한국어 주소 음성인식의 고속화를 위한 적응 프루닝 문턱치 알고리즘 (An Adaptive Pruning Threshold Algorithm for the Korean Address Speech Recognition)

  • 음성인식의 고속화를 위한 저자들에 의한 기존의 연구에서는 탐색이 진행함에 따라 시간방향의 탐색공간 문턱치를 가변적으로 적용하여 인식률의 저하없이 인식속도를 개선시켰다. 이 방법은 탐색 공간을 효과적으로 줄일 수는 있었으나 문턱치를 결정하기 위해서 여러 번의 사전 실험을 수행하여야 하는 번거러움이 있었다. 이러한 문제점을 해결하기 위하여 본 논문에서는 이전 탐색구간에 대한 최대우도와 후보들의 우도를 이용하여 현재 탐색구간의 문턱치를 탐색이 진행하는 과정에서 자동적으로 구하는 적응 프루닝 문턱치 알고리즘을 제안하였다. 제안한 알고리즘의 유효성을 확인하기 위해 국내 행정단위 시 (도), 구 (군), 동 (읍, 면), 번지를 구성하는 단어로 구성된 주소 인식 시스템에 적용하여 기존의 방법과 제안한 방법을 비교 검토하였다. 인식실험 결과, 연결단어 인식률 96.0%, 단어 인식률이 98.7%인 경우를 기준으로 하였을 때 제안된 방법이 기존의 고정 프루닝과 가변 프루닝 문턱치에 비하여 인식률 저하없이 각각 14.4%와 9.14%의 탐색 공간을 상대적으로 줄일 수 있어 제안된 방법의 유효성을 확인할 수 있었다.

Stiffness Analysis of a Low-DOF Parallel Manipulator including the Elastic Deformations of Both Joints and Links (ICCAS 2005)

  • This paper presents a stiffness analysis method for a low-DOF parallel manipulator, which takes into account of elastic deformations of joints and links. A low-DOF parallel manipulator is defined as a spatial parallel manipulator which has less than six degrees of freedom. Differently from the case of a 6-DOF parallel manipulator, the serial chains in a low-DOF parallel manipulator are subject to constraint forces as well as actuation forces. The reaction forces due to actuations and constraints in each limb can be determined by making use of the theory of reciprocal screws. It is shown that the stiffness model of an F-DOF parallel manipulator consists of F springs related to the reciprocal screws of actuations and 6-F springs related to the reciprocal screws of constraints, which connect the moving platform to the fixed base in parallel. The $6{times}6$ stiffness matrix is derived, which is the sum of the stiffness matrices of actuations and constraints. The six spring constants can be precisely determined by modeling the compliance of joints and links in a serial chain as follows; the link can be considered as an Euler beam and the stiffness matrix of rotational or prismatic joint can be modeled as a $6{times}6$ diagonal matrix, where one diagonal element about the rotation axis or along the sliding direction is zero. By summing the elastic deformations in joints and links, the compliance matrix of a serial chain is obtained. Finally, applying the reciprocal screws to the compliance matrix of a serial chain, the compliance values of springs can be determined. As an example of explaining the procedure, the stiffness of the Tricept parallel manipulator has been analyzed.

Maxillary protraction using customized mini-plates for anchorage in an adolescent girl with skeletal Class III malocclusion

  • The treatment of skeletal Class III malocclusion in adolescents is challenging. Maxillary protraction, particularly that using bone anchorage, has been proven to be an effective method for the stimulation of maxillary growth. However, the conventional procedure, which involves the surgical implantation of mini-plates, is traumatic and associated with a high risk. Three-dimensional (3D) digital technology offers the possibility of individualized treatment. Customized mini-plates can be designed according to the shape of the maxillary surface and the positions of the roots on cone-beam computed tomography scans; this reduces both the surgical risk and patient trauma. Here we report a case involving a 12-year-old adolescent girl with skeletal Class III malocclusion and midface deficiency that was treated in two phases. In phase 1, rapid maxillary expansion and protraction were performed using 3D-printed mini-plates for anchorage. The mini-plates exhibited better adaptation to the bone contour, and titanium screw implantation was safer because of the customized design. The orthopedic force applied to each mini-plate was approximately 400-500 g, and the plates remained stable during the maxillary protraction process, which exhibited efficacious orthopedic effects and significantly improved the facial profile and esthetics. In phase 2, fixed appliances were used for alignment and leveling of the maxillary and mandibular dentitions. The complete two-phase treatment lasted for 24 months. After 48 months of retention, the treatment outcomes remained stable.

