가공송전선의 송전용량을 증가시키기 위한 동적송전용량 시스템의 설계 (A Design for Dynamic Line Rating System to increase Overhead Transmission Line Capacities)

  • Dynamic Line Rating (DLR) techniques have been greatly worthy of notice for efficiently increasing transmission capacity as well as controlling load-flow in overhead transmission lines, in comparison with the existing power system operating with Static Line Rating (SLR). This paper describes an utilization method to implement DLR control system for old transmission lines built in the first stage using the ground clearance design standard with lower dips. The suggested DLR system is focused on designing as temperature control system rather than current/load control system. Based on several performance for conductor temperatures, it is shown that DLR system with efficiency can be implemented.

  • Many mid-sized companies in Korean automotive industry have attempted to solve the lack of human power, to control the quality of components, to improve the production rate, and to innovate the manufacturing line. The goals of this study are to analyze the production rate of an automotive component manufacturing line using simulation software, to construct a Flexible Automation Subassembly (FAS) system and to suggest an optimized layout design using FAS line. In this research, the simulation model for manufacturing line was developed and used the realistic data of a medium sized company in Korean automotive industry. To complete this research, a simulation software 'ARENA' was used. This research analyzed the work distribution strategy and cycle time element for production flow and proposed an optimized layout to resolve line balancing problem which would bring the improved production rate.

Relationship between Apparent Viscosity and Line-Spread Test Measurement of Thickened Fruit Juices Prepared with a Xanthan Gum-based Thickener

  • The flow behaviors of three thickened fruit juices (orange, apple, and grape juice) prepared with a commercial instant xanthan gum (XG)-based thickener that is marketed in Korea were investigated at different thickener concentrations (1.0%, 1.5%, 2.0%, 2.5%, 3.0%, and 3.5%) and setting times (5 and 30 min) using a rheometer and a line-spread measurement method. The flow distance values measured by the line-spread test (LST) were compared with the apparent viscosity (${\eta}_{a,50}$) values measured with a sophisticated computer-controlled rheometer. The ${\eta}_{a,50}$ values of the juices increased as thickener concentration increased, whereas their flow distances decreased. The ${\eta}_{a,50}$ values at the 30-min setting time were much higher than those at the 5-min setting time, indicating that the setting time before serving or consuming thickened juices can affect viscosity values. Plots comparing ${\eta}_{a,50}$ values to LST flow distances revealed strong exponential relationships between the two measures ($R^2$=0.989 and $R^2$=0.987 for the 5- and 30-min setting times, respectively). These results indicate that the LST can be a suitable instrument for evaluating the viscosity of thickened fruit juices prepared with different XG-based thickener concentrations and setting times for the dysphagia diet.

광 흐름과 학습에 의한 영상 내 사람의 검지 (Human Detection in Images Using Optical Flow and Learning)

  • Human detection is an important aspect in many video-based sensing and monitoring systems. Studies have been actively conducted for the automatic detection of humans in camera images, and various methods have been proposed. However, there are still problems in terms of performance and computational cost. In this paper, we describe a method for efficient human detection in the field of view of a camera, which may be static or moving, through multiple processing steps. A detection line is designated at the position where a human appears first in a sensing area, and only the one-dimensional gray pixel values of the line are monitored. If any noticeable change occurs in the detection line, corner detection and optical flow computation are performed in the vicinity of the detection line to confirm the change. When significant changes are observed in the corner numbers and optical flow vectors, the final determination of human presence in the monitoring area is performed using the Histograms of Oriented Gradients method and a Support Vector Machine. The proposed method requires processing only specific small areas of two consecutive gray images. Furthermore, this method enables operation not only in a static condition with a fixed camera, but also in a dynamic condition such as an operation using a camera attached to a moving vehicle.

