서해 영광 연안 수산자원 II. Otter Trawl 어획자원의 종조성 (Fishery Resources off Youngkwang II. Species Composition of Catch by a Otter Trawl)

  • 1995년 5월, 9월, 11월에 영광군 연안에서 오터트롤로 채집한 수산생물의 종조성을 파악하고, 같은 시기에 주목망에서 채집된 부영생물과 비교하여 영광 근해 수산자원의 특성을 구명하였다. 영광군 연안에서 조사기간 동안 총 73종의 수산생물이 출현하였으며, 이중어류 $63\%$, 두족류 $5\%$, 복족류 $3\%$, 게류 $14\%$, 새우류 $14\%$이었다. 개체수에서 민태 (Johnius grypotus), 그라비새우(Palaemon gravieri), 마루자주새우 (Crangon hakodatei), 참서대 (Cynoglossus joyneri), 눈강달이 (Collichthys niveatus)가 전체의 $64.4\%$를 차지하여 우점하였다. 같은 시기에 같은 정점에서 채집한 주목망에 의한 자료와 비교한 결과, 전반적으로 주목망에는 부영생물이, 오터트롤에는 저서수산생물이 우세하여 채집방법에 따른 종조성의 차이를 보였다.

북서태평양 황제해산해역 저어류의 종조성 및 자원밀도 (Species Composition and Density of the Demersal Fishes on the Emperor Seamount in the Northwestern Pacific Ocean)

  • 2005년부터 2007년까지 북서태평양 황제해산해역에서 한국 트롤어업에 의해 어획된 어획 자료를 수집하여 어류종조성과 생물량의 시 공간 변동을 분석하였다. 어획량은 2005년에 750 mt, 2006년에 460 mt, 2007년에 440 mt로 어획되었다. 2005년부터 2007년까지 어획된 북서태평양 황제해산해역의 우점종은 빛금눈돔(Beryx splendens) 및 민사자구(Pseudopentaceros wheeleri)이었다. 직접자원량추정법인 소해면적법(swept area method)를 이용하여 빛금눈돔과 민사자구의 2005~2007년 동안 3년간 평균 생물량은 각각 791 mt과 266 mt로 추정되었다.

  • Variations in the species composition, biomass and size distribution of fisheries resources in the Uljin marine ranching area were investigated using trammel nets at two stations (artificial reef and natural rocky area) from 2009 to 2010. During the survey, a total of 74 species were sampled with a mean density of 132 ind./net and mean biomass of 21.56 kg/net. In the natural rocky area, a total of 45 species were sampled at a mean density of 202 ind./net and mean biomass of 28.81 kg/net, while in the artificial reef area, samples included a total of 56 species, with means of 62 ind./net and 14.30 kg/net. The dominant species, comprising over 3% of the total number of individuals, were Suberites ficus (30.8%), Ovalipes punctatus (19.2%), Paralichthys olivaceus (11.7%), Pleuronectes herzensteini (4.7%), Kareius bicoloratus (3.5%), Pseudopleuronectes yokohamae (3.5%) and Eopsetta grigorjewi (3.0%). The dominant species, in terms of biomass, comprising over 5% of the total biomass, were P. olivaceus (22.1%), S. ficus (18.7%), O. punctatus (7.2%), Hexagrammos otakii (6.6%), P. yokohamae (5.7%), K. bicoloratus and P. herzensteini (5.3%). A cluster analysis and non-metric multidimensional scaling (nMDS) analysis based on the Bray-Curtis similarity of fourth root transformed data for number of species and individuals, was divided into two groups: the artificial reef area (group A) and the natural rocky area (group B).

진해만의 수산생산성지표의 경년변화 (Annual Variations in Fisheries Productivity Index in Jinhae Bay)

  • Jinhae Bay is a typical aquaculture farm with active fisheries. However, it has been contaminated by the development of a major city and industrial area, and has therefore diminished in value as a fishing ground. To preserve the continuing productivity of the ocean, we have to estimate fisheries resources. To analyze the fisheries resources in Jinhae Bay, we evaluated the Fisheries Productivity Index (FPI). The FPI is composed of the Total production ($T_p$), Total amount ($T_a$), and Production of edible protein ($E_p$), nitrogen ($N_p$) and phosphorous ($P_p$). To calculate the FPI, we used Annual statistics on cooperative sales of fishery products data from 1979 to 2004 and the Food composition table. The results of the FPI were as follows. $T_p$ ranged from 70,235 tons to 113,556 tons and $T_a$ ranged from 107,004 million won to 373,776 million won. $E_p$ ranged from 8,124 tons to 13,357 tons, $N_p$ ranged from 1,965 tons to 3,273 tons, and $P_p$ ranged from 168 tons to 276 tons. According to the FPI, maximum fisheries productivity occurred in 1994, when $T_a$, $E_p$, $N_p$ and $P_p$ were at their highest values.

  • Seasonal variation in species composition of fishes in the Sannam reservoir in Changwon, Korea was determined using samples collected by a three-sided fyke net in 2018. During the study period, we collected 2,181 individuals of 9 species, with a total weight of 111,552.2 g. The dominant species were Lepomis macrochirus, Carassius carassius, Erythroculter erythropterus, and Cyprinus carpio. These species accounted for 96.1% of the total number of individuals. The number of fish species, number of individuals, biomass and species diversity indices fluctuated with the seasons. The peak number of fish species occurred in May and August, the biomass of fishes was highest in May. Whereas the number of individuals was highest in February.