탑-뷰 변환과 빔-레이 모델을 이용한 영상기반 보행 안내 시스템 (Vision-based Walking Guidance System Using Top-view Transform and Beam-ray Model)

  • 본 논문은 야외 환경에서 하나의 카메라를 이용한 시각 장애인을 위한 보행 안내 시스템을 제안한다. 기존의 스테레오 비전을 이용한 보행 지원 시스템과는 다르게 제안된 시스템은 사용자의 허리에 고정된 하나의 카메라를 이용하여 꼭 필요한 정보만을 얻는 것을 목표로 하는 시스템이다. 제안하는 시스템은 먼저 탑-뷰 영상을 생성하고, 생성된 탑-뷰 영상 내 지역적인 코너 극점을 검출한다. 검출된 극점에서 방사형의 히스토그램을 분석하여 장애물을 검출한다. 그리고 사용자 움직임은 사용자에 가까운 지역 안에서 옵티컬 플로우를 사용하여 추정한다. 이렇게 영상으로부터 추출된 정보들을 기반으로 음성 메시지 생성 모듈은 보행 지시 정보를 합성된 음성을 통해 시각 장애인에게 전달한다. 다양한실험 영상들을 사용하여 제안한 보행 안내 시스템이 일반 인도에서 유용한 안내 지시를 제공하는 것이 가능함을 보인다.

The Influence of He flow on the Si etching procedure using chlorine gas

  • Dry etching technique provides more easy controllability on the etch profile such as anisotropic etching than wet etching process and the results of lots of researches on the characterization of various plasmas or ion beams for semiconductor etching have been reported. Chlorine-based plasmas or chlorine ion beam have been often used to etch several semiconductor materials, in particular Si-based materials. We have studied the effect of He flow rate on the Si and SiO2 dry etching using chlorine-based plasma. Experiments were performed using reactive ion etching system. RF power was 300W. Cl2 gas flow rate was fixed at 58.6 sccm, and the He flow rate was varied from 0 to 120 sccm. Fig. 1 presents the etch depth of si layer versus the etching time at various He flow rate. In case of low He flow rate, the etch rate was measured to be negligible for both Si and SiO2. As the He flow increases over 30% of the total inlet gas flow, the plasma state becomes stable and the etch rate starts to increase. In high Ge flow rate (over 60%), the relation between the etch depth and the time was observed to be nearly linear. Fig. 2 presents the variation of the etch rate depending on the He flow rate. The etch rate increases linearly with He flow rate. The results of this preliminary study show that Cl2/He mixture plasma is good candidate for the controllable si dry etching.

Post buckling mechanics and strength of cold-formed steel columns exhibiting Local-Distortional interaction mode failure

  • This paper reports the numerical investigation conducted to study the influence of Local-Distortional (L-D) interaction mode buckling on post buckling strength erosion in fixed ended lipped channel cold formed steel columns. This investigation comprises of 81 column sections with various geometries and yield stresses that are carefully chosen to cover wide range of strength related parametric ratios like (i) distortional to local critical buckling stress ratio ($0.91{\leq}F_{CRD}/F_{CRL}{\leq}4.05$) (ii) non dimensional local slenderness ratio ($0.88{\leq}{\lambda}_L{\leq}3.54$) (iii) non-dimensional distortional slenderness ratio ($0.68{\leq}{\lambda}_D{\leq}3.23$) and (iv) yield to non-critical buckling stress ratio (0.45 to 10.4). The numerical investigation is carried out by conducting linear and non-linear shell finite element analysis (SFEA) using ABAQUS software. The non-linear SFEA includes both geometry and material non-linearity. The numerical results obtained are deeply analysed to understand the post buckling mechanics, failure modes and ultimate strength that are influenced by L-D interaction with respect to strength related parametric ratios. The ultimate strength data obtained from numerical analysis are compared with (i) the experimental tests data concerning L-D interaction mode buckling reported by other researchers (ii) column strength predicted by Direct Strength Method (DSM) column strength curves for local and distortional buckling specified in AISI S-100 (iii) strength predicted by available DSM based approaches that includes L-D interaction mode failure. The role of flange width to web depth ratio on post buckling strength erosion is reported. Then the paper concludes with merits and limitations of codified DSM and available DSM based approaches on accurate failure strength prediction.

