용담 신품종 '스카이호프(Skyhope)'는 청색 꽃을 가진 가진 Jinbu-1와 Jinbu-4호를 2000년에 교배하여 선발하였다. 화색은 진한 청색(VB 96A)으로 '횡계1호(VB96B)'보다 진했으며, 꽃잎에 반점이 없다. 꽃대 줄기는 자주색을 띠며 잎 모양은 피침형이다. 꽃은 밤에 반폐쇄형이고 위와 아래에서 거의 동시 개화하는 특성을 가지고 있다. 초장은 68.1 cm 정도이고, 화경수도 5.3개로 적었으며, 화단수와 화수는 각각 5.9개, 32.2개로 나타났다. 개화는 7월 상순부터 하순까지 하였으며, 전 지역에서 '횡계 1호'보다 15-20일 정도 빠르게 피었다.

'Maigic' 품종은 경남농업기술원 화훼연구소에서 복색 홑꽃인 'Artist Pink'를 모본, 복색 홑꽃인 'SP0347'을 부본으로 인공교배를 실시하여 2003년에서 2007년에 걸쳐서 파종과 계통선발을 통해 육성하였다. 품종의 특성검정은 2005년부터 2007년까지 봄 촉성재배와 가을 억제재배 조건아래서 3회에 걸쳐 조사하였다. 'Maigic' 품종의 자연개화기는 10월26일경이며, 일장조절에 의해 주년재배가 가능하다. 꽃 크기가 6.1 cm인 중륜화로 꽃 하나의 꽃잎수가 31.6개정도이고 착화수는 14개 정도이다. 화색은 복색(백색/자주색)이며, 녹색화심을 가졌다. 봄의 단일상태에서 'Maigic' 품종의 개화소요일수는 43일 정도로 개화가 빠르며, 가을의 절화수명은 20.6일로 나타났다.

경북농업기술원 구미화훼시험장에서 육성한 장미 'Loving Heart'는 수세가 강건하며 자홍색의 경교 R-6(♀)과 화형이 우수한 'Noblesse'(♂)를 2002년에 인공교배 한 후 계통선발 및 3차 특성검정을 거쳐 2007년에 최종선발하여 'Loving Heart'로 명명하였다. 'Loving Heart' 품종은 진분홍색 (RHS, Red-purple group 66-8)의 화형이 우수한 스탠다드 장미로 꽃직경은 10.3 cm, 꽃잎수는 55매, 절화수명은 12.3일정도이며 연간 절화수량이 127본/$m^2$으로 다수성이다. 특히, 절화품질이 우수하고 수세가 강건할 뿐 아니라 줄기가 곧게 자라고 줄기 윗부분에 가지가 없기 때문에 재배 및 취급이 용이하고 토양과 양액재배 모두 가능한 품종이다.

This study aims to collect Minhwa, or folk painting, particularly the Lotus Flower Painting, to analyze its formative characteristics and related story, and to develop cultural fashion products by utilizing Korean traditional culture and modern flavor based on the results. Lotus flowers grow from mud, but are unstained, and they bloom beautiful flowers. Thus, they symbolize Gunja, a true gentleman who is very learned and proper in behavior. In Buddhism, lotus flowers are divine flowers that have the meaning of the creation of life and the eternal cycle of birth, death and rebirth. Lotus flowers also represent the love between man and woman as well as conjugal harmony and love. Lotus flower painting includes the paintings of the lotus flower alone as well as the paintings of the lotus flower with ducks, white heron, kingfisher, fish, butterfly, crab, or tortoise. Colors that are mostly used in lotus flower paintings is the compatible combination of red and blue (green). Based on these findings, fashion products such as bag accessories, sitting cushions, and kitchen utensils are developed using various designs such as realistically drawn lotus flower, schematized lotus flower, the lotus flower alone, or the lotus flower with kingfisher, crab, or dragonfly, that emphasizing the compatible color combination of red and blue.

'Honey Girl' 품종을 개발하기 위하여 1995년도에 적색 설판이 있는 백색계열의 소형 심비디움 'Yakoto'을 모본으로 하고 착화성이 우수한 백색계 중대형종 'Marian Simplicity"를 부본으로 하여 교배를 실시하였다. 1996년부터 1999년까지 실생계통 57개체를 양성하면서 엽형, 화색, 화형이 우수한 개체를 선발하여 2000~2004년에 1, 2차 특성검정과 품평회 결과 생육 및 개화특성이 우수한 원교 'F1-13' 계통을 최종 선발하였다. 이 품종은 생육이 강건하고 화색이 선명하고 화형이 둥글고 꽃 폭이 약 7.7cm 정도로 크며 화경의 늘어짐이 적고 초세가 강하고 개화시기는 11월 하순에서 1월경이었다.

