Development of Automatic Airborne Image Orthorectification Using GPS/INS and LIDAR Data (GPS/INS와 LIDAR자료를 이용한 자동 항공영상 정사보정 개발)

  • Digital airborne image must be precisely orthorectified to become geographical information. For orthorectification of airborne images, GPS/INS (Global Positioning System/Inertial Navigation System) and LIDAR (LIght Detection And Ranging) elevation data were employed. In this study, 635 frame airborne images were produced and LIDAR data were converted to raster image for applying to image orthorectification. To derive images with constant brightness, flat field correction was applied to images. The airborne images were geometrically corrected by calculating internal orientation and external orientation using GPS/INS data and then orthorectified using LIDAR digital elevation model image. The precision of orthorectified images was validated by collecting 50 ground control points from arbitrary five images and LIDAR intensity image. As validation result, RMSE (Root Mean Square Error) was 0.387 as almost same as only two times of pixel spatial resolution. It is possible that this automatic orthorectification method of airborne image with higher precision is applied to airborne image industry.

  • In the manufacturing process of the LQFP/TQFP (Low-profile Quad Flat Package/Thin Quad Flat Package), the requirement of a 3 dimensional inspection is increasing rapidly and a 3D inspection of the shape of a chip has become an important report of quality control. This study developed a 3 dimensional measurement system based on PMP (Phase Measuring Profilometry) for an inspection of the LQFP/TQFP chip and image processing algorithms. The defects of the LQFP/TQFP chip were classified according to the dimensions. The 2 dimensional optical system was designed by the dorm illumination to achieve constant light distribution, In the 3 dimensional optical system, PZT was used for moving 90 degree in phase. The problem of 2 ambiguity was solved from the measured moir? pattern using the ambiguity elimination algorithm that finds the point of ambiguity and refines the phase value. The proposed 3D measurement system was evaluated experimentally.

KLYSTRON-MODULATOR SYSTEM PERFORMANCES FOR PLS 2-GeV LINAC (포항 20억 전자볼트 선형가속기 클라이스트론-모듈레이터 시스템의 성능)

  • The PLS 2-GeV linac employs 11 units of high-power pulsed klystrons(80MW) as the main RF sources. The matching modulators of 200 MW(400kV, 500 A) can provide a flat-top pulse width of 4.4 ${\mu}s$ with a maximum pulse repetition rate of 120 Hz at the full power level. For a good stability of electron beams, the pulse-to-pulse flat-top voltage variation of a modulator requires less than 0.5%. In order to achieve this goal, we stabilized high voltage charging power supplies within 1% by a phase controlled SCR voltage regulator. In addition, we employed ac/dc feedback together with a resistive De-Q'ing system to achieve far less than 0.5% variation of the PFN charging voltage. This paper presents the main feature of the klystron-modulator system and the characteristics of the pulsed high-power RF system performance during the beam injection operation for the Pohang Light Source commissioning.

Behavioral Monitoring System for Mud Shrimp Upogebia major and the Photoresponse to Illumination with Different Wavelength LEDs (쏙(Upogebia major)의 광반응 분석시스템 구축과 발광다이오드(Light-Emitting Diode) 파장별 행동분석)

  • The increase in the number of mud shrimps Upogebia major is a concern because of their negative effects on shellfish aquaculture, including Manila clam Venerupis philippinatum along the west coast of Korea. This study developed a behavioral analysis system for aquatic animals using a set of monochromatic light-emitting diode (LED) modules covering the visible light range at similar intervals. Movements of mud shrimp were monitored using a tracking system under illumination with infra-red light and an LED of 660 nm wavelength without provoking stimulation. The minimum light intensity needed to induce a photoresponse by the mud shrimp was $10{\mu}mole/m^2/s$ under the conditions tested. Of the six kinds of LED illuminations tested, the most sensitive response was obtained with illumination with the 505 nm LED, followed in order by LEDs with peak wavelengths of $525nm{\fallingdotseq}465nm$ > $405nm{\fallingdotseq}590nm$ > 660 nm. These findings should help to identify LED sources that efficiently induce movement of the mud shrimp and also for monitoring movement without stimulating.

  • As a display becomes large recently, Acquisition of high luminance and Luminance uniformity is becoming difficult in the existing CCFL or EEFL backlight system. So, study for a performance enhancement has enforced. but lamp development of flat type is asked for high luminance and a luminance uniformity security in of LCD and area anger trend ultimately. In this paper, we changed a tip shape of an electrode for production by the most suitable LCD backlight surface light source, and confirmed discharge characteristic along discharge gas pressure and voltage, and confirmed electric field distribution and discharge energy characteristic through a Maxwell 2D simulation. Therefore the discharge firing voltage characteristic showed a low characteristic than a rectangular type and round type in case of electrode which used tip of a triangle type, and displayed a discharge electric current as a same voltage was low.

