소규모 사이펀 차단기에 대한 실험적 연구 (Experimental investigation on small scale siphon breaker)

  • 본 연구는 Siphon Breaker Simulation Program(SBSP)을 이용하여 소규모 사이펀 차단기 실험장치를 설계 및 제작하고, 실험 수행 후 그 결과를 이용하여 다양한 규모의 사이펀 차단기에 대한 SBSP의 적용 가능성을 평가하기 위해 진행되었다. 실험장치 설계를 위하여 C factor와 Chisholm B 계수, Undershooting Height(UH)에 대한 시뮬레이션 결과값을 SBSP로 도출하였다. 실험장치의 중요파트는 upper tank, lower tank, downcomer, Siphon Breaker Line(SBL) 등이며, upper tank는 넓이 $0.09-m^2$, 높이 0.65-m의 크기로 제작되었고, downcomer 높이는 1.6-m로 제작되었다. 실험결과 분석을 위하여 압력계, 차압계, 전자저울이 사용되어 압력과 차압, 유량에 대한 정보를 도출하였다. 실험에서 사용된 실험변수는 Loss Of Coolant Accident(LOCA) 크기와 SBL 크기이며, LOCA는 30-mm와 38-mm에 대해서, SBL은 6/16-inch와 8/16-inch에 대해서 실험이 진행되었다. 실험의 결과로 유량과 압력, 그리고 UH를 도출하였으며, 실험결과를 SBSP의 시뮬레이션 결과와 비교, 분석하였다. UH 측면에서 SBSP가 수조의 총 높이 대비 2.5 %의 오차로 실험결과를 잘 예측하는 것을 관찰하였다. 그러므로 SBSP를 이용한 다양한 규모의 사이펀 차단기 설계가 가능한 것을 확인하였다.

ROADMOD를 이용한 도로청소 및 모래여과시설에 의한 고속도로에서의 강우시 TSS 저감효과 분석 (Removal Efficiency of TSS Loadings from Expressway by Road Sweeping and Sand Filter Facility Using ROADMOD)

  • In this study, the removal efficiency of road sweeping and sand filter facility for removing total suspended solid (TSS) as nonpoint source pollution from expressway was evaluated for the last 10 years (2012~2021) using ROADMOD. ROADMOD is a screening level model and was calibrated for runoff rate and TSS loading both at the inlet, which is the loading from the drainage area, and the outlet, from the sand filter facility. The drainage area is 715 m2 and the dimensions of sand filter facility are 1.5 m (wide) × 3.8 m (length) × 1.5 m (depth). The monitoring period for model calibration was the rainfall event during Aug. 31~Sep. 1, 2021 and the amount of rainfall was 74.5 mm. As a result of calibration, the determination coefficients (R2) of the flow rate were 0.66 and 0.86, for the inlet and outlet, respectively, and those of TSS loading were 0.50 and 0.84, for the inlet and outlet, respectively. Considering that ROADMOD is a screening level model, the calibration results were reasonable to evaluate the best management practices (BMPs) on the expressway. Using ROADMOD simulation results for 2012~2021, the average yearly runoff rate from the expressway was 82% and removal efficiency was 9% for road sweeping, 35% for sand filter facility, and 39% for both road sweeping and sand filter facility.

  • An electrostatic precipitator (ESP) is an industrial post processing facility for high efficiency dust mitigation. Uniformity of the flow passing through the inlet duct leading into the main chamber is important for efficient reduction of dust. To examine flow uniformity, this study conducted a numerical analysis of the flow within a scale-down ESP inlet duct. Magnetic resonance velocimetry (MRV) results from a prior study were utilized to validate the Reynolds-averaged Navier-Stokes (RANS) numerical simulations. Both the experimental and computational results displayed a similar recirculation zone shape and normalized velocity profile near the duct outlet for the baseline geometry. To optimize the uniformity of the flow, the number of guide vanes was modified, and the guide vanes were partially extended straight upward. Design evaluation is done based on the outlet velocity distribution and mass flowrate balance between the two outlets. Simulation results indicate that the vane extension is critical for flow optimization in curved ESP ducts.

  • This paper presents the properly method of system security and facility countermeasures. We performed simulation for yearly peak of Korean power system in 2002 under the reactive power problem in a nuclear power plants. Analysis of the problems in power system operation by power flow, fault and stability study. Establishment of power system optimal operating plan by stabilizer and maintaining the reasonable voltage level.

종합병원 저층부에서의 이용자 이동에 따른 가시성과 피난 시간의 상관관계 분석 모델에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Relationship Analysis Model between Visibility and Evacuation Time by User's Movement in the Lower Floor of General Hospital)

  • The purpose of this study was to present an analysis model for finding the correlation between visibility and evacuation time as users move in the outpatient department of the general hospital. The spatial scope of the study was limited to the first floor and second floor which are used for the outpatient department. Traffic density in outpatient departments was surveyed on site. Based on the surveyed traffic density, the evacuation simulation model was established for calculating the escape route and evacuation time for an individual user. The traffic density of the outpatient department as per the evacuation time was also calculated. With using evacuation simulations, the flow of evacuees was calculated through the density of traffic over the time of evacuation. Visibility data were set in the simulation model for users' escape routes. A correlation analysis between the product of evacuation flow measure and visibility measure of the evacuation population and evacuation time was performed. The analysis result showed negative correlation within a specific distance range. This study presented an analysis model showing that the evacuation condition considering spatial visibility in the outpatient department of general hospital visibility was negatively related to the analyzed evacuation time at the design stage.