'White Princess'(화이트프린세스) 품종은 원예연구소에서 2005년도에 육성한 심비디움 품종이다. 이 품종을 개발하기 위하여 1995년도에 화색이 연한 자주색 계열의 심비디움 수집 유전자원 Cym. '2113'을 모본으로 착화성이 우수하고 꽃송이가 큰 연분홍색의 'Lucky Rainbow Randevious'를 부본으로 교배를 실시하였다. 1996년부터 1999년까지 실생계통 90개체를 양성하면서 엽형, 화색 및 화형이 우수한 개체를 선발하여 2000~2004년에 1,2차 특성검정과 품평회 결과 생육 및 개화특성이 우수한 '원교 F1-14' 계통을 최종 선발하였다. 생육이 강건하고 화색이 선명하고 화형이 둥글고 꽃 폭이 약 8cm 정도로 크며 개화시기가 12월에서 1월경이었다.

A freesia (Freesia hybrida Hort.) 'Dancing Flame' was developed for the cut flower in the National Institute of Horticultural Herbal Science in 2007. This hybrid was selected from a crossing between a seedling 'Vulcano' and 'Sailor', which is scarlet double flowering and purple single flowering, respectively, and 'Figaro' which is bright red color and semi-double flowering, in 2000. Morphological characteristics of the selected hybrid were investigated for 3 years from 2005 to 2007, and then it was named 'Dancing Flame'. 'Dancing Flame' had red color (RHS R44B) and single flower with yellow center color (RHS Y9A). The growth of the plant was vigorous and the average height was 93.3 cm. The average flower width was 60 mm, number of floret per stalk was 14.3, and stalk was 13.2 cm length. The average yield, 7.8 cuttings per plant, was 2.5 stems per plant more than the control cultivar. The average days to first flowering of 'Dancing Flame', 133 days, was approximately 5 days earlier than the control cultivar. And its average yield, 7.1 cormlet per plant, was also 2.5times more than the control cultivar.

Infection rate of Chrysanthemum stunt viroid (CSVd) in 64 commercial chrysanthemum cultivars cultivated in Korea ranged from 9.7 to 66.8$\%$. Symptoms on leaves of CSVd-infected chrysanthemum included yellow spots, chlorosis, vein clearing, vein bending and crumpling. CSVd induced flower malformation in 'Scot', color change in 'Sharotte', and color breaking in 'Sharon'. CSVd caused reduction of plant height, leaf size, flower size and the flowers number by $32-50\%,\;26-35\%$, $14-36\%\;and\;14-75\%$, respectively. In conclusion, CSVd affected plant height, leaf size and flower quality in chrysanthemum plants.

'Noble Wine' 품종은 경남농업기술원 화훼연구소에서 백색 홑꽃인 'SL03-01'을 모본, 복색 홑꽃인 'Artist Pink' 를 부본으로 인공교배를 실시하여 2003년에서 2007년에 걸쳐서 파종과 계통선발을 통해 육성하였다. 품종의 특성검정은 2005년부터 2007년까지 봄 촉성재배와 가을 억제재배 조건아래서 3회에 걸쳐 조사하였다. 'Noble Wine' 품종의 자연개화기는 10월26일경이며, 일장조절에 의해 주년재배가 가능하다. 꽃 크기가 5.4 cm인 소륜으로 꽃 하나의 꽃잎수가 21.6개정도이고 착화수도 28.5개로 많은 편이다. 화색은 복색(백색/적색)이며, 녹색화심을 가졌다. 봄의 단일상태에서 'Noble Wine' 품종의 개화소요일수는 45일 정도이며, 가을 절화수명은 21.3일로 나타났다.

'퓨어하트' 품종은 경기도농업기술원에서 2002년도에 육성한 절화용 장미 신품종이다. 이 품종은 1998년도에 화색이 분홍색이며 화형이 우수한 스탠다드 장미 'Saphir' 품종을 모본으로 하고 향기가 있는 백색 스탠다드 장미 'Crystal Line' 품종을 부본으로 하여 교배를 하였다. 1998년에 실생을 양성하여 화색과 화형이 우수한 25계통을 예비선발 하였으며 2000~2002년에 1, 2, 3차 특성검정과 품평회 결과 절화특성이 우수한 KR98-12-2(Gyeonggi R1-2)계통을 최종 선발하였다. 화색은 연한 분홍색이며 화폭은 6.8cm 화고는 4.5cm로서 중형 크기의 스탠다드 형태로 개화하고 화형은 반고심형이며 꽃잎수는 44.8매이고 향기 정도는 약한 편이다. 년간 절화수량은 122본/$m^2$이고 절화장은 66.0cm이며 줄기직경은 6.1mm이고 엽수는 11.0매이며 절화중은 25.6g이고 절화수명은 8.0일이다.