한국 근해 쌍끌이대형저인망어업의 어장 변화 (Changes of Fishing Ground of the Large Pair Trawl Fishery off Korean Waters)

  • Changes in fishing ground of the large pair trawler were investigated by year, month and species off Korean waters. We used catch data by sea-block lat.${\times}$long.:$30^{\prime}{\times}30$) of the National Fisheries Research and Development Institute (NFRDI) and monthly fishing production statistics of Korean statistic information service from 1990 to 2007. In the 1990s, the demersal fish like Larimichthys polyactis, Collichthys sp, Portunus trituberculatus and Muraenesox cinereus were the dominant species, and in the 2000s, they were changed from demersal fish into pelagic fish like Scomberomorus niphonius, Scomber japonicus, Engraulis japonicus and Todarodes pacificus. Species composition of catch showed temporal variation by cluster analysis deviding into 4 period, 1990-1994, 1995-2000, 2001-2003 and 2004-2007. Fishing ground in the 2000s was decreased up to 2/3 in the 1990s, while the density of catch in the fishing ground in 2000s was higher than the 1990s.

  • The diet composition of juvenile gold-eye rockfish, Sebastes thompsoni (40-50 mm SL), was examined based on 121 individuals collected in the Yellow Sea Bottom Cold Water in August 2016. The Yellow Sea Bottom Cold Water is characterized a by water mass of <$10.0^{\circ}C$ and 33 psu. The juvenile gold-eye rockfish fed on Amphipods [57.3% index of relative importance (IRI)] and Euphausiacea (32.9%). Most of the point in the prey-specific abundance plot indicated a high between-phenotype component (BPC).

서해 5도 주변해역의 어류군집 특성에 관한 연구 (A study on the characteristics of fish community in the coastal water of the Five West Sea Islands in Korea)

  • Species composition and seasonal variations of fish in the Five West Sea Islands in Korea, were investigated by using otter trawls and bongo nets from 2014 to 2015. During the surveyed period using an otter trawl, a total of 53 species, 147,253 ind./㎢ and 2,721,296 g/㎢ of fish were collected by otter trawls. The individual dominant species were Chaeturichthys stigmatias (30.3%), Coilia nasus (18.2%), Engraulis japonicus (12.3%), and Setipinna tenuifilis (12.2%). Moreover, the biomass dominant species in biomass were Liparis tanakae (21.3%), Beringraja pulchra (18.5%), Engraulis japonicus (8.3%) and Okamejei kenojei (8.1%). Eggs by bongo nets included 1,748 ind./1,000 ㎥ of Engraulis japonicus and 64,691 ind./1,000 ㎥ of unidentified species. A total of 15 species and 2,015 ind./1,000 ㎥ of fish larvae were collected, and the dominant species were Johnius belengerii and Pholis fangi.

한국 남해안에 출현하는 방어(Seriola quinqueradiata) 치어 및 유어의 식성 (Feeding Habits of Juvenile and Young Yellow Tail Seriola quinqueradiata in Coastal Waters of the South Sea, Korea)

  • The feeding habits of juvenile and young Seriola quinqueradiata, which were collected by a hand net and set net in coastal waters of the South Sea during the period from June to August 2014 and 2015, were analyzed. The size range of juveniles was 4.9-10.9 cm FL, and that of young S. quinqueradiata was 11.0-20.4 cm FL. Important prey items in the diets of juveniles were euphausiacea and copepoda, dominated by the Euphausia sp., Paracalanus sp. and Calanus sinicus while the diets of the young consisted mainly of pisces, dominated by Engraulis japonicus, Trachurus japonicus. Stomach content compositions differed significantly among body size levels in both the juveniles and young (ANOSIM, P<0.05). With increasing size, the mN/ST constantly decreased while the mW/ST constantly increased (one-way ANOVA). Graphical analysis of the diet composition showed that juvenile S. quinqueradiata are generalized feeders, young is a specialized feeders characterized by strong individual feeding specialization.

  • The population of small yellow croaker, Larimichthys polyactis, in the Yellow and East China Seas has decreased significantly since the mid 1970s. Several management measures have been introduced to conserve it, but population size remains low. To rebuild this population, it is now necessary to consider more effective management methods based on the stock assessment. To determine long-term population changes, fishery and biological data collected over 34 years (1969-2002) were analysed. Yearly fish length compositions were analysed for the time periods 1968 through 1970, 1978 through 1982, and 1993 through 2002; and catch data was available from 1969 to 2002. Annual population sizes were calculated based on length composition, the relationship between total length and body weight, and total landings. Analyses showed that since the 1970s, average size of harvested fish decreased; the proportion of less mature fish (smaller than the 50% maturity length, 19cm) in catches has increased and the estimated biomass has decreased significantly. Consequently, the main management recommendation is that juvenile fish need to be better protected to allow the rebuilding of resources to a more sustainable population level. This will require fish size limit, permissible mesh size, and closed area and season regulations.