  • 베어링/실 시험설비 (BST)는 다양한 매체 (물, 액체질소, 액체산소)에서 액체로켓 엔진의 터보펌프를 위한 베어링과 실을 시험하기 위한 장비이다. 베어링 성능특성 시험은 베어링을 통과하는 냉각 유량과 축 방향 및 반경방향의 하중을 모사하여 시험이 수행된다. 실 시험의 목적은 실을 통과하는 누수량과 시간에 따른 누수량의 변화를 결정하기 위함이다.

  • 초음속 비행체 개발의 필요성이 증가됨에 따라 저고도에서부터 고고도까지 다양한 고공환경을 비행하는 비행체의 공력특성 데이터 확보가 요구되고 있다. 기존의 건국대학교 불어내기식 초음속 풍동(MAF)의 유동가열장치를 개선하여 고고도/실기체 환경 모사가 가능하도록 장비를 구축하였다. 본 장비를 활용하여 유도무기체계 및 초음속 비행체 선두부에 발생하는 유동과 그에 따른 온도 분포 및 속도 분포에 관하여 연구할 예정에 있다.

  • Steady and unsteady numerical simulations are conducted for the experiments performed to investigate the ram accelerator flow field by using the expansion tube facility in Stanford University. Navier-Stokes equations for chemically reacting flows are analyzed by fully implicit and time accurate numerical methods with Jachimowski's detailed chemistry model for hydrogen-air combustion involving 9 species and 19 reaction steps. Although the steady state assumption shows a good agreement with the experimental schlieren and OH PLIF images for the case of $2H_2$+$O_2$+$17N_2$, it fails in reproducing the combustion region behind the shock intersection point shown in the case of $2H_2$+$O_2$+$12N_2$, mixture. Therefore, an unsteady numerical simulation is conducted for this case and the result shows all the detailed flow stabilization process. The experimental result is revealed to be an instantaneous result during the flow stabilization process. The combustion behind the shock intersection point is the result of a normal detonation formed by the intersection of strong oblique shocks that exist at early stage of the stabilization process. At final stage, the combustion region behind the shock intersection point disappears and the steady state result is retained. The time required for stabilization of the reacting flow in the model ram accelerator is found to be very long in comparison with the experimental test time.

On the Safety and Performance Demonstration Tests of Prototype Gen-IV Sodium-Cooled Fast Reactor and Validation and Verification of Computational Codes

  • The design of Prototype Gen-IV Sodium-Cooled Fast Reactor (PGSFR) has been developed and the validation and verification (V&V) activities to demonstrate the system performance and safety are in progress. In this paper, the current status of test activities is described briefly and significant results are discussed. The large-scale sodium thermal-hydraulic test program, Sodium Test Loop for Safety Simulation and Assessment-1 (STELLA-1), produced satisfactory results, which were used for the computer codes V&V, and the performance test results of the model pump in sodiumshowed good agreement with those in water. The second phase of the STELLA program with the integral effect tests facility, STELLA-2, is in the detailed design stage of the design process. The sodium thermal-hydraulic experiment loop for finned-tube sodium-to-air heat exchanger performance test, the intermediate heat exchanger test facility, and the test facility for the reactor flow distribution are underway. Flow characteristics test in subchannels of a wire-wrapped rod bundle has been carried out for safety analysis in the core and the dynamic characteristic test of upper internal structure has been performed for the seismic analysis model for the PGSFR. The performance tests for control rod assemblies (CRAs) have been conducted for control rod drive mechanism driving parts and drop tests of the CRA under scram condition were performed. Finally, three types of inspection sensors under development for the safe operation of the PGSFR were explained with significant results.

75톤급 추진기관 시험설비 화염유도로 냉각해석에 관한 수치적 연구 (A Computational Study on Cooling Analysis of the Flame Deflector for the 75 tonf Class Propulsion Test Facility)

  • 본 연구에서는 75톤급 추진기관 시험설비 화염유도로 설계안에 대한 열적 안전성 및 연소가스의 안전한 배출을 평가하기 위하여 3차원 화염냉각해석을 수행하였다. 화염과 냉각수 간의 열전달 및 상변화 과정을 모사하기 위하여 Mixture 다상모델을 적용하였으며, 단일 화학종 비반응 플룸모델을 이용한 화염냉각해석을 수행하였다. 본 해석결과를 통하여 냉각수 유량에 따른 화염유도로 벽면에서의 최고 온도값을 예측하였으며, 또한 콘크리트 내화온도에 해당하는 최소 냉각수 유량을 도출하였다.
