제올라이트 종류별 수분 탈착특성 비교 (Comparison of Desorption Characteristics of Water Vapor on the Types of Zeolites)

  • The purpose of this work is to study the desorption characteristics of water vapor on zeolites saturated with water vapor. Three kinds of zeolite; zeolite 3A, zeolite 4A, and zeolite 5A were used as adsorbent. The desorption experiments with several different temperatures in the range of $90{\sim}150^{\circ}C$ and several different flow rates in the ranges of 0~0.4 L/min on zeolite bed were carried out. The desorption ability of water vapor was most effective on zeolite 5A among the compared zeolites. The higher the desorption temperature of water vapor was, the faster the desorption velocity was. The desorption ability of water vapor with an air supply was higher than that without an air supply. The most appropriate air flow rate was considered as 0.1 L/min.

  • Various thermostatic valves have been used widely in Korea for conservation of heating energy and enhancement of thermal comfort in residential buildings. But heating control performances of thermostatic valves extensively vary with the design and operational conditions of the heating system, climate condition and others. An experimental method was carried out in this study to analyze heating control characteristics by temperature sensing methods of thermostatic valves for various parameters, such as supply temperatures and flow rate of hot water, the position of room thermostats and outdoor air temperatures. As a result, the heat flow rate per day of S-Valve($34^{\circ}C$-Type) of water temperature sensing method was liked that of C-Valve of indoor air temperature sensing method with stage 3.3 of room thermostat in case supply temperature of hot water was $45^{\circ}C$, flow rate was 1.3 L/min and outdoor air temperature was $7.8^{\circ}C$.

  • This paper describes the fluttering characteristics of the upper pad in a tilting pad journal bearing(6-pad, LOP type) using a steam turbine. In order to investigate the phenomena of the upper pad fluttering experimentally, the absolute vibration of the upper pads, the relative vibration between bearing and shaft and the circumferential distribution of the film thickness are measured under the different values of supply oil flow rate, shaft speed and bearing load. It can be known that the fluttering mechanism of the upper pads has a tendency of the self-excited vibration from the study of fluttering frequencies and amplitudes with the change of shaft speed. Furthermore, it is observed that the incipient upper pad fluttering velocity is increased by the increase of oil supply flow rate and the fluttering amplitude of the upper pads is increased by the decrease of the ell flow rate and by the increase of the bearing load.

  • 본 논문은 연료전지 UAV를 위한 고체 상태의 $NaBH_4$ 수소 발생 및 공급 시스템의 특성에 대해 기술하고 있다. 산을 이용하여 $NaBH_4$를 분해할 경우, 발생된 수소의 유량과 압력은 급격히 변화하게 된다. 공급 수소는 자체 가압식 반응기로 안정화 되었고, 수소의 안정화 방법에 대해 소개하였다. 영하조건에서 수소를 발생시키기 위해 묽은 염산을 프로필렌 글리콜 혼합 용액으로 희석하였다. 고체 상태 $NaBH_4$ 수소 발생 및 공급 시스템을 설계하였다. 수소 발생 시스템의 특성을 밝혀내기 위한 기본 구동 실험을 수행하였다.

  • The PWM(Pulse Width Modulated) converter for the AC to DC rectification has become attractive in the industrial variable-speed drive application and the electric utilities due to the following benefits: Nearly the sinusoidal input current with unity power factor; Controllable DC link voltage; Bidirectional power flow. This paper presents a quantitative analysis of single and three phase PWM converter's input and output characteristics as a function of the input filter inductance under balanced and unbalanced conditions. Also, its performance under the supply voltage including harmonics is investigated by simulation with Matlab Simlulink and experiments. These results provide a reference for selecting the reasonable converter's input filter inductance for given harmonics or power factor criterion.

