대체냉매를 적용한 대형 압축식 냉동기의 만액식 증발기에 대한 성능 해석 (Performance Analysis of the Flooded Refrigerant Evaporators for Large Tonnage Compression-Type Refrigerators Using Alternative Refrigerants)

  • 대형 압축식 냉동기의 증발기 전열관으로는 그간 평활관이 주로 사용되어 왔으나 최근들어 비등 성능이 우수한 성형 가공관을 많이 사용하고 있다. 증발기는 관군으로 구성되고 따라서 증발기 내 위치에 따라 냉매 상태가 다르다. 특히 R-11, R-123과 같은 저압 냉매는 압력변화에 따른 포화온도 변화가 크므로 위치에 따라 포화온도가 다르게 된다. 따라서 증발기를 적절히 설계하려면 증발기 내 각 위치에서의 냉매의 상태를 적절히 예측하여야 한다. 본 연구에서는 대형 냉동기의 만액식 증발기를 모사할 수 있는 컴퓨터 프로그램을 개발하였다. 이 프로그램은 증발기를 미소 체적으로 구분하고 각 미소 체적에 적절한 관 내외측 열전달 및 압력손실 상관식을 적용하여 해석을 수행하였다. 본 프로그램을 R-123을 사용하는 T사의 만액식 증발기 해석에 적용한 결과 만족할 만한 결과를 얻었다. 이 프로그램을 이용하여 신 냉매인 R-123, R-134a를 사용하는 만액식 증발기의 해석을 수행하였고 특히 관군 세장비의 영향을 검토하였다.

  • The boiling characteristics for R134a are studied to clarify the hysteresis at low temperature on enhanced tubes of a flooded evaporator. Initial boiling conditions, refrigerant temperature, and inlet temperature of the chilled water are considered as the key parameters of the experiments. Unlike previous studies of the boiling heat transfer with uniform heat flux and uniform wall temperature, the wall temperature was varied along the tube. In, this study, it was found that the hysteresis of the temperature overshoot (705) at the onset of nucleate boiling initially at the inlet section of the tube. It is also concluded that the abnormal operation can be avoided during the low temperature boiling if the refrigeration system is started with LMTD larger than $3.4^{\circ}C$ at initial stage and larger than $1.0^{\circ}C$ at normal stage.

Nucleate Pool Boiling of a Structured Enhanced Tube Used in a Flooded Refrigerant Evaporator

  • In this study, pool boiling performance of a structured enhanced tube for a flooded refrigerant evaporator was experimentally investigated. Tests were performed for three different refrigerants(R-11, R-123, R-l34a). Compared with the heat transfer coefficients of the smooth tube, the heat transfer coefficients of the enhanced tube were 6.6 times larger for R-11, 6.0 times larger for R-123 and 3.5 times larger for R-l34a, which are comparable with the performance of foreign products. The heat transfer coefficients of R-l34a was higher than those of R-11 or R-123, both for the enhanced tube and for the smooth tube. At 4.4$^\circ$C saturation temperature, however, the heat transfer coefficients of R-l34a was approximately the same as those of R-11. The effect of the saturation pressure on the boiling performance was similar to that of the smooth tube-the heat transfer coefficient increased as the saturation pressure increased.

  • Pool boiling performance of a metal-formed enhanced tube for a flooded refrigerant evaporator was experimentally investigated. Tests were performed for three different refrigerants(R-11, R-123, R-l34a), at two different saturation temperatures $4.4^{\circ}C \;and \;26.7^{\circ}C$ .Heat flux was varied from 10㎾/$m^2\;to\ 50㎾/$m^2$. Compared with the heat transfer coefficients of the smooth tube, the heat transfer coefficients of the enhanced tube were 6.6 times higher for R-11, 6.0 tines higher for R-123 and 3.5 times higher for R-l34a. The enhancements are comparable with those of foreign products. The heat transfer coefficients of R-l34a were higher than those of R-11 and R-123, either for the enhanced tube or for the smooth tube.   • The objectives of this paper are to study the characteristics of pool boiling heat transfer for enhanced tubes used in the evaporator of turbo chiller and to provide a guideline for optimum design of an evaporator using HFC134a. Three different enhanced tubes are tested at 4 different saturation temperatures. The wall super heated temperature difference ranges from $0.5^{\circ}C\;to\;3.5^{\circ}C$. The refrigerant, HFC134a evaporates on the outside of the tube while the chilled water flows inside the tube. This study provides experimental heat transfer coefficients for evaporation on the enhanced tubes. It is found that the turbo-II tube provides the highest heat transfer coefficient.

