사출금형의 냉각채널 성능 평가 (PERFORMANCE EVALUATION OF COOLING CHANNELS IN A PLASTIC INJECTION MOLD MODEL)

  • Design of the cooling channels of a plastic injection mold affects the quality and the productivity of the injection processes. In the injection process, the melted resin with high temperature enters the mold cavity, and just after the cavity is filled the heat should be dissipated through the cooling channels simultaneously. The purpose of this study is to analyse the heat transfer phenomenon and to estimate the temperature distribution in the mold to evaluate the cooling effect of the channels. The injection mold is assumed to have cooling channels of circular cross section and each channel has the same coolant flow rate. and The cavity has a rectangular shape. The results show that as the cooling channels get closer to the cavity surface, the cooling efficiency increases as might easily be guessed. However, due to the final hot resin flow from the gate an intensive cooling is required in that region.

클린 디젤엔진용 워터펌프 유동해석 (Flow Analysis of Water Pump for Clean Disel Engine Application)

  • Pressure distribution around rotating impeller blades in centrifugal pump has been main issue for design of efficient and high performance automotive water pump. In addition, pressure losses of inlet water pipes should be considered to reduce additional pressure drop and design high performance engine cooling system. In this paper, pressure distribution inside water pump and pressure drop between inlet and outlet of water pump are investigated numerically to design plastic water pump for clean diesel engine application. And the inlet geometry of water pump was considered to analysis the effect of inlet water pipe geometry on pressure distribution around impeller blades and outlet pressure. The prediction results are compared with experimental data to validate and determine optimal operation condition without water pump cavitation. Major design parameters such as blade angle, volute geometry, system pressure, and coolant flow rate are considered to confirm applying possibility of plastic blades to the clean diesel engine.

  • 추진기관 노즐은 고온 고압의 연소가스를 화학에너지에서 운동에너지로 변환시켜 추력을 발생시킨다. 따라서 노즐 내부 벽면은 고온 고압의 연소가스에 노출되며, 특히 노즐 목에서는 최대 열하중을 받는 구간으로서 열구조적으로 안정성을 확보한 냉각 시스템 설계가 이루어져야 한다. 본 추진기관의 노즐은 수냉 방식으로서 열전달 효율을 높이기 위해 냉각 채널 구조로 되어 있다. 본 연구에서는 추진기관 노즐을 위한 냉각 채널 구조의 설계형상에 대해 개념 설계 및 유동 해석을 수행하고 공급압력 및 유량 변화에 따른 입/출구 사이의 압력 강하량을 예측하였다. 또한 압력 손실 및 설계 유량 공급을 위한 압력 조건에 대해서도 평가하였다.

  • A novel design process of a parallel multi-flow type air-cooled condenser of a dual-loop waste heat recovery system with Rankine steam cycles for improving the fuel efficiency of gasoline automobiles has been investigated focusing on reduction of the pressure drop inside the micro-tubes. The low temperature condenser plays a role to dissipate heat from the system by condensing the low temperature loop working fluid sufficiently. However, the refrigerant has low evaporation temperature enough to recover the waste from engine coolant of about $100^{\circ}C$ but has small saturation enthalpy so that excessive mass flow rate of the LT working fluid, e.g., over 150 g/s, causes enormously large pressure drop of the working fluid to maintain the heat dissipation performance of more than 20 kW. This paper has dealt with the scheme to design the low temperature condenser that has reduced pressure drop while ensuring the required thermal performance. The number of pass, the arrangement of the tubes of each pass, and the positions of the inlet and outlet ports on the header are most critical parameters affecting the flow uniformity through all the tubes of the condenser. For the purpose of the performance predictions and the parametric study for the LT condenser, we have developed a 1-dimensional user-friendly performance prediction program that calculates feasibly the phase change of the working fluid in the tubes. An example is presented through the proposed design process and compared with an experiment.

