  • This study was to and out contemporary space design trends of rural houses in So-yang Munhwa village by analyzing their floor plan shapes and space relations & elements of floor plans. There were built 71 houses in that village but it were possible to collect housing data, floor plans & general building records of 41 houses, from house register. By analyzing those data, findings were as follows : 1) Floor plan shapes of rural houses had a tendency to be diverse, various form of 'ㅋ' than simple form of 'ㅡ'. 2) Room-Living-Room, 3 bay arrangement was very strong trends, and traditional planning characteristics that the openness of living space was keeping. 3) Anbang(master bedroom) and living space were important, so two spaces were set forth of floor plan and Anbang with a bathroom were often showed. 4) DK space and its relation to other spaces were important factor to classily 2 floor plan types of them. 5) DK(dining kitchen) space had an openness from back entrance and DK were separated from public spaces L.D.K. Utility or balcony/veranda spaces as a support space of kitchen were planned in rural houses, and they were influenced from apartment houses or urban houses.

Data were analyzed by computer using frequency, percentage, mean, standard deviation, F-test, Duncans multiple range test, η2 , person's product moment correlation coefficient. the results are as follows: Factors which influence satisfaction with the functionality of interior were household size and family life cycle as sociodemographic variable, and type of unit floor plan as physical variable. It was shown that the satisfaction with the functionality of interior was related to satisfaction with the external environment. • To develop floor impact sound resilient materials of apartment house effectively, floor impact sound insulation performance test lab. was designed and constructed in T company. Introducing specification and basic performance of this lab. could be helpful in plan and design of another lab. Floor space size of this lab. is $4.2m{\times}5.5m$ and this size is similar with that of living room of usual apartment house's (about $100m^2$) and the height of lab. is 2.4m. Slab thickness is designed by 180mm. Frequency characteristics is similar to general apartment house. Reverberation time of sound receiving room displays 1.26sec in 125Hz by establishing sound-absorbing materials. For light weight impact sound insulation performance of concrete bare floor structure is estimated by $L_{i,AW}\;=\;73$ and for heavy weight is estimated by $L_{i,Fmax,AW}\;=\;50$. Sound pressure level distribution of sound receiving room is ranged very uniformly. With these results, floor impact sound resilient materials could be evaluated and the results could be trusted by comparison tests.

  • The study analyzed the effects of the floor plan characteristics on the apartment price under the national housing size in 3 Gangnam districts for decades, the primary apartment markets in Korea. The analysis showed that the storage spaces such as kitchen, warehouses and dressage rooms have a positive effect on the price. Especially, the highly opened space with three-side open plan and the one with the unified type of livingroom, diningroom and kitchen have shown the strong effect on the price. For the kitchen spaces, the I-shaped kitchen tends to be more expensive while a centered living room has a positive effect on the price. These findings have an academic significance as the direct effects of plan characteristics on price has been examined unlike prior research focused on the analysis of trend, basic statistics, and satisfaction level. It is noteworthy that these research finding has identified the productive implication for the future floor plan design and pricing and also be implemented in the purchasing decision making by buyers in the housing market.

  • A prototype of remodeling floor plans are proposed in this study. They are researched base on the majority floor plan type which forms 19% out of representatives 1st-Phase New Town Aged Apartment compositions. In order to examine possible scenarios of the prototypes, prototype planning model is derived from the president studies on aged apartment remodeling. The prototype plans reflect residents' preference survey and lead 6 different kinds of prototype plans regarding 3 different remodeling scenarios. Prototypes consider characteristics of multi-complex buildings and households which applicably various remodeling planning options; story-Increase remodeling, residents custom remodeling etc. The study has significance to be basic planning materials for remodeling of association and local government.