중간기 열원수 온도에 따른 만액식 해수냉각시스템의 성능 특성 (Performance Characteristics of Flooded Type Evaporator for Seawater Cooling System with Heat Source Temperature of Mid-year)

  • The purpose of this study is to investigate the performance characteristics of seawater cooling system for a fishing vessel. The circulation amount of refrigerant, condensation capacity, evaporation capacity, compression work and coefficient of performance(COP) were analyzed as the heat source temperature changed. The experimental setup consisted of an open-type compressor, a shell&tube type condenser, an evaporator and an expansion valve. The heat source was controlled by a constant temperature chamber. The main results of this study are summarized as follows. The condensation capacity increased with increasing heat source temperature, and it was confirmed that the effect of circulating amount of refrigerant was dominant. The amount of heat for vaporization was almost constant even though the temperature of the heat source increased. On the other hand, the compression power was increased. This is because the compression ratio increases as the condensation pressure, the enthalpy difference between inlet and outlet, the amount of circulating refrigerant increases. The performance coefficient of this system showed a tendency decreasing with increasing heat source temperature. Therefore, the basic data of the seawater cooling system for the maintenance of the catch line of the shore fishing boats was acquired through this study, and it is considered that it will be sufficient for the actual design.

만액식 증발기용 성형가공관의 풀비등 성능 (Pool Boiling Performance of Enhanced Tubes for a Flooded Evaporator)

  • In this study, pool boiling performance of Turbo/B-type metal-formed tubes was investigated. Tubes with three different cavity gap width(0.04 mm, 0.07 mm, 0.1 mm) were manufactured and tested using R-11, R-123 and R-134a. Tests were conducted at two different saturation temperatures $4.4^{\circ}C$ and $26.7^{\circ}C.$ Heat flux was varied from 10 kW/m2 to 50 kW/m2. It was found that optimum gap width varied for different refrigerants. For low-pressure refrigerants such as R-11 or R-123, optimum gap width was 0.07 mm. For high-pressure refrigerant R-134a, however, the optimum value was 0.1 mm. Compared with the heat transfer performance of the smooth tube, the metal-formed tubes enhanced the heat transfer coefficients significantly - 6.5 times for R-11, 6.0 times for R-123 and 5.0 times for R-134a (at $4.4^{\circ}C$ saturation temperature and 40 kW/m2 heat flux), which are comparable with the performance of foreign products. The heat transfer coefficients of R-134a were larger than those of R-11 or R-123, and they increased as the saturation temperature increased.

셸앤디스크형 열교환기를 적용한 프레온 냉동장치의 성능특성 연구 (The Study on Performance Characteristics in Freon Refrigeration System using Shell and Disk Type Heat Exchanger)

  • Nowadays heat exchangers that have been applied for freon refrigerating systems, a shell and tube type condenser and a flooded evaporator have been used, but because of their large size, large space for installation and amount of refrigerants are needed. In this study, we will find the most suitable operating condition of shell and disk type optimum heat exchanger which can minimize the amount of a refrigerant and allow its minimum leakage. The condensing pressure of refrigeration system is increased from 15.0bar to 16.0bar and degree of superheat is increased from 0 to $10^{\circ}C$ at each condensing pressure. As a result of study, It revealed that shell and disk type heat exchanger was applicable to the freon refrigeration system

해수냉각시스템용 Aluminium Brass Tube의 R-134a 증발열전달 특성 (Evaporating heat transfer characteristics of Aluminum-brass tube for seawater cooling system using R-134a)

  • 대부분의 어선에서는 포획된 어류를 관리하고 저장하기 위해 얼음 냉각 시스템을 사용한다. 그러나 얼음 냉각 시스템은 작동 시간의 제한뿐만 아니라 적절한 온도와 염분 농도를 유지하는 것이 어려운 단점이 있다. 본 연구의 목적은 어류 운반선의 어창에 적정한 해수온도 유지를 위한 해수 냉각 시스템용 만액식 증발 열전달 특성을 파악하는데 있다. 실험은 냉매의 해수 온도, 유량 및 포화 온도의 변화를 주며 열전달 특성을 파악하였다. 동일 열유속에서 Aluminium-Brass tube가 Copper-Nickel tube 보다 외측 열전달계수가 약 10% 큰 것으로 확인할 수 있었으며, 이를 통해 해수용 열교환기의 전열관으로 Aluminium-Brass를 적용하는 것이 열전달 측면에서 효과적일 것을 확인할 수 있었다. 만액식 단관 열전달계수와 18 kW급 만액식 해수냉각시스템의 총괄열전달계수의 비교를 통해 동일 조건에서는 25%정도 단관의 열전달계수가 큰 값을 나타내었으며, 이러한 결과는 만액식 관군 열교환기의 설계를 위한 중요한 자료가 되리라 판단된다.
