다단 임팩터(MOUDI)의 조대 입자 채취 특성 (Collection Characteristics of a MOUDI Cascade Impactor for Coarse Particles)

  • Particle collection characteristics of the MOUDI cascade impactor has been studied for coarse particles in the range of 2 to 20$mu extrm{m}$ in aerodynamic diameter. A vibrating orifice aerosol generator was empolyed to generate monodisperse test aerosols. The oleic acid and sodium chloride(NaCl) particles were used as test aerosols. Aluminum foil and Teflon filter were selected as impaction media. The sampling flow rate was changed from 25 to 35L/min. Particle collection efficiency for single stage was examined for liquid particles. The stage response was obtained experimentally for the cascade impactor composed of three stages and a backup filter. The results showed that most of particle collection efficiencies measured in this work are similar to the efficiency curves obtained by Marple et al.(1991). For particles less than cut-off size of the stage, the collection efficiencies of solid particles are similar to those of loquid particles. However, the collection efficiency of solid particles decreases with mereasing particle diameter for the particles greater than the actual cut-off size of the impactor. The particle collection efficiency increases with increasing sampling flow rate at the same particel size. However, the collection efficiency curves seem not to be greatly shifted with the flow rate. The stage responses obtained by direct measurements in this work are in good agreement with those derived from the collection efficiency curves for single stage.

다공성 매체 내 비혼성 대체 과정에서 주입 유량이 거동 양상에 미치는 영향 (The Effect of Flow Rate on the Process of Immiscible Displacement in Porous Media)

  • A series of experiments using transparent micromodels with an artificial pore network etched on glass plates was performed to investigate the effects of flow rate on the migration and distribution of resident wetting porewater (deionized water) and injecting non-wetting fluid (n-hexane). Multicolored images transformed from real RGB images were used to distinguish n-hexane from porewater and pore structure. Hexane flooding followed by immiscible displacement with porewater, migration through capillary fingering, preferential flow and bypassing were observed during injection experiments. The areal displacement efficiency increases as the injection of n-hexane continues until the equilibrium reaches. Experimental results showed that the areal displacement efficiency at equilibrium increases as the flow rate increases. Close observation reveals that preferential flowpaths through larger pore bodies and throats and clusters of entrapped porewater were frequently created at lower flow rate. At higher flow rate, randomly oriented forward and lateral flowpaths of n-hexane displaces more porewater at an efficiency close to stable displacement. It may resulted from that the pore pressure of n-hexane, at higher flow rate, increases fast enough to overcome capillary pressure acting on smaller pore throats as well larger ones. Experimental results in this study may provide fundamental information on migration and distribution of immiscible fluids in subsurface porous media.

이류체 노즐을 이용한 FPD 세정시스템 및 공정 개발 (Optimization of FPD Cleaning System and Processing by Using a Two-Phase Flow Nozzle)

  • As the fabrication technology used in FPDs(flat-panel displays) advances, the size of these panels is increasing and the pattern size is decreasing to the um range. Accordingly, a cleaning process during the FPD fabrication process is becoming more important to prevent yield reductions. The purpose of this study is to develop a FPD cleaning system and a cleaning process using a two-phase flow. The FPD cleaning system consists of two parts, one being a cleaning part which includes a two-phase flow nozzle, and the other being a drying part which includes an air-knife and a halogen lamp. To evaluate the particle removal efficiency by means of two-phase flow cleaning, silica particles $1.5{\mu}m$ in size were contaminated onto a six-inch silicon wafer and a four-inch glass wafer. We conducted cleaning processes under various conditions, i.e., DI water and nitrogen gas at different pressures, using a two-phase-flow nozzle with a gap distance between the nozzle and the substrate. The drying efficiency was also tested using the air-knife with a change in the gap distance between the air-knife and the substrate to remove the DI water which remained on the substrate after the two-phase-flow cleaning process. We obtained high efficiency in terms of particle removal as well as good drying efficiency through the optimized conditions of the two-phase-flow cleaning and air-knife processes.

