira compiled panchasiddhantika and wrote Brihatsamhita. Brahmagupta is the most distinguished astronomer known to us. His two major works are i) Brahmasphutasiddhanta and ii) Khandkhadaka. Bhaskara I was the follower of Aryabhata. His three known works are Mahabhaskariya, Laghubhaskariya and Aryabhatiyabhasya. Vateswara follows Aryapaksha and Saurapaksha. His master work is Vateswarasiddhanta. Sripati, in his siddhantasekhara, gives the rules for determining the Moon's second inequality. Bhaskara II wrote the most comprehensive astronomical work in Indian astronomy. The result of these works is the account of the Indian astronomical heritage. These works are written in the Sanskrit language. A very few of these manuscripts have been translated in English but many are yet to be done. So, it is necessary to translate these astronomical texts into English with proper commentary for modern scholars. This paper will be helpful in this work.

  • Many people use social network services as to communicate, to share an information and to build social relationships between others on the Internet. Twitter is such a representative service, where millions of tweets are posted a day and a huge amount of data collection has been being accumulated. Social mining that extracts the meaningful information from the massive data has been intensively studied. Typically, Twitter easily can deliver and retweet the contents using the following-follower relationships. Topic modeling in tweet data is a good tool for issue tracking in social media. To overcome the restrictions of short contents in tweets, we introduce a notion of reply graph which is constructed as a graph structure of which nodes correspond to users and of which edges correspond to existence of reply and retweet messages between the users. The LDA topic model, which is a typical method of topic modeling, is ineffective for short textual data. This paper introduces a topic modeling method that uses reply graph to reduce the number of short documents and to improve the quality of mining results. The proposed model uses the LDA model as the topic modeling framework for tweet issue tracking. Some experimental results of the proposed method are presented for a collection of Twitter data of 7 days.