Feasibility Study of a Custom-made Film for End-to-End Quality Assurance Test of Robotic Intensity Modulated Radiation Therapy System

  • This paper aims to verify the clinical feasibility of a custom-made film created by a laser cutting tool for End-to-End (E2E) quality assurance in robotic intensity modulated radiation therapy system. The custom-made film was fabricated from the Gafchromic EBT3 film with the size of $8^{{\prime}{\prime}}{\times}10^{{\prime}{\prime}}$ using a drawing that is identical to the shape and scale of the original E2E film. The drawing was created by using a computer aided design program with the image file, which is obtained by scanning original E2E film. Beam delivery and evaluations were respectively performed with the original film and the custom-made film using fixed-cone collimator on three tracking modes: 6D skull (6DS), Xsight spine (XS), and Xsight lung (XL). The differences between total targeting errors of the original and custom-made films were recorded as 0.17 mm, 0.3 mm, and 0.17 mm at 6DS, XS, and XL tracking modes, respectively. This indicates that the custom-made film could yield nearly equivalent results to those of the original E2E film, given the uncertainties caused by distortions during film scanning and vibrations associated with film cutting. By confirming the clinical feasibility of a custom-made film for E2E testing, it can be expected that economic efficiency of the testing will increase accordingly.

거대 배열 안테나 무선 백홀 하향 링크 시스템에서 피드백 량을 줄이기 위한 빔 형성 방법 (Reduced Feedback Beamforming with a Large Antenna Array in Wireless Backhaul Downlink Systems)

  • 본 논문은 광역 셀 기지국이 sub-array 구조의 거대 배열 안테나를 가지고 있는 무선 백홀 하향 링크 시스템에서 두 단계 빔 형성 및 수신 빔 형성 기법을 제안하였다. 또한, 시스템 성능 비교를 위해, 제로 포싱 프리코더(zero-forcing precoder)를 이용한 세 단계 빔 형성 기법을 적용하여 수신 소형 셀 기지국들의 전송률 성능을 계산하였다. 무선 백홀 채널의 채널 산란 및 거리감쇄 특성 등을 고려할 때 공간 다중화를 위한 프리코딩 기술뿐만 아니라 거리감쇄를 극복하기 위한 지향성 빔 형성 기술이 접목되어야 한다. 따라서 첫 번째 단계에서는 DFT(discrete-Fourier transform) 기반의 고정 빔 패턴을 설계하였다. 결과적으로, 피드백 량을 줄이면서 동시에 전송률 성능을 높이기 위해서는 제안한 두 단계 빔 형성 및 수신 빔 형성 기법을 선택하는 것이 공간 다중화를 고려할 때 유리하다는 것을 확인하였다.

초음파 의료 영상에서 합성 Sinc 음장 집속방법의 실험적 고찰 (An Experimental Study of the Synthetic Sinc Wave in Ultrasonic Imaging)

  • 합성 싱크 음장은 선형지연을 가지는 펄스 평면파를 송신한다. 송신집속은 각각 다른 시간에 송신된 진행방향이 다른 평면파들에 대한 수신신호를 모두 저장하고 있다가 합성집속 방법을 이용한다 이러한 송신 집속 방법은 송신시 전체의 소자를 동시에 사용함으로 높은 SNR을 얻을수 있고. 양방향 동적집속이 가능하다. 본 논문에서는 합성싱크음장 집속방법을 구현하기위한 문제점을 고찰하고, 5MHz의 선형변환기를 이용한 초음파 영상진단기에서 펜텀과 인체의 영상에 대하여 합성싱크음장 집속방법을 실험으로 검증하였다 펜텀 영상의 경우 기존의 방법에 비하여 더 좋은 해상도로 더 깊이 영상화 할 수 있었다. 인체 영상의 경우 인체의 움직임과 위상수차(phase aberration) 등으로 인한 효과로 해상도는 떨어지지만. 기존의 집속방법에 대하여 5배 이상의 frame 율의 속도로 영상을 얻어도 기존의 방법과 비슷한 해상도를 얻을 수 있었다

전자선 에너지 및 조사야에 따른 유효선원 피부 간 거리 변화 (Variation of Effective SSD According to Electron Energies and Irradiated Field Sizes)

  • It is known that fixed source to skin distance (SSD) cannot be used when the treatment field is sloped or larger than the size of second collimator in electron beam irradiation and inverse square law using effective ssd should be adopted. Effective SSDs were measured in different field sizes in each 6, 9, 12, 15 and 18MeV electron energy by suing NELAC 1018D linear accelerator of Kosin Medical Center. We found important parmeters of effective SSD. 1. Minimum effective SSD was 58.8cm in small field size of $6\pm6cm$ and maximum effective SSD was 94.9cm in large field size of $25\pm25cm$, with 6MeV energy. It's difference was 36.1cm. The dose rate at measuring point was quite different even with a small difference of SSD in small field $(6\times6cm)$ and low energy (6 MeV). 2. Effective SSD increased with field size in same electron energy. 3. Effective SSDs gradually increased with the electron energies and reached maximum at 12 or 15 MeV electron energy and decreased again at 18MeV electron energy in each identical field size. And so the effective SSD should be measured in each energy and field size for practical radiotherapy.
