Electro-Mechanical Actuator installed on the aircraft plays a key role in an aircraft's flight control through flight control computer. Reliable prediction of the actuator is important for the aircraft. To estimate the lifetime of a product, it is necessary to test full target life. However, it is very difficult to perform it due to the long life time of actuator but short period of development time with increasing cost. Therefore, accelerated life test has been used to reduce the test time for various reasons such as reducing product's development cycle and cost. In this paper, to predict the lifetime of the actuator, we analyzed the flight profile of aircraft and adapted the method of accelerated life test in order to accelerate failure modes that might occur under user conditions. We also set up an endurance test equipment for validating the demanded lifetime of an actuator and performed accelerated life test.

A prestudy on expendable turbine engine for high-speed vehicle was conducted. The two possible mission profiles were established to decide the engine requirements and Design Point, and Design Point analysis was performed with the values of design parameter which were obtained from similar class engines and technical references. The results showed that Specific Net Thrust is 2599.4 ft/s and Specific Fuel Consumption is 1.483 lb/($lb^*h$) at the flight condition of Sea Level, Mach 1.2. It was also found through the performance analysis on the two possible mission profiles that major design parameters for determining Net Thrust were Turbine Inlet Temperature for low supersonic flight speed and Compressor Exit Temperature for high supersonic flight speed. In addition, simple turbojet engine with axial compressor, straight annular combustor, axial turbine and fixed throat area converge-diverge exhaust nozzle was proposed as the configuration of simple low cost light engine.

After two possible mission profiles were established to decide the engine requirements, design point analysis was performed with the values of design parameter which were obtained from similar class engines, references, etc. The results showed that specific net thrust and specific fuel consumption with turbine inlet temperature of 3,600 R are 2,599.4 ft/s and 1.483 lb/(lb*h) respectively at the flight condition of sea level, Mach 1.2. It was also found that major design parameters for determining maximum net thrust were turbine inlet temperature for low supersonic and transonic flight speed and compressor exit temperature for high supersonic flight speed from the results of performance analysis on the two possible mission profiles. In addition, simple turbojet engine with an axial compressor, a straight annular combustor, an one stage axial turbine and a fixed throat area converge-diverge exhaust nozzle was proposed as the configuration of simple low cost lightweight turbine engine.

Developing high-fidelity Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) simulation methods used to evaluate the airwake characteristics along a flight deck of a large ship, the various kind of data such as actual ship measurement and wind tunnel results are required to verify the accuracy of CFD simulation. Inflow velocity profile at the bow, local unsteady flow field data around the flight deck, and highly reliable wind tunnel data which were measured after reviewing Atmospheric Boundary Layer (ABL) simulation and Reynolds Number effects were also used to determine the key parameters such as turbulence model, time resolution and accuracy, grid resolution and type, inflow condition, domain size, simulation length, and so on in STAR CCM+. Velocity ratio and turbulent intensity difference between Full-scale CFD and actual ship measurement at the measurement points show less than 2% and 1.7% respectively. And differences in velocity ratio and turbulence intensity between wind tunnel test and small-scale CFD are both less than 2.2%. Based upon this fact, the selected parameters in CFD simulation are highly reliable for a specific wind condition.

