Statement of problem. More than 70% of patients who need the implant supported restoration are parially edentulous. The principles of design for implant supported fixed partial denture in mandibular posterior region are many and varied. Jurisdiction for their use is usually based on clinical evaluation. There are several areas or interest regarding the design of implant supported fixed partial denture in mandibular posterior region. 1) Straight and tripod configuration in implant placement, 2) Two restoration types such as individualized and splinted restorations. Purpose. The purpose of this study was to compare the amount and distribution of stress around the implant fixtures placed in the mandibular posterior region with two different arrangements and to evaluate the effects of splinting using the photoelastic stress analysis. Material & methods. 1) Production of study model: Mandibular partially edentulous model was waxed-up and duplicated with silicone and two models were poured in stone. 2) Fixture installation and photoelastic model construction: Using surveyor(Ney, USh), 3 fixtures(two 4.0 $\times$13 mm, one 5.0$\times$10 mm, Lifecore, USA) were insta)led in straight & tripod configurations. Silicone molds were made and poured in photoelastic resin (PL-2. Measurements group, USA). 3) Prostheses construction: Four 3-unit bridges (Type III gold alloy, Dongmyung co., Korea) were produced with nonhexed and hexed UCLA abutments and fitted with conventional methods. The abutments were tightened with 30 Ncm torque and the static loads were applied at 12 points of the occlusal surface. 4) Photoelastic stress analysis : The polarizer analyzer system with digital camera(S-2 Pro, Fujifilm, Japan) was used to take the photoelastic fringes and analysed using computer analysis program. Results. Solitary hexed UCLA restoration developed different stress patterns between two implant arrangement configurations, but there were no stress transfer to adjacent implants from the loaded implant in both configurations. However splinted restorations showed lesser amount of stresses in the loaded implants and showed stress transfer to adjacent implants in both configurations. Solitary hexed UCLA restoration with tripod configuration developed higher stresses in anterior and middle implants under loading than implants with straight configurations. Splintied 3 unit fixed partial dentures with tripod configuration showed higher stress development in posterior implant under loading but there were no obvious differences between two configurations. Conclusions. The tripod configuration of implant arrangement didn't show any advantages over the straight configuration. Splinting of 3 unit bridges with nonhexed UCLA abutments showed less stress development around the fixtures. Solitary hexed UCLA restoration developed tilting of implant fixture under offset loads.
Purpose: This study aimed to obtain basic data on oral health improvement by investigating the EQ-5D index according to the oral prosthesis status of elderly persons aged 65 years or older in Korea using the Seventh Korea National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey. Methods: In this study, 3,426 elderly persons aged 65 years or older were included to analyze the relationship between the dental prostheses status and EQ-5D index in the collected data. Results: Compared to the "complete denture" in oral prosthesis, EQ in case of no dental prostheses or fixed dental prostheses is comparable to removable prosthetics such as "no dental prostheses," "one fixed bridge," and "two or more fixed bridges." Removable partial denture and complete denture required for the maxillary and mandibular EQ-5D index were significantly higher in "not necessary" than in "complete denture necessary" in all the elderly persons. Conclusion: The condition of the dental prosthesis and the need for a removable partial denture and complete denture for the elderly's EQ-5D index were confirmed, and it was found that the fixed dental prostheses were more effective than the removable dental prostheses. Therefore, oral health education programs for the elderly should be developed to promote dental function and oral health maintenance.
Two supervised learning algorithms, a basic neural network and a long short-term memory recurrent neural network, are applied to traffic including DDoS attacks. The joint effects of preprocessing methods and hyperparameters for machine learning on performance are investigated. Values representing attack characteristics are extracted from datasets and preprocessed by two methods. Binary classification and two optimizers are used. Some hyperparameters are obtained exhaustively for fast and accurate detection, while others are fixed with constants to account for performance and data characteristics. An experiment is performed via TensorFlow on three traffic datasets. Three scenarios are considered to investigate the effects of learning former traffic on sequential traffic analysis and the effects of learning one dataset on application to another dataset, and determine whether the algorithms can be used for recent attack traffic. Experimental results show that the used preprocessing methods, neural network architectures and hyperparameters, and the optimizers are appropriate for DDoS attack detection. The obtained results provide a criterion for the detection accuracy of attacks.
In this paper, we propose a dispatching algorithm for constructing a Factory Operating System (FOS) which can operate semiconductor fabrication factories more efficiently and effectively. We first define ten dispatching criteria and propose two methods to apply the defined dispatching criteria sequentially and simultaneously (i.e. fixed dispatching architecture). However the fixed type methods cannot apply the criteria adaptively by considering changes in the semiconductor fabrication factories. To overcome this type of weakness, an adaptive dispatching architecture is proposed for applying the dispatching criteria dynamically based on the factory status. The status can be determined by combining evaluation results from the following three status criteria; target movement, workload balance, and utilization rate. Results from the shop floor in past few periods showed that the proposed methodology gives a good performance with respect to the productivity, workload balance, and machine utilization. We can expect that the proposed adaptive dispatching architecture will be used as a useful tool for operating semiconductor fabrication factories more efficiently and effectively.