전철 급전계통의 EMTDC 모델개발 (Development of EMTDC Model for Electrified Railroad Supply System)

  • This paper presents the first Simulation model using EMTDC program to analyze the electrified train voltage distribution characteristics in ac auto-transformer 1110 railroads. In general, all of the electrified train supply system has the characteristics that the train supply line is a naturally non-symmetrical and unbalanced system. Also, it is needed to model the Scott transformer which invert the balanced 3-phase quantity into 2-phase. Therefore, the general simulation methodology using previous simplified equivalent circuit or RMS based program can't obtain the accurate results to reflect the real-time operation because these methodology is basically assumed on completely 3-phase balanced system. To overcome these defects, in this paper, the EMTDC simulation model to analysis the completely electrified railroad system with Scott transformer and AC auto-transformer is presented. Also, the correctness of EMTDC modeling is confirmed by the old basic concepts and we think that this EMTDC model has the future powerful capability for application of railroad system analysis.

Effect of Supply and Return Locations of a Floor-Supply Cooling System on Thermal Comfort

  • This study numerically investigates thermal comfort of a space cooled by a floor-supply air-conditioning system, in which three different combinations of supply and return locations, one floor-supply/ceiling-return and two floor-supply/floor-return, are treated. A complementary experiment is performed to validate the present numerical analysis, and the prediction agrees favorably with the measured data. In the numerical procedure, a simplified model mimicking the inlet flow through a diffuser is developed for efficient simulations. The calculated results show that the ceiling-return type is far better in terms of thermal comfort than the floor-return ones within the extent of this study, which seems to be caused by effective vertical penetration of the supply air against natural convection. It is also revealed that the arrangement of port locations in the floor-supply/floor-return system has insignificant effect on the cooling performance. For selecting a proper system, other characteristics including the heating performance should be accounted for simultaneously with the present considerations.

  • Regenerative evaporative cooling is known as an environment-friendly and energy efficient cooling method. A regenerative evaporative cooler (REC) consisting of dry and wet channels is able to cool down the air stream below the inlet wet-bulb temperature. In the regenerative evaporative cooler, the cooling effect is achieved by redirecting a portion of the air flown out of the dry channel into the wet channel and spraying water onto the redirected air. In this study, a horizontal regenerative cooler is considered. In the horizontal regenerative cooler, the flow direction of evaporating water has a right angle to the flow direction of supply air. This difference was investigated with visualization technique and simplified 2-module performance test was done in a thermo-environment chamber. Optimum design configuration is changed due to the wet channel which are easily fully covered with evaporating water and block the air flow inside the channel. Applying the optimized fin configuration design with the highly wetting surface treatment, a regenerative evaporative cooler was fabricated and tested to Identify the cooling performance improvement and operation characteristics. From the experimental results at the intake condition of $32^{\circ}C$ and 50% RH, the supply temperature was measured to be around $23.4^{\circ}C$. The cooling effectiveness based on the inlet dewpoint temperature was evaluated 73% which is almost close to the design expectation.

  • 발사체 관련 가스공급은 타 분야 가스공급과는 달리 대유량의 가스공급이 요구되며, 가스공급시 공급압력이 감소하여, 유량을 공급하는 동안 요구되는 압력을 만족시키지 못하는 현상이 흔히 발생한다. 공급압력 감소는 레귤레이터의 특성과 밀접하게 연관되어 있다. 본 논문에서는 공압 레귤레이터를 2차측 압력을 일정하게 유지시키는 일종의 제어계로 간주하여 공압 레귤레이터의 공급압력 강하 제어방법을 고찰하였다. 직동식 레귤레이터는 유량공급시 정적 평형 오차가 수반되며, 오차의 분석은 압력오차에 대한 밸브 이동거리의 비로서 정의되는 민감도로서 해석될 수 있음을 제시하였다. 직동식 레귤레이터의 오차는 비례식 및 적산식 제어계의 개념을 도입한 파이롯 레귤레이터의 도입을 통하여 개선될 수 있음을 보였다.