Analysis on the performance and internal flow of a tubular type hydro turbine for vessel cooling system

  • The temperature of the main engine cabin of commercial vessel is very high. The material SS-316L undergoes creep damage at temperatures exceeding $450^{\circ}C$. It is essential to maintain the highly stressed engine cabin below the creep regime. Hence, seawater is employed in this kind of maritime vehicles as cooling liquid. It obtains the thermal energy at the cooling pipe line after passing through main engine cooling system. To harness the energy in the seawater, a turbine can be installed to absorb the energy in the seawater before being released into the sea. In this study, a cooling pipe line is selected to apply the tubular type hydro turbine for transferring the energy. Numerical analysis for investigating the performance and the internal flow characteristics of the tubular turbine is conducted. The results show that the maximum efficiency of 85.8% is achieved although the efficiency drops rapidly at partial flow rate condition. The efficiency descends slowly at the condition of excess flow rate. There is a relatively wide operating range of flow rate of this turbine to keep high efficiency at the excess flow rate condition. For the internal flow of the turbine, there is uniform streamline on the suction and pressure sides of the blade at the design point. However, the secondary flow appears at the suction and pressure sidesat the excess flow rate.In addition, it appears only at pressure side at the partial flow rate condition.

  • 글루코스와 초산을 온라인 모니터링 하기위한 흐름주입분석기 술이 개발되었고 대장균발효공정에 이용되었다. 또한, Epoxy 고 분자 담체에 고정화된 GOD와 SOD 를 이용한 GOD-FIA와 SOD-FlA의 특성을 연구했다. 즉, FIA 의 조작온도, 운반용액 속의 첨 가제 (Triton, EDTA, natrium azid 등), 분석 시 료에 용 해된 신진대사물의 농도, pH, 초산측정시 사코진 농도 등에 따 라 고정화된 GOD와 SOD의 활성도, 즉 검출신호의 높이변화를 고찰했다. 최소배양액 과 복합배양액을 사용한 대장균 발효공정 에서 달루코스와 초산을 동시에 온라인 모니터링 하였으며 그결 과는 오프라인 분석결과와 잘 일치 하였다,

히트파이프 히트싱크에서 평판 휜-관으로 구성된 공기유동 냉각채널의 대류 열전달 특성에 관한 수치해석 (A Numerical Analysis of Convective Heat Transfer in Air Flow Channels of a Plate Fin-tube Matrix for Heat Pipe Heat Sinks)

  • A study on convective cooling characteristics has been done in the channels with heat pipes and associated Plane fins Analysis with FLUENT V5.0 lies its Purpose on the possible enhancement of heat transfer capability between an existing three in-line arrayed heatpipes and an extending four in-line arrayed heatpipes with increasing channel width. Numerical analysis is limited to the laminar flow in an isolated flow channel by employing cyclic boundary conditions for calculation purposes. Friction factors for three and four in-line arrayed heatpipes are compared with experimental results. In addition, temperature behavior at the plate fin for the three in-line arrayed heatpipes is compared with experiment. Friction factors and overall channel heat transfer coefficients (and/or Nusselt numbers) are presented as a function of Reynolds number. An increase of number of heatpipes and channel width reults in a decrease of the friction factor and doesn't not result in an increase of heat transfer performance. However. considering the 25$\%$ increase of heat load accompanies with maximum 8$^{\circ}C$ rise of average temperature of heat pipes, the four in-line array with the increase of channel width of heat pipe heat sink can be considered appropriate.

터빈유량계의 3차원 유동에 관한 수치적 연구 (Numerical Study of Three-dimensional Flow Through a Turbine Flow Meter)

  • Flow through a turbine flow meter is simulated by solving the incompressible Navier-Stokes equations. The solution method is based on the pseudo-compressibility approach and uses an implicit-upwind differencing scheme together with the Gauss-Seidel line relaxation method. The equations are solved steadily in rotating reference frames, and the centrifugal force and the Coriolis force are added to the equation of motion. The standard $k-{\epsilon}$model is employed to evaluate turbulent viscosity. Computational results yield quantitative as well as qualitative information on the design of turbine flow meters by showing the distributions of pressure and velocity around the turbine blades.

  • Saltation occurs in horizontal flow of solid and gas when the carrier gas velocity is small enough to permit enough to settling of the solid particles within the transport line. So we should examine the pneumatic flow system to lessen the unbured carbon in the power plant. In this paper the saltation velocity was studied on the various solid flow rate in the constant pipe diameter and on the various temperatures of the flow gas. The air velocity in the power plant transport lines was also surveyed in order to compare with the saltation velocity. As the solid flow rate increased in the constant diameter, saltation velocity increased and as the temperater of the flow gas inereased in the transport line, saltation velocity also increased.

The standard $k-{\varepsilon}$ model is employed to evaluate turbulent viscosity. At first the stability and accuracy of the program is verified with the flow through a square duct with a $90^{\circ}$ bend and on the flat plate.