Cherepnov 송수기에 대한 배수제어방식의 실험적 특성 (Experimental Characteristic of Drain Control to Cherepnov Water Lifter)

  • The perpose of this study was to suggest the experimental characteristic of the Cherepnov Water Lifter following the drain mode. The Cherepnov Water Lifter(CWL), which is powered by the potential energy of water, can be set to operate automatically when the water m a tank is drained. In this study, a CWL is constructed in the valve drain controlling mode(VCM) and the siphon drain controlling mode(SCM), and a pressure transducer is installed. It was found that, in the VCM, intake flow volume is proportional to both delivery flow volume and drain flow volume. In the SCM, intake flow volume is proportional to drain flow volume, and the average delivery rate is proportional to both efficiency and the water utilization ratio. Also, in the VCM, the water utilization ratio is 35~49%, efficiency is 62~9O%, average delivery rate is 12.8~81.2$cm^3$/s, and the average drain rate is 14.O~91.5c$cm^3$/s. On the contrary in the SCM, the water utilization ratio is 1.7~38%, efficiency is 3~58%, average delivery rate is 3.1 ~69.2$cm^3$/s, and the average drain rate is shown as 114.5~ 183$cm^3$/s. As a result of the water utilization ratio, efficiency, average delivery rate, and average drain rate are compared, the VCM is found to be superior and the more economical mode. However, the VCM requires manpower and electricity to operate the electronic machinery involved, while the SCM requires no manpower or electricity at all. An economic evaluation of these differences will be necessary in the future. Also, in the SCM, studies to improve water utilization ratio and efficiency, to find the optimum height of the siphon for decreasing the average drain rate, and to determine the radius of curvature of throat have to be conducted in advance, since a large flow rate is drained during the priming action of the siphon.

바나듐 레독스-흐름 전지용 격막에 관한 연구 (Study on a Separator for the All-vanadium Redox Flow Battery)

  • 바나듐 레독스-흐름 전지용 격막으로 사용하기 위해 폴리설폰(Psf)에 폴리페닐렌설파이드설폰(PPSS)을 블록 공중합 시킨 폴리머를 사용하여 양이온교환막을 제작하여, 막 특성을 평가하였다. 제작한 양이온교환막은 Nafion117보다 열적 안정성이 뛰어나다는 것을 TG분석을 통해 알 수 있었고, 1몰 황산용액에서의 막 저항은 3 cc의 CSA를 도입하였을 때 $0.96{\Omeg}{\cdot}cm^2$로 제일 작은 저항 값을 나타냈다. 제작한 양이온교환막의 바나듐 레독스-흐름 전지에서의 전기화학적 특성에 대해 평가하였다. 제작한 양이온교환막을 사용한 바나듐 레독스-흐름 전지의 100% 충전상태에서의 기전력은 바나듐 레독스-흐름 전지의 기전력 값인 1.4V를 나타냈으며, 각 충전상태에서의 충 방전 셀 저항은 Nafion117을 사용한 전지의 값보다 작은 값을 나타냈다.

초임계상 이산화탄소 주입으로 인한 공극수 대체에 관한 공극 규모의 마이크로모델 연구 (Pore-scale Investigation on Displacement of Porewater by Supercritical CO2 Injection Using a Micromodel)

  • A micromodel was applied to estimate the effects of geological conditions and injection methods on displacement of resident porewater by injecting scCO2 in the pore scale. Binary images from image analysis were used to distinguish scCO2-filled-pores from other pore structure. CO2 flooding followed by porewater displacement, fingering migration, preferential flow and bypassing were observed during scCO2 injection experiments. Effects of pressure, temperature, salinity, flow rate, and injection methods on storage efficiency in micromodels were represented and examined in terms of areal displacement efficiency. The measurements revealed that the areal displacement efficiency at equilibrium decreases as the salinity increases, whereas it increases as the pressure and temperature increases. It may result from that the overburden pressure and porewater salinity can affect the CO2 solubility in water and the hydrophilicity of silica surfaces, while the neighboring temperature has a significant effect on viscosity of scCO2. Increased flow rate could create more preferential flow paths and decrease the areal displacement efficiency. Compared to the continuous injection of scCO2, the pulse-type injection reduced the probability for occurrence of fingering, subsequently preferential flow paths, and recorded higher areal displacement efficiency. More detailed explanation may need further studies based on closer experimental observations.

