Comparative Analysis of Elementary School Computing Achievement Standards in the U.S. and Korea

  • ACM's CSTA has drafted standards for computing curricula and recommended them to schools in the United States. The five core concepts of the US elementary school computing curriculum are computing systems, network and the Internet, data and analysis, algorithms and programming, and impacts of computing. In 2005, Korea prepared ICT education guidelines, including five fields, their subfields, and achievement criteria for each subfield. In the 2015 revised curriculum, software education was introduced and five achievement standards were set. The ACM CSTA has 18 achievement criteria up to K-2 and 21 achievement criteria up to K-5. If we compare the 39 achievement standards of the US to Korea, Korea's 2005 ICT education guidelines include 25 of these, and the 2015 revised curriculum includes 5 of them. In this study, we aim to study the CSTA achievement criteria that second graders should know and the achievement criteria that fifth graders should know. This is compared and analyzed with Korea's 2005 ICT Guidelines and 2015 Software Curriculum. In comparison with the number of achievement standards, the US elementary school's computing achievement standards are much higher than in Korea. Comparing with each standard, there are many areas that are not covered in Korean curriculum, and we can see that the 2015 curriculum has rather receded from 2005.

식용 봄꽃(개나리꽃, 진달래꽃, 목련꽃, 벚꽃) 추출물의 항산화성분과 항산화활성 검색 (Screening the Antioxidant Components and Antioxidant Activitiy of Extracts Derived from Five Varieties of Edible Spring Flowers)

  • 우리나라의 대표적인 식용 봄꽃 중 개나리꽃, 진달래꽃, 벚꽃, 목련꽃(백목련, 자목련) 등의 80% 에탄올 추출물에 함유된 항산화 활성성분과 항산화활성을 측정한 결과는 다음과 같다. 5종의 봄꽃 시료의 건물 중량(g of dry weight)에 함유된 생리활성 성분중 총 페놀함량은 gallic acid 등량값으로 14.1-18.9 mg이며, 총 플라보노이드 함량은 catechin 등량값으로 0.3-4.9mg으로 나타났다. 또한 비타민 C의 함량은 0.71-1.31 mg이었으며, 총 카로티노이드 함량은 베타카로틴 등량값으로 $1.9-578.1{\mu}g$으로 나타났으며 프로안토시아니딘의 함량은 카테킨의 등량값으로 2.8-23.5 mg으로 측정되었다. DPPH와 ABTS 라디컬 소거능 및 FRAP 분석의 환원력에 의한 시료의 항산화활성은 건물시료 중량 당 trolox 등량값으로 1.2-46.1 mM로 나타났다(p<0.05). 이들 항산화활성에 상관도($r^2$)가 가장 높은 생리활성 성분은 비타민 C, 플라보노이드, 총 폴리페놀 함량의 순으로 나타나 이들 성분이 항산화활성의 주요인자로 확인되었다. 본 실험에 사용된 5종의 봄꽃 시료 중 항산화활성 성분이 다양하면서 동시에 항산화능이 가장 탁월한 시료는 벚꽃으로 나타났으며(p<0.05), 이들의 항산화활성은 시료 농도(1-1000 mg)에 비례하는 것으로(p<0.05) 나타나, 천연 항산화제 및 기능성 식이소재로서의 잠재적 활용 가능성이 가장 높은 꽃으로 평가되었다.

New record of three hypotrich soil ciliates(Ciliophora: Hypotricha) from South Korea: Oxytricha multilineata, Mixophrya pantanalensis pantanalensis and Caudiurostyla sinensis

  • Oxytricha multilineata, Mixophrya pantanalensis pantanalensis, and Caudiurostyla sinensis were isolated from soil samples collected from Cheongju-si and Yeoju-si, confirmed as new to South Korea. Oxytricha multilineata was distinguished from other congeners by seven dorsal kineties and dorsal bristles about 15 ㎛ long. Mixophrya pantanalensis pantanalensis was characterized by five to seven lithosomes and six dorsal kineties. Caudiurostyla sinensis was characterized by colorless cortical granules present, 10-14 midventral pairs, 7-9 left and 6-9 right marginal rows and four or five dorsal kineties. We determined the ribosomal DNA sequences (including 18S rDNA, ITS1, 5.8S rDNA, ITS2, and partial 28S rDNA) from above three species. And the genetic distances were compared with their congeners.

