  • Recently, the flat-plate structure is widely used because it has many advantages such as reduction of story height, long span etc than the RC rahmen structure. Furthermore, application of the flat-plate is on the increase because of flexible plan unlike wall structure. Long span have been at a disadvantage for vibration serviceability evaluation, however studies about vertical direction vibration of flat-plate structure has not been carried out. This study analysis the characteristics according to slab structure to make an experiment on vibration and floor impact noise for the flat-plate structure in construction performance laboratory in Kolon E&C R&D center, the flat-plate structure applied to the post-tension method, and the wall structure in apartment houses.

  • In this study, examined heavy-weight floor impact sound to structure that have slab thickness of 4 form at a standard laboratory through noise and vibration measured. The results show that the nature Natural frequency increased according to change of thickness of each slab by finite element analysis, and acceleration value decreased. Results of measurements of noise and vibration at a standard laboratory, the slab 210, 240mm structures was construed result such as finite element analysis but the slab 150, 180mm structures is construed that influence in vibration acceleration level because edge condition has condition that contact to ground. Therefore, in modelling process for analysis, is thought that need that condition analyzes examining element influencing about structure that contact to ground.

  • This study examined small-size specimen's effectiveness that is used to evaluate floor impact sound performance. Floor impact sound level of small-size specimen is higher than full-size. This is due to excessive impact power of Bang machine. Impact hammer that has small impact power relatively can solve this problem. But, according to the size of specimen, mode shape and frequency that influence to structural borne sound is changed. Slab mode of full-size specimen was changed to frequency design of resilient materials. But in case of small-size specimen, there is no change of vibration mode by resilient materials change, Vibration mode of small-size specimen is the same. Therefore, it is not proper that use small-size specimen in floor impact sound estimation.

  • The vibrational behavior of a front load washing machine is heavily influenced by the floor stiffness on which the washing machine is installed. In case the floor stiffness is extremely low like a wooden floor (we call it a 'soft floor, S/F'), it is quite probable that a washer's rigid body mode exists in the operating frequency range. In this case, the outer frame vibration level would be very high, but the mitigation scheme is quite limited except the excitation force abatement by acquisition of the optimal inertia in the internal vibratory system and the diaphragm's stiffness with the minimum force transfer.

  • The purpose of this study is to review and to suggest improvement concerning floor impact noise section of the housing performance grading indication system. After a result, the main improvement is to resolve the discrepancies in the rules or regulations such as design specification(standard floor system) or design performance(accredited floor system) and as-built performance like 58 dB.

  • It is increasing the interest on the comfortable dwelling environment, while sound insulation performance of materials and elements used in building is falling down as they become thicker and lighter Therefore, sound insulation performance in building has become the most important factor determining the level of housing, especially for apartment that has common wall and floor with next neighbors. • The relationship between floor impact sound and vibration has been studied by field measurements, and the vibration modal characteristics have been analyzed. Vibration levels impacted by a standard heavy-weight impact source have been predicted according to the main design parameters using finite element method. Experimental results show that the dominant frequencies of the heavy impact sounds range below 100 Hz and that they are coincident with natural frequencies of the concrete slab. In addition, simple 2-dimensional finite element models are proposed to substitute 2 types of 3-dimensional models of complicated floor structural slabs those by The analytical result shows that the natural frequencies from first to fifth mode well correspond to those by experiments with an error of less than $12\%$, and acceleration peak value iscoincident with an error of less than $2\%$. Using the finite element model. vibration levels areestimated according to the design Parameters, slab thickness, compressive strength, and as a result, the thickness is revealed as effective to increase natural frequencies by $20\~30\%$ and to reduce the vibration level by 3$\~$4 dB per 30 mm of extra thickness.