According to the Unmanned aircraft system Traffic Management (UTM), drones are permitted to fly up to 150m above ground, which is located in the atmospheric boundary layer where there is considerable wind fluctuation due to turbulence. Although it is difficult to predict when turbulence will occur drone aviation safety could be enhanced by having a better understanding of the characteristics of vertical profile of wind in the flight area. We used wind lidar (WIndMast 350M) to observe vertical profiles of wind at the test site for aviation meteorological observation equipment located near Incheon International Airport in July and September, 2022. In this study, we utilized the observed wind profile data to propose a technique for obtaining information that could help improve the drone aviation safety. The Fourier transform analysis is used to evaluate the temporal characteristics of the horizontal wind speed at various vertical levels up to 350m. We also examined the relative contribution of the variance of wind having scales of less than an hour, a crucial scale for drone flight, to the variance of wind having all scales at each vertical altitude for days with and without precipitation.
Gust load is a very important load factor in designing various structures of an aircraft and judging its stability. This is because the blast effect on the aircraft in operation increases the risk of damage to the structure of the aircraft and causes a negative impact such as shortening the fatigue life by generating vibration. Particularly in the case of wing, a change in angle of attack is caused by gust load, and an additional lift acts on the wing, thereby being exposed to various excitational environments. Severe structural damage to the aircraft may occur if the natural frequencies of the aircraft wing are close to or coincident with the frequencies of the gust load applied to the wing. Recent trends of research include flight dynamics analysis considering discontinuous gusts or structural optimization of the blades under gust load. A number of studies have been conducted to interpret gust load response in consideration of irregularities in gusts. In this paper, we tried to imagine the situation of the aircraft subjected to the gust load as realistic as possible, and proposed an algorithm to track back the critical gust profile according to given aircraft characteristics from the viewpoint of preliminary engineering prediction.
Objective: SanYangSam and SanYangSanSam are traditional Korea-medical herbs that are grown from Panax ginseng C.A. Meyer. In our previous studies, we found that the functional compounds in SanYangSam and SanYangSanSam were different and depended on the type and the cultivation environment of ginseng. This study aimed to profile the functional constituents in SanYangSam and SanYangSanSam. Methods: To profile the functional aspects of the many compounds that have therapeutic activities in SanYangSam and SanYangSanSam extracts, we used liquid chromatography tandem mass spectrometry and quadrupole orthogonal acceleration time-of-flight mass spectrometry. Results: A total of four major compounds were detected; two of which were the natural flavonoids kaempferol and quercetin. Among others, two polyacetylene compounds, including panaxydol and panaxynol, were detected. Conclusion: In this study, we found that panaxydol, one of the polyacetylene constituents of ginseng, is a candidate anti-cancer agent in SanYangSam and SanYangSanSam pharmacopuncture. In addition, we found that the panaxydol levels in the SanYangSanSam extract were over 30 times those in the SanYangSam extract.

A position estimation technique is presented for a missile using high-resolution range profiles obtained by three wideband radars. Radar measures a target range using a reflected signal from the surface of a missile. However, it is difficult to obtain the range between the radar and the origin of the missile. For this reason, the interior angle between the moving missile and tracking radar is calculated, and a compensated range between surface of the missile and its origin is added to the tracking range of the radar. Therefore, position estimation of a missile can be achieved by using three total ranges from each radar to the origin of the missile. To verify the position estimation of the missile, electromagnetic numerical analysis software was used to prove the compensated range according to the flight position. Moreover, a wideband radar operating at 500-MHz bandwidth was applied, and its range profile was used for the position estimation of a missile.

We have designed ramp profile excitation pulse based on the Shinnar-Le Roux (SLR) algorithm. The algorithm provides many advantages to pulse designers. The first advantage is the freedom of deciding the amplitudes, frequencies, and ripple sizes of stopband, passband, and transition band of pulse profile. The second advantage is the freedom of deciding the pulse phase, more specifically, minimum phase, linear phase, maximum phase, and any phase between them. The minimum phase pulse is the best choice in the case of 3D TOF, because it minimizes the echo time, which implies the best image quality in the same MR examination condition. In addition, the half echo technique is slightly modified in our case. In general, using the half echo technique means that the acquired data size is half and the rest part can be filled with complex conjugate of acquired data. But in our case, the echo center is just shifted to left, which implies the reduction of echo time, and the acquired data size is the same as the one without using the half echo technique. In this case, the increase of right part of data leads to improvement of the resolution and the decrease of left part of data leads to decrease of signal to noise ratio. Since in the case of 3D TOF, the signal to noise ratio is sufficiently high and the resolution is more important than signal to noise ratio, the proposed method appears to be significantly affective and gives rise to the improved high resolution angiograms.

In an environment where multiple drones are operated, collisions can occur when path points overlap, and collision avoidance in preparation for this is essential. When multiple drones perform multiple tasks, it is not appropriate to use a method to generate a collision-avoiding path in the path planning phase because the path of the drone is complex and there are too many collision prediction points. In this paper, we generate a path through a commonly used path generation algorithm and propose a collision avoidance method using speed profile optimization from that path segment. The safe distance between drones was considered at the expected point of collision between paths of drones, and it was designed to assign a speed profile to the path segment. The optimization problem was defined by setting the distance between drones as variables in the flight time equation. We constructed the constraints through linearize and convexification, and compared the computation time of SQP and convex optimization method in multiple drone operating environments. Finally, we confirmed whether the results of performing convex optimization in the 20 drone operating environments were suitable for the multiple drone operating system proposed in this study.