오과차(five-fruit tea)의 추출시간에 따른 성분 변화 (Changes in Component of Five-fruit Tea, with Various Extraction Time)

  • This thesis is to analyze the ingredients of five-fruit tea depending on extraction time as a basic experiment for quality improvement and industrialization of traditional Korean beverage. According to extraction time, the acidity of the tea is 2.4% at 30 minutes, 2.3% at 50 minutes and 1.7% at 70 minutes, and soluble solid is 0.22 g, 0.31 g and 0.41 g. The pH of five-fruit tea, which is 4.70, 4.85 and 4.98 at each time, and total sugar is 54.01 m9, 108.82 m9 and 142.92 mg as extraction time increases. The total amount of free sugars is 1.14 mg, 1.36 mg and 2.17 mg, and glucose, surcose and fructose which are 98.2%, 92.6% and 92.6% of the whole percentage occupy the most part of free sugars. The total free amino acids content increases to 84.94 mg, 99.67 mg and 120.40 mg. The five kinds of amino acids like serine, glutamic acid, threonine, proline and alanine amount to 94.5%, 93.6% and 94.7% at all. she variation in the percentage of free amino acids content in accordance with extraction time is as follows : threonine, extracted for 50 minutes, is reduced considerably and glutamic acid decreases gradually as extraction time increases. When proline is extracted for 50 minutes, it's rate of increase Is most high.

Estimation of Effective Population Size in a Clonal Seed Orchard of Chamaecyparis obtusa

  • Clonal differences in fertility (expressed as the number of female and male strobili) were determined for five consecutive years (2002-2006) in a clonal seed orchard of Chamaecyparis obtusa. Fertility varied among clones and among years with producing five-year averages of 378.8 and 871.2 for female and male strobili per ramet, respectively. Correlation between female and male strobilus production was positive over the five years and statistically significant. Based on the observed fertility variation, the effective population sizes (estimated by status numbers, $N_e$) were calculated and varied from 24.3 to 47.9 (48.6% to 95.8% of census number, N) among the five studied years. On average (pooled), the relative effective population size was 82% of the N. Variation in female fertility was higher than that in male fertility, and this variation was reflected on female and male parents' status numbers. Pooled $N_e$ estimated from the five years was higher than that from poor seed production years. From our results, it was concluded that genetic diversity collected from good flowering years would be higher than that from poor flowering years.

A report on five unrecorded bacterial species belonging to the phyla Actinomycetota, Bacillota and Pseudomonadota in Korea isolated in 2020

  • During an investigation into the indigenous prokaryotic species diversity in Korea, a total of five bacterial strains were isolated from various environments in Korea. The isolated bacterial strains were identified by analyzing their 16S rRNA gene sequences, and those with a minimum of 98.7% sequence similarity with known bacterial species but not reported in Korea were designated as unrecorded species. These isolates were assigned to three phyla, five orders, five families, and five different genera. The isolates were identified as Cumulibacter manganitolerans (99.1%) and Myolicibacterium tusciae (98.7%) of the class Actinomycetes; Bacillus marasmi (99.9%) of the class Bacilli; and Novosphingobium mathurense (100%) and Microvirga ossetica (98.8%) of the class Alphaproteobacteria. Gram reaction, colony and cellular morphology, basic biochemical characteristics, and phylogenetic position of theses isolates are also described.

견관절 굴곡 각도가 남·녀 대학생의 악력 변화에 미치는 영향 (The Impact of Shoulder Flexion Angle on Hand Grip Strength in Male and Female Undergraduate Students)

  • Purpose : This study's purpose is consideration about change of the hand grip strength according to different posture and shoulder flexion angle. The shoulder joint permits the greatest mobility and carries out the important function of stabilization for hand use. Hand grip activity is important to evaluate while assessing loads of shoulder in hand mobilities. Methods : Thirty(15 male, 15 female) college students with unknown shoulder dysfunction participated subject in five different positions of elbow extension with sitting and standing posture, different positions is followed : (1) shoulder $0^{\circ}$ flexion (2) shoulder $45^{\circ}$ flexion (3) shoulder $90^{\circ}$ flexion (4) shoulder $135^{\circ}$ flexion (5) shoulder $180^{\circ}$ flexion. Results : On the average, in the hand grip strength, the standing posture is higher than sitting posture. Sitting posture showed a most high level at the man's $0^{\circ}$ and woman's $135^{\circ}$. And standing posture showed a most high level at the man's $135^{\circ}$ and woman's $90^{\circ}$. Conclusion : The paired t-test was used to determine the different in grip strength between sitting and standing posture by shoulder angle change. There was no significant difference between the five position by sitting and standing posture. In man, correlation analysis revealed significant connection for all five position by sitting and standing posture. And in woman, correlation analysis revealed connection for all five position by sitting and standing posture.