Study on the Out-of-Plane Deformation Measurement Condition through Comparison Photosensitivity (광감도 비교를 통한 면외 변형 측정 조건에 대한 연구)

  • In the present study, an interferometer system, which integrates the laser sensitivity control technique based on the theory of electronic speckle pattern interferometry, one of non-contact non-destructive analysis methods, was developed. This interferometry system receives an image from CCD cameras for each reference and object, and compares the photosensitivity of the object and reference images from imagification. For the purpose of this study, the photosensitivity of object and reference light is measured with power meters, and the amount of light was controlled with an ND filter with a reference light port matching photosensitivity. Using the plate specimen as the object, 0.6, 0.9, 1.2, and $1.5{\mu}m$ of out-plane deformation was made, and images were compared according to the difference in photosensitivity. After analysis, larger object deformations showed larger numbers of stripe patterns. Images became clearer and data error was reduced when the photosensitivity of object and reference light matched.

Scanning Stereoscopic PIV for 3D Vorticity Measurement

  • A scanning stereo-PIV system was developed to measure the three-dimensional distribution of three-component velocity in a turbulent round jet. A laser light beam produced by a high repetition rate YLF pulse laser was expanded vertically by a cylindrical lens to form a laser light sheet. The light sheet is scanned in a direction normal to the sheet by a flat mirror mounted on an optical scanner, which is controlled by a programmable scanner controller. Two high-speed mega-pixel resolution C-MOS cameras captured the particle images illuminated by the light sheet, and stereoscopic PIV method was adopted to acquire the 3D-3C-velocity distribution of turbulent round jet in an octagonal tank filled with water. The jet Reynolds number was set at Re=1000 and the streamwise location of the measurement was fixed at approximately x = 40D. Time evolution of three-dimensional vortical structure, which is identified by vorticity, is visualized. It revealed that the existence of a group of hairpin-like vortex structures was quite evident around the rim of the shear layer of the jet. Turbulence statistics shows good agreement with the previous data, and divergence of a filtered (unfiltered) velocity vector field was $7\%\;(22\%)$ of root-me an-squared vorticity value.

  • Low temperature polycrystalline silicon (LTPS) technology using a high power laser have been widely applied to thin film transistors (TFTs) for liquid crystal, organic light emitting diode (OLED) display, driver circuit for system on glass (SOG) and static random access memory (SRAM). Recently, the semiconductor industry is continuing its quest to create even more powerful CPU and memory chips. This requires increasing of individual device speed through the continual reduction of the minimum size of device features and increasing of device density on the chip. Moreover, the flat panel display industry also need to be brighter, with richer more vivid color, wider viewing angle, have faster video capability and be more durable at lower cost. Kornic Systems Co., Ltd. developed the $KORONA^{TM}$ LTP/GLTP series - an innovative production tool for fabricating flat panel displays and semiconductor devices - to meet these growing market demands and advance the volume production capabilities of flat panel displays and semiconductor industry. Optical Measurement of Blood Oxygen Saturation for Artificial Heart Using Wavelength of 665nm and 805nm (665nm와 805nm의 파장을 이용한 인공심장용 혈중 산소포화도의 광학적 측정)

  • This study describes a non-invasive optical sensor and system in order to obtain oxygen saturation of blood, in-vitro. The sensor contains LED 665nm and 805nm of wavelength for light source and PIN photodiode for light detector in flat pack. The sensor system for measurement of oxygen saturation has breadboarded, including signal amplifier, filter, displayer, A/D converter, microprocessor and memory. Experimental set-up for non-invasive measurement of oxygen saturation in-vitro was done. When the variation of oxygen saturation is compared with that of each wavelength, the variation of 665nm is more than that of 805nm by five times. As oxygen saturation varies from 100% to 60%, and the reflection ratio (R805/R665) is changed linearly. The oxygen saturation in $100%{\sim}60%$ range can be measured with about 5% resolution by the developed sensor, such that if this sensor connects with the main artery and vein, the artificial heart can be controlled rapidly and precisely from measurement of the sensor.

  • Airborne imagery must be precisely orthorectified to be used as geographical information data. GPS/INS (Global Positioning System/Inertial Navigation System) and LIDAR (LIght Detection And Ranging) data were employed to automatically orthorectify airborne images. In this study, 154 frame airborne images and LIDAR vector data were acquired. LIDAR vector data were converted to raster image for employing as reference data. To derive images with constant brightness, flat field correction was applied to the whole images. The airborne images were geometrically corrected by calculating internal orientation and external orientation using GPS/INS data and then orthorectified using LIDAR digital elevation model image. The precision of orthorectified images was validated using 50 ground control points collected in arbitrary selected five images and LIDAR intensity image. In validation results, RMSE (Root Mean Square Error) was 0.365 smaller then two times of pixel spatial resolution at the surface. It is possible that the derived mosaicked airborne image by this automatic orthorectification method is employed as geographical information data.