인공하도식 어도에서 2차원 물리서식처 모형을 이용한 어류 유입 효율 평가 -피라미를 대상으로- (Assessment of Influx Efficiency at By-Pass Fishway Using Two-Dimensional Physical Habitat Simulation Model -Focused on Zacco Platypus-)

  • 본 연구에서는 낙동강 본류의 강정고령보에 설치된 인공하도식 어도의 효율성을 2차원 물리서식처 모형인 River2D를 이용하여 평가해 보았다. 강정고령보 상하류단의 실측 수위를 이용하여 모형을 보정 및 검정하였다. 모의조건은 2012년 풍수량, 평수량, 저수량을 기준으로 어도 입구 및 어도 내부의 흐름장을 분석하였다. 특히 본 연구의 목표종인 피라미가 산란기인 봄철에 주로 이동을 하므로, 저수기를 기준으로 어도가 기능을 잘 유지하는지 살펴보았다. 분석결과, 풍수 및 평수기에는 본류 수위가 높아 어도로의 피라미 유입 효율성이 떨어져 보였다. 반면 저수기에는 본류의 낮은 수위로 인해 어도 입구에 상대적으로 적절한 유속이 발생하여 유입효율과 이동효율이 높아질 것으로 평가되었다. 어도 내 흐름은 어류가 소상하기에 무리가 없는 유속장이 발생하는 것으로 파악되었다.

반응표면법을 이용한 평행류 열교환기의 형상 최적화 (Optimal Shape of a Parallel-Flow Heat Exchanger by Using a Response Surface Method)

  • The heat and flow characteristics in a single-phase parallel-flow heat exchanger was examined numerically to obtain its optimal shape. A response surface method was introduced to approximately predict its performance with respect to the design parameters over the design domain. The inflow/outflow angle of the working fluid, the location of inlet/outlet, the protruding height of flat tube and the height of header were chosen as a design parameter The evaluation of the relative importance of the design parameters was performed based on a sensitivity analysis. An efficiency index was used as an evaluation characteristics value to simultaneously consider both the heat transfer and the pressure drop. The efficiency index of the optimum model, compared to that of the base model, was increased by 9.3%.

연소기가 장착된 수증기 개질기에서 운전조건이 열유동 특성 및 개질효율에 미치는 영향 (The Effect of Operating Conditions on the Heat-flow Characteristics and Reforming Efficiency of Steam Reformer with Combustor)

  • The heat-flow characteristics and reforming efficiency of steam reformer with combustor are numerically investigated at various operating conditions. SCR(Steam to Carbon Ratio) and GHSV(Gas Hourly Space Velocity) are adopted as important operating conditions. User-Defined-Function(UDF) was used to simultaneously calculate reforming and combustion reaction. Numerical results show that hot burned gas rise by a buoyant force and heat exchange between reforming reactors and cocurrent flow occurs in the combustion region. The results also indicate that an increase of SCR leads to decrease the mole fraction of hydrogen at the reactor outlet. As GHSV increases, conversion rate decreases.

피스톤 냉각용 Oil Jet 유동 수치해석 (A Numerical investigation of Oil Jet in an Engine Piston)

  • The internal state of an automotive engine is very severe. A piston exposes burnt gas of over $2000^{\circ}$ nd is shocked by high pressure at the time of explosion. Furthermore strong friction is caused by high speed motion. A study on the cooling of the piston requires because the cooling and lubrication of the piston has an effect on the life and efficiency of engine directly. The previous system of oil jet cooled only the bottom of the piston. In order to improve the cooling efficiency, the oil gallery is made inside the piston, and oil flows into the oil gallery. The flow rate of oil at the entrance of oil gallery is important because of the cooling efficiency. The purpose of this study is the investigation of fluid flow characteristics of oil jet and flow rate into the oil gallery.