This paper highlights the comparison of a proposed methods named adaptive undervoltage load shedding based PTSI techniques for undervoltage load shedding and two previous methods named Fixed Shed Fixed Delay (FSFD) and Variable Shed Variable Delay (VSVD) for avoiding voltage collapse. There are three main area considerations in load shedding schemes as the amount of load to be shed, the timing of load shedding event, and the location where load shed is to be shed. The proposed method, named as adaptive UVLS based PTSI seem to be most appropriate among the uncoordinated schemes. From the simulation result can be shown the Adaptive UVLS based PTSI give faster response, accurate and very sensitive control for the UVLS control technique. This technique is effectively when calculating the amount to be shed. Therefore, it is possible to bring the voltage to the threshold value in one step. Thus, the adaptive load shedding can effectively reduce the computational time for control strategy.
In this paper, we prove two strong convergence theorems for asymptotically nonexpansive mappings in Hibert spaces by hybrid methods. Our results extend and improve the recent ones announced by Nakajo, Takahashi [K. Nakajo, W. Takahashi, Strong convergence theorems for nonexpansive mappings and nonexpansive semigroups, J. Math. Anal. Appl. 279 (2003) 372-379], Kim, Xu [T. H. Kim, H. K. Xu, Strong convergence of modified mann iterations for asymptotically nonexpansive mappings and semigroups, Nonlinear Anal. 64 (2006) 1140-1152], Martinez-Yanes, Xu [C. Martinez-Yanes, H. K. Xu, Strong convergence of the CQ method for fixed point iteration processes, Nonlinear Anal. 64 (2006) 2400-2411] and some others.
Existence results for multiple positive solutions of two classes of boundary value problems for bilateral difference systems are established by using a fixed point theorem under convenient assumptions. It is the purpose of this paper to show that the approach to get positive solutions of boundary value problems of finite difference equations by using multi-fixed-point theorems can be extended to treat the bilateral difference systems with one-dimensional Laplacians. As an application, the sufficient conditions are established for finding multiple positive homoclinic solutions of a bilateral difference system. The methods used in this paper may be useful for numerical simulation. An example is presented to illustrate the main theorems. Further studies are proposed at the end of the paper.
The purposes of this paper are to deal with the design of m-input, m-output linear systems by the state variable feedback, and to extend the design capability of the state variable feedback design. The design requirements are decoupling and the exact realigation of desired transfer functions. Some methods are proposed to insert series compensators in the fixed plant in the cases when series compensators are needed to meet the input-output transfer matrix specification. The method for adding series compensators to the input channels of the fixed plant is shown by examples to lead both to the loss of the ability to decouple the augmented plant by the state variable feedback, and to the loss of desired zeroes. A method which avoids these two hazards is developed in which series compensators are put on the output channels of the fixed plant: it is proved that the augmented plant is F-invariant. By treating each subsystem individually, the designer can apply some of the previous developed knowledge of the state variable design of single-input, single-output systems.
The Bank of Korea changed its method of GDP estimation from a fixed-weighted to a chain-weighted measure in 2009. The fixed-weighted method had had problems such as substitution bias and the rewriting of economic history. As a result of the change, annual growth rates calculated using the chain-weighted method from 1970 through 2008 turned out to be 0.8%p higher on average than the existing rates. The quarterly average chain-weighted growth rates were 0.19%p higher than the fixed-weighted ones, but they changed in the same directions. In this paper we analyze whether the differences in rates between the two calculation methods would bring about a difference in the cyclical characteristics of GDP. We conclude that although there were differences in growth rates after introduction of the chain-weighted method, there was no difference in the cyclical fluctuation.

The gamma distribution is a flexible right-skewed distribution widely used in many areas, and it is of great interest to estimate the probability of a random variable exceeding a specified value in survival and reliability analysis. Therefore, the study develops a fixed-accuracy confidence interval for P(X > c) when X follows a gamma distribution, Γ(α, β), and c is a preassigned positive constant through: 1) a purely sequential procedure with known shape parameter α and unknown rate parameter β; and 2) a nonparametric purely sequential procedure with both shape and rate parameters unknown. Both procedures enjoy appealing asymptotic first-order efficiency and asymptotic consistency properties. Extensive simulations validate the theoretical findings. Three real-life data examples from health studies and steel manufacturing study are discussed to illustrate the practical applicability of both procedures.