냉각체 회전법에 의한 고순도 알루미늄 및 규소의 응고 및 정련에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Solidification and Purification of High Purity Aluminium and Silicon by Stirring Method)

  • The Purification mechanism of high purity aluminum was studied through the variation of stirring speed and coolant flow rate in the stirring method. In the stirring method the degree of purification was changed as the following factors;the variation of diffusion boundary layer thickness the variation of growth rate and the solute concentration of the residual melt. The concentration of Fe and Si was decreased as the stirring speed and the radial distance increased. In a high stirring speed of 2000rpm with unidirectional stirring mode, the uniformity of solutes was obtained. On the other hand, the purification of Si was done by the combinations of stirring method, fractional melting and acid leaching. In the case of Si purification, the centrifugal force developed in the melt acted as the significant purification factor. It was possible to obtain the purified 3N grade Si crystal after the complete elimination of residual aluminum by fractional melting and acid leaching.

  • This work deals with a controlled auto-ignition (CAI) single cylinder gasoline engine, focusing on the extension of operating conditions. The fuel is injected indirectly into electrically heated inlet air flow. In order to keep a homogeneous air-fuel mixing, the fuel injector is water-cooled by a specially designed coolant passage. Investigated are the engine performance and emission characteristics under the wide range of operating conditions such as 32 to 63 in the air-fuel ratio, 1000 to 1800 rpm in the engine speed, and 150 to 18$0^{\circ}C$ in the inlet air temperature. The compression ignition gasoline engine can be achieved that the ultra lean-burn with self-ignition of gasoline fuel by heating inlet air. For example. the allowable lean limit of air-fuel ratio is extended until 63 at engine speed of 1000 rpm and inlet air temperature of 17$0^{\circ}C$. It can be achieved that the emission concentrations of carbon monoxide, hydrocarbons and nitrogen oxide had been significantly reduced by CAI combustion compared with conventional spark ignition engine.

신경망 2-자유도 PID제어기를 이용한 원자력 발전소용 증기 발생기 수위제어 (The level control of steam generator in nuclear power plant by neural network 2-DOF PID controller)

  • When we control the level of the steam generator in the nuclear power plants, a swell and shrink arises from many disturbances such as feed water rate, feed water temperature, main steam flow rate, and coolant temperature. If we use the conventional type of PI controller in this system, we will not have stability during controlling at lower power, the removal function of disturbances, and a load follow-up control effectively. In this paper, we study the application of a 2-Degree of Freedom(2-DOF) PID controller to the level control of the steam. generator of nuclear power plants through the simulation and the experimental steam generator. We use the parameters $\alpha$, $\beta$, $\gamma$ of the 2-DOF PID controller for the removal of disturbances and the parameters Kp,Ti,Td of the conventional type of PID controller for controlling setpoint. The back-propagation learning algorithm of neural network is used for tuning the 2-DOF PID controller. We can find satisfactory results of the removal of the disturbances and the tracking function in the change of setpoint through the simulation and experimental steam generator.

  • 원자로 정지시 냉각제 계통내 탈염 공정의 최적운전에 도움을 줄 목적으로 Amberite IRN 77 양이온 교환수지상에서 Ni(II), Co(II) 및 Ag(I) 이온의 흡착특성을 연구하였다. 양이온 교환수지상에서 Ni(II), Co(II) 및 Ag(I) 이온 각각의 흡착 메카니즘은 Langmuir isotherm에 잘 일치하였다. 양이온교환수지의 형태에 따른 영향으로서 $H^+$-형의 수지의 흡착 및 처리 용량은 $Li^+$-형의 수지보다 우수하였다. 다성분계의 용액을 위한 연속식 이온교환공정에서 양이온교환수지의 흡착선택성은 Ni(II)${\approx}$Co(II)>Ag(I)였으며, 유속의 증가는 수지의 처리용량 뿐만 아니라 파과곡선의 기울기를 감소시켰다.
