  • Turbine rotor disc consists of disc, bore, keyway, hub, and rim in which the typical defects are located. And these part of disc has very complicated geometry, therefore proper transducer selection, wedge design, fabrication, classification and evaluation of the signal identification are required. In this research, test block with the artificial flaws at keyway and boresurface parts have been used in order to establish the ultrasonic inspection technique for flaw detectability on disc. The analysis of the signals from the test blocks was performed. The wedges were designed according to the curvature from the discs. All the ultrasonic signals were collected and identified for evaluation. The ultrasonic inspection technique for the flaw-detection was established from this research. And it is proved that the result of this research can be applicable in the field inspection.

  • As robots are considered one of the mainstream digital transformations, robots with machine vision becomes a main area of study providing the ability to check what robots watch and make decisions based on it. However, it is difficult to find a small object in the image mainly due to the flaw of the most of visual recognition networks. Because visual recognition networks are mostly convolution neural network which usually consider local features. So, we make a model considering not only local feature, but also global feature. In this paper, we propose a detection method of a small marker on the object using deep learning and an algorithm that considers global features by combining Transformer's self-attention technique with a convolutional neural network. We suggest a self-attention model with new definition of Query, Key and Value for model to learn global feature and simplified equation by getting rid of position vector and classification token which cause the model to be heavy and slow. Finally, we show that our model achieves higher mAP than state of the art model YOLOr.

  • The recent growth of smartphone users and high speed network has fueled the expansion of the market for mobile application. Among these applications with various purposes, smartphone games are the hottest contents on this market. Smartphone games are far different from former games due to their new input and output interface (e.g. touch sensors and gyro sensors). It is possible that the most resonable way to categorize these new smartphone games is comparisons of different objects, in this case, various smarphone games. But there exists no classification of the games neither for the use of the market nor the purpose of researches. Even though there are few classifications for games, those classifications have a major flaw that their criteria are derived from superficial features of games. In this paper, we propose a new method to categorize smartphone games through game mechanics of principal design components.

  • Ultrasonic inspection methods are widely used for detecting flaws in materials. The signal analysis step plays a crucial part in the data interpretation process. A number of signal processing methods have been proposed to classify ultrasonic flaw signals. One of the more popular methods involves the extraction of an appropriate set of features followed by the use of a neural network for the classification of the signals in the feature space. This paper describes an alternative approach which uses the least mean square (LMS) method and expectation maximization (EM) algorithm with the model based deconvolution which is employed for classifying nondestructive evaluation (NDE) signals from steam generator tubes in a nuclear power plant. The signals due to cracks and deposits are not significantly different. These signals must be discriminated to prevent from happening a huge disaster such as contamination of water or explosion. A model based deconvolution has been described to facilitate comparison of classification results. The method uses the space alternating generalized expectation maximization (SAGE) algorithm In conjunction with the Newton-Raphson method which uses the Hessian parameter resulting in fast convergence to estimate the time of flight and the distance between the tube wall and the ultrasonic sensor Results using these schemes for the classification of ultrasonic signals from cracks and deposits within steam generator tubes are presented and showed a reasonable performances.

  • The aim of this paper is to develop a novel method to determine the severity of a damage in a thin plate. This paper presents a novel fault detection and diagnosis approach employing a new electromagnetic acoustic transducer, called EMAT, together with a complex signal processing method. The method consists in the recognition of a fault that exists within the structure, the fault location, i.e. the identification of the geometric position of damage, and the determining the significance of the damage, which indicates the importance or severity of the defect. The main scientific novelties presented in this paper is: to develop of a new type of electromagnetic acoustic transducer; to incorporate wavelet transforms for signal representation enhancements; to investigate multi-parametric analysis for noise identification and defect classification; to study attenuation curves properties for defect localization improvement; flaw sizing and location algorithm development.
