Robotic Workplace Calibration Using Teaching Data of Work-Piece Fixed in Robotic Workplace for Robot Off-line Programming (로봇 오프라인 프로그래밍을 위한 작업장에 고정된 공작물 교시 정보를 이용한 로봇작업장 보정)

  • The robot calibration has greatly improved the absolute accuracy of the industrial robot. However, the accuracy of the relative positions of robotic tool-tip at work-points on a work-piece is only slightly corrected by the robot calibration since there has been no practical method to eliminate the elements of the setup position errors at a robotic workplace. A robotic workplace calibration is demonstrated in this paper to minimize the relative position errors between a robot tool-tip and the work-point on a work-piece. The existing teaching and playback method has been developed for the robotic workplace calibration. This paper uses the work-piece fixed in a robotic work-place as measurement equipment instead of a special robot measurement equipment for the robotic workplace calibration. The positive effect of the robotic workplace calibration is supported by the results of computer simulation on an ideal robotic workplace model and an experiment at the actual robotic workplace.

Experimental method and evaluation of the calibration capability for the national calibration centers using the platinum resistance temperature sensors (백금저항온도센서를 이용한 국가교정기관의 교정능력 평가 및 실험방법)

  • Calibration capability was evaluated using the reference-grade platinum resistance thermometer (PRT) in the temperature range of $-50^{\circ}C$ to $250^{\circ}C$ for the national calibration centers. The reference-grade PRT was calibrated at the several fixed points, which was composed by the freezing points of Sn, In, the melting point of Ga and the triple point of water and Hg, before and after the round-robin test (RRT) experiments. The temperature scale of reference-grade PRT was compared to the local standard PRT's using the system of the national calibration centers. $E_{n}$ values was calculated by the temperature difference between the reference-grade PRT and the local standard PRT, and the best measurement capability. Finally, the capability of the national calibration centers was evaluated by the $E_{n}$ values.

Phase transition features of binary Co-C eutectic temperature fixed-point (이원계 Co-C 공정계 온도 고정점의 특성)

  • A Co-C eutectic cell for thermocouple calibration was manufactured and tested to investigate its phase transition characteristics using Type B thermocouples. It was observed that the freezing plateaus were flatter than those of melting, but the melting points were closer to the true transition temperature than the freezing points. The expanded uncertainty of melting temperature was calculated not to exceed $0.2^{\circ}C$ (k = 2). Based on the observed results, the melting process is recommended for the calibration of thermocouples.

  • Pressure-controlled sodium heat pipe furnace was designed and fabricated, and its characteristics was investigated. Pressure control system was controlled within ${\pm}0.5\;Pa$ at 150 kPa and the stability of pressure was decreased to ${\pm}2.5\;Pa$, when the pressure-controlled system connected with the heat pipe. The melting curve of Ag fixed-point realized well by the adiabatic method using the pressure-controlled sodium heat pipe furnace and its accuracy showed ${\pm}2.27\;mK$ from the calculation of 20% to 80% at the plateau. The freezing curve of Ag fixed-point also realized and its plateau value was 2.23 mK lower than that of the melting curve.

  • Real-time Kinematic GPS enables high accuracy Positioning by real time. If ambiguity use an integer solution, can obtain accuracy of several 'mm', and can obtain accuracy of tens 'em' if use real solution. In this study, We accomplish surveying by existent traditional surveying techniques (Total Station), Static GPS techniques and RTK-GPS techniques by Field Calibration about uniformity measuring point and then compared and ana1yzed each techniques positioning accuracy etc.. Result that achieve by Static-GPS in Plane area, about all measuring points, expressed error fewer than 3cm. Result that achieve RTK-GPS Surveying by Field Calibration in Plane area, could know that RTK-GPS techniques by Field Calibration is available in Plane area because expressing errors fewer than all 6cm, except case that do not get fixed solution of ambiguity Field Calibration RTK-GPS could know economically than existent conventional type measurement and existent GPS's measurement techniques that efficiency is very high.

  • We introduce the algorithms of 2-D and 3-D position estimation using 2-D vision sensors. The sensors used in this research issue red laser slit light to the body. So, it is very convenient to obtain the coordinates of corner point or edge in sensor coordinate. Since the measured points are normally not fixed in the body coordinate, the additional conditions, that corner lines or edges are straight and fixed in the body coordinate, are used to find out the position and orientation of the body. In the case of 2-D motional body, we can find the solution analytically. But in the case of 3-D motional body, linearization technique and least mean squares method are used because of hard nonlinearity.

Study on the melting characteristics of the Fe-C eutectic temperature fixed-point (Fe-C 공정 온도 고정점의 용융 특성에 대한 연구)

  • A Fe-C eutectic cell for thermocouple calibration was manufactured and tested to investigate its phase transition characteristics in the thermocouple thermometry. It was observed that the freezing plateaus were strongly affected by the freeze-inducing temperature $T_{f}$. In case of the melting process, the melting plateau was influenced by the previous thermal history. As $T_{f}$. in the previous freezing was lower, the melting plateau became lower with a temperature dependence as small as $-0.0015^{\circ}C/^{\circ}C$. Therefore, it was found that the freeze-inducing temperature should be fixed to obtain a reproducible phase transition temperature in the melting. After fixing $T_{f}$, the melting process was examined and it was found that long and flat melting plateau was obtained within a reproducibility of about ${\pm}0.01^{\circ}C$. Based on the observed results, it was recommended that Fe-C eutectic temperature be best realized for the melting process with a melt-inducing temperature of $+3^{\circ}C$ above the expected liquidus temperature after freezing at $-5^{\circ}C$ below the solidus temperature.

  • Standard estimation methods for linear mixed models are sensitive to influential observations. However, tools and concepts for linear mixed model diagnostics are rudimentary until now and research is heavily demanded in linear mixed models. In this paper, we consider two diagnostics to evaluate the effects of individual observations in the estimation of fixed effects for linear mixed models. Those are Cook's distance and COVRATIO. Results of our limited simulation study suggest that the Cook's distance is not good statistical quantity in linear mixed models. Also calibration point for COVRATIO seems to be quite conservative.

  • In this paper, we propose a SIFT feature-based dynamic stitching algorithm for image calibration and correction of a 360-degree surround view system. The existing surround view system requires a lot of processing time and money because in the process of image calibration and correction. The traditional marker patterns are placed around the vehicle and correction is performed manually. Therefore, in this study, images captured with four fisheye cameras mounted on the surround view system were distorted and then matched with the same feature points in adjacent images through SIFT-based feature point extraction to enable image stitching without a fixed marker pattern.