Exploring the Possibility of Using Chatbots as Educational Tools for School Libraries

  • The purpose of this study is to investigate the possibility of using chatbots as a school library educational tool. In order to achieve the purpose of the study, 116 librarian teachers first investigated the types and contents of education conducted in the school library setting and the perception of chatbots there. In addition, 15 librarians (five elementary, five middle, and five high school) were asked to complete a structured questionnaire after using Google's Bard, Microsoft's Bing, and OpenAI's Nova to find out if it is possible to use chatbots in school library education. As a result, user and reading education chatbots were found to be common in school libraries, and 99% of librarians knew about them in some detail. However, the average chatbot performance by area was 2.9 out of 5 (2.6 points being the lowest). Nevertheless, chatbots are being developed utilizing deep learning methodologies and have excellent performance, and are very effective for content-based library education through problem-solving activities.

  • The purpose of the study was to analyze in process of circulation market boiled whale meat's rancidity. oxidative rancidity is oil or fat food depend on oxygen in air oxidative change in quality. boiled whale meat faty come to oxidative rancidity food stability and hygiene reasons for people health poisonous point out, however it is not indication study of support. Accordingly confirm lead into circulation process boiled whale meat's rancidity examination and microorganism examination boiled whale meat's stability whether or not. The result obtained were summarized as follows: 1. Proximate percentage of boiled whale meat(pectoral, pelvic, fin, flank) of moisture and crude lipid and crude protein from samples shown to be : moisture was pectoral 16.4%, pelvic 36.2%, fin 46.2%, flank 19.2%, crude lipid was pectoral 54.1%, pelvic 42.8%, fin 15.8%, flank 40.6%,crude protein was pectoral 29.4%, pelvic 20.5%, fin 29.5%, flank 28.6%. 2. The fatty acid composition of total lipid were composed of pectoral 27.2%, pelvic 28.9%, fin 33.3%, flank 23.4% of oleic acid and pectoral 12.7%, pelvic 11.1%, fin 11.3%, flank 14.0% of palmitic acid pectoral 10.8%, pelvic 7.9%, fin 7.6%, flank 2.1% of docosahexaenoic acid, pectoral 14.2%, pelvic 7.5%, fin 1.9%, flank 7.2% of eicosenoic acid, pectoral 5.1%, pelvic 5.7%, fin 4.4%, flank 5.7% of myristic acid, 16: 0 11∼14 % of high saturated fatty acid. generally most of 18: 1ω9 of boiled whale meat's each portion, 22:6 7∼12%, 20:5 1∼14% of polyenoic fatty acid. 18:3 showen to be 1% make an expection of pectoral and fin portion the total lipid were most of netural lipid's about 90%, monoenic fatty acid were most of 19∼22% of saturated fatty acid, 77∼80% of monoenic fatty acid level of 47∼56% of 18:1 16:1 was markelly high to those of total lipid. 3. The storage number days variation of oxidation were shown to be by stages process favorably the past days of boiled whale meat's acid value for 5days. pectoral the day 0.1, five days 1.3, pelvic the day 0.1, five days 1.6, fin the day 0.3, five days 0.7, flank the day 0.2, five days 0.4. 4. 국내 손해보험회사의 상대적 효율성 및 생산성 변화 (Relative Efficiency and Productivity Change of the Korean Non-Life Insurance Firms)

  • 본 연구는 DEA 기법과 Malmquist Index를 이용하여 2003년 방카슈랑스 제도 도입 이후인 2004년부터 2007년까지의 손해보험 회사들의 효율성과 생산성 변화를 측정하였다. 본 연구결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, CCR 효율성은 기술효율성을 나타내는데, 2004년부터 2007년까지의 CCR 효율성 결과를 살펴보면 매년 ECR 효율성이 1인 손해보험회사는 10개 손해보험 회사 가운데 1개 회사이다. 둘째, BCC 효율성은 순수기술효율성을 나타내는데, 2004년의 경우 BBC 효율성이 1인 손해보험회사는 10개 손해보험회사 가운데 5개 회사이고, 2005년의 경우 5개 회사, 2006년의 경우 4개 회사, 2007년의 경우 4개 회사로 나타났다. 셋째, 규모의 수익가변과 관련하여 2004년의 경우 DRS는 5개 회사, 2005년의 경우 DRS는 5개 회사 로 나타났다. 2006년의 경우 DRS는 6개 회사로 나타났고, 2007년의 경우 DRS는 6개 회사로 나타났다. 넷째, Malmquist Index를 통한 생산성 변화를 살펴보면 2004년부터 2005년까지의 평균이 0.99로 1보다 작으므로 생산성 감소가 이루어졌고, 2005년부터 2005년까지의 평균은 1,04, 2006년부터 2007년까지의 평균은 1.06으로 1보다 크므로 생산성 향상이 이루어졌음을 알 수 있다.
