The Flow fields of a ship's propulsion mechanism of Weis-Fogh type were investigated by the PIV. Velocity vectors and velocity profiles around the operating and stationary wings were observed at opening angles of ${\alpha}=15^{\circ} and $30^{\circ}$, velocity ratios of V/U=$0.5{\sim}1.5$ and Reynolds number of Re=$0.52{\times}10^4{\sim}1.0{\times}10^4$. As the results the fluid between wing and wall was inhaled in the opening stage and was jet in the closing stage. The wing in the translating stage accelerated the fluid in the channel. And the flow fields of this propulsion mechanism were unsteady and complex, but those were clarified by flow visualization using the PIV.
In AC electrowetting, it has been reported that there is a flow inside droplets. The flow characteristics such as flow rate, direction and the pattern of streamline are altered according to the frequency range of applied voltage. However, the mechanism of the flow has not been explained yet. This work is concentrated on investigation of the flow mechanism when high-frequency voltage is applied to droplets. We propose that this phenomenon arises from the electro-thermal flow. A numerical analysis is performed for the needle-electrode-plane geometry in which the Coulombic force term is included in the Navier-Stokes equation. According to our analysis, electrical charge is generated due to conductivity gradient which is originated from the nonuniform Joule heating of fluid medium. The result of the analysis is compared with experimental result.
In this paper, based on the developed dynamic model of a vacuum circuit breaker mechanism, the development of the new circuit breaker with less energy mechanism is focused. The energy flow analysis of the original mechanism is carried out to show where the elastic potential energies of pre-loaded springs are transmitted. Through energy flow analysis, the concept design of the new circuit breaker with less energy mechanism is proposed, and then the detailed design is carried out through the design process based on the verified dynamic model. Comparing simulation results with experiment using a high-speed camera, the appropriateness of the proposed design procedures for the rapid circuit breaker mechanism is shown.

The Flow characteristics of a ship's propulsion mechanism of Weis-Fogh type, in which a airfoil(NACA0010) moves reciprocally in a channel, were investigated by the PIV. The velocity and pressure fields of a ship's Weis-Fogh type propulsion mechanism are studied in this paper using an advanced vortex method. The wing (NACA0010 airfoil) and channel are approximated by source and vortex panels. and free vortices are introduced away from the body surfaces. The viscous diffusion of fluid is represented using the core-spreading model to the discrete vortices. The velocity is calculated on the basis of the generalized Biot-Savart law and the pressure field is calculated from an integral, based on the instantaneous velocity and vorticity distributions in the flow field. Two-dimensional unsteady viscous flow calculations of this propulsion mechanism are shown. and the calculated results agree qualitatively with the measured thrust and drag due to un-modeled large fluctuations in the measured data.

In this paper, we propose a AH LSU(Advanced Hybrid QoS Routing Link State Update) Algorithm that improves the performance of Hybrid LSU(Hybrid QoS Link State State Update) Algorithm with statistical information of flow holding time in network. AH LSU algorithm has had both advantages of LSU message control in periodic QoS routing LSU algorithm and QoS routing performance in adaptive LSU algorithm. It has the mechanism that calculate LSU message transmission priority using the flow of statistical request bandwidth and available bandwidth and include MLMR(Meaningless LSU Message Removal) mechanism. MLMR mechanism can remove the meaningless LSU message generating repeatedly in short time. We have evaluated the performance of the MLMR mechanism, the proposed algorithm and the existing algorithms on MCI simulation network. We use the performance metric as the QoS routing blocking rate and the mean update rate per link, it thus appears that we have verified the performance of this algorithm.
Fluidelastic instability is a key issue in steam generator tube bundles subjected in cross-flow. With a low flow velocity, a large amplitude vibration of the tube observed by many researchers. However, the mechanism of this vibration is seldom analyzed. In this paper, the mechanism of cross-flow effects on fluidelastic instability of tube bundles was investigated. Analysis reveals that when the system reaches the critical state, there would be two forms, with two critical velocities, and thus two expressions for the critical velocities were obtained. Fluidelastic instability experiment and numerical analysis were conducted to obtain the critical velocity. And, if system damping is small, with increases of the flow velocity, the stability behavior of tube array changes. At a certain flow velocity, the stability of tube array reaches the first critical state, a dynamic bifurcation occurs. The tube array returns to a stable state with continues to increase the flow velocity. At another certain flow velocity, the stability of tube array reaches the second critical state, another dynamic bifurcation occurs. However, if system damping is big, there is only one critical state with increases the flow velocity. Compared the results of experiments to numerical analysis, it shows a good agreement.

In wireless sensor networks, the importance of transporting data correctly with reliability is increasing gradually along with the need to support communications between the nodes and sink. Data flow from the sink to the nodes requires reliability for control or management that is very sensitive and intolerant of error; however, data flow from the nodes to the sink is relatively tolerant. In this paper, with emphasis on the data flow from the sink to the nodes, we propose a mechanism that considers accurate transport with reliability hop-by-hop. During the process of sending the data, if errors occur or data is missing, the proposed mechanism supports error recovery using a fixed window with selective acknowledgment. In addition, this mechanism supports congestion control depending on the buffer condition. Through the simulation, we show that this mechanism is accurate, reliable, and proper for transport in wireless sensor networks.

Material flow control mechanism is a kind of operational policy in manufacturing. It is very important because it varies throughput, throughput time, and work-in-process (WIP) under the same manufacturing resources. Many Researchers have developed various material flow control mechanisms and insisted that their mechanism is superior to others. However the experimental environment used in the performance comparison are different and impractical. In this paper, we set various manufacturing environments to fairly compare five previous material flow control mechanism : Push, Pull, CONWIP, Gated MaxWIP, and Critical WIP Loops. The simulation results show that the Push is superior to others in both of throughput and WIP if required demand is less than 80% of capacity. In addition, the performance of CONWIP and its variants are not different statistically.
